I’m trying to hang in there with the two pov’s of Song of Solomon. I am so literal I am having a hard time seeing the pov of Jesus to the church. 🤷🏼♀️
So agree with this. I feel like God can talk to us specifically about love between humans because He designed it for us, and for His pleasure. The Bible is about Gods relationship with us in its entirety and yes a lot of things point to Jesus but also some things can be about our human needs and that doesn’t make it any less the word of God.

Sometimes I wonder if Solomon was talking about what happened in the garden of Eden. It’s quite the mystery. Her lover disappears after she gives into him etc. Just a thought. Maybe Angels falling in love with women and women liking angels. It’s such a different book. And Solomon also had a bunch of women that caused him to fall. These are topics hard to talk about. I feel the easiest thing to say is this book is about Jesus and the Church. I’d have to read a few times to make sure Solomon wasn’t losing his mind. Or was he trying to tell us something deeper?
A lot of people would see this book as merely being the whooo romance!! But its actually so much more then that; as a fifteen year old myself, I think all young women should read this book bc its so affirming as an allegory of God the Father saying to us girls who are often so insecure and anxious about our bodies You are beautiful and pleasing to me

I'm reading this in the Easter Weekend! So lovely! Verse 14-15 about 'my dove in the cleft of the rock' and 'show me your face' reminds me of exodus 33: 22 --> 'Then the lord said, there is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand (...) my face must not be seen.
I saw not awaking love till it’s full as you to be careful with your heart because heartache is like death and it’s very destabilising. So I see it as the Father telling us to be careful when we love like that
