Horses were not allowed in Fort because there was no fresh water in old San Juan. The fort was designed to catch rain water for drinking.

I was trying to figure out the room with the table, box of rocks, the mortar & pestal, the wood platters, & the cannon. I thought that maybe the table stuff was for making gun powder. But the sign showed baking. Then it dawned on me--the cannon was for making Puffed Wheat & Puffed Rice!! Lotsa history there!!
