I have been wanting to do an equipment deck again - previously I had played Valduk and played Syr Gwynn 18 months ago. I have a friend who also plays Syr Gwynn and this might be the best video I have seen that discusses the deck archetype and choices. Awesome work!

I've longed to make a voltron deck since I started playing the game but nothing really interested me until Gwyn debuted. This is an extremely informative video which really helps me understand good choices/plays for a strategy I don't understand too well :)
I've been wanting to make a "Sword of X and Y" deck for a while and this looks like an amazing base. Thanks for the breakdown, gave me a lot of tech ideas to consider. I know it isn't a knight, but I'm amazed there isn't an Esper Sentinel here.
You’re right this is a great starting point! Cheating 2 mana per sword can make for some bonkers plays! As for sentinel if my memory is correct this was around when MH 2 was released and Luca had not purchased one yet.
@@IDraken1221 I would def watch another one of these if Luca could come back for an updated breakdown, we got a lot of new toys over the past year. These long discussions going over the various categories of the deck really help, keep up the good work! For my build Dockside Extortionist and Jeweled Lotus were beyond what I'm willing to spend on a single card, so without that explosive mana I went for a more of "Gwyn is optional" approach. Dropped the Sunforger package for more space, upped the "equipment magnet" creatures (Balan - Wandering Knight, Armory Automaton, Ardenn - Intrepid Archeologist, Puresteel Paladin, Fervent Champion) added a combat doubler (Karlach, Fury of Avernus) and some explosive card draw to recover from board wipes (Stinging Study and Blood for the Blood God!). Lastly it rarely works out like you want to, but not running Ruinous Ultimatum in Mardu should be criminal!
Would love to have Luca back on the channel and see if he’s made any tweaks or edits since. We’ve had quite a few sets come out and I would love to see if he’s worked anything new into his list or if he’s just shaken it up in general.
I’ve got a similar list! However, I’ve removed most if not all of the knight tribal aspects of this deck. I went the turbo voltron route, where all of the creatures (outside of the crusaders) have some sort of synergy with equipments and it’s been an absolute menace 😈

Might have already been asked, but how come no stonehewer giant? not a knight but has the ability to tutor up multiple equipment and equipe them at instant speed.
@@IDraken1221 That's some pure bullshit, wotc should be promoting these sites and then offer to buy into them aka profit share and resource share so they can both benefit, why places choose domination over symbiosis I'll never understand
Too many mana rocks bro, 9 and ur running d side extortionist, smothering tithe and knight of the white orchid, sword of the animus usually gets me all the mana i need quickly, but I run sunforger and have my removal and such skewed to fit that more so Im on 5 mana rocks, no d side extortionist bc money and my deck runs mor than fine. However, I enjoy the idea of a turn 3-4 syr gwyn, it would really speed up the assault, but as usual I never know if my slot numbers are optimal.
There are a lot here but not being in green and wanting to cast Syr Gwyn multiple times is the justification. With that said we would love to compare decks! Send yours over we will take some ideas

balan's ability is instant speed meaning, you can play mind games with opponents. if he isnt blocked its game over for someone, mid-late game.

I don’t think it was in here at the time due to some restrictions. This is an older profile so it’s hard to recall. Could have been mana value
I reccomend using Haakon, Stromgald Scourge to play your knights from your graveyard that's if you can get him into your graveyard
