ABOUT ME: Hallo, Servus, and welcome to my channel! My name is Felicia (Feli), I'm 26, and I'm a German living in the USA! I was born and raised in Munich, Germany but have been living in Cincinnati, Ohio off and on since 2016. I was lucky enough to win the Green Card lottery and have been a permanent resident since 2019! In my videos, I talk about cultural differences between America and Germany, things I like and dislike about living here, and other experiences that I have made during my time in the States. Let me know what YOU would like to hear about in the comments below. DANKE :)

I hope you guys are enjoying the video! As you can hear (and maybe even see), I have been sick these past few days and sound pretty stuffed up but I wanted to put this video out anyway. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR 20k SUBSCRIBERS!!! :)
One thing you probably heard before and you probably know already, but in case you don’t is that a lot of American men from all cultures happened to like women from other countries more because their personalities is different than the typical American woman. Meaning the mindset of the typical woman over here (not all) is that they have a very gassed up head meaning basically they think the world revolves around them.
From personal experience I dated a Canadian girl, I dated a girl born and raised in Spain even a Mexican girl but one thing I could tell you is that once those women get too mixed up in American culture they usually become like the rest. Dating in the USA is more like going to a job interview lol
Even intimate exchange 😱 lol.
Thanks for all your videos. People like you and other European RUclipsrs give us an insight on what you think about Of America, because most of us think we are hated. At least the people I talk too.
I was on an over the Rhine tenement tour with you! I love your videos!
@@mattspradlin9473 Yes I know! Thank you :)
@a z Oh no, that would be nice!
@First Last I can't believe you asked that.
For Germans, this level of intimacy is equivalent to having strangers open and go through your refrigerator.
Got any beer in here? I see the cheese, bread, and meats....... I suspect you're hiding the beer...... ;)
I have a fridge for that... it’s my beer fridge in the garage...
TheMudyOne same
Thanks for the perspective! As an American, most of these questions seem like pretty standard topics for light conversation.
As an american... My fridge is open... Just not my beer fridge.
I think the root of "Felicia" is "Feliz" which is "happiness." Your smile can light the darkest day.
Felicia is supposed to mean the happy one (female)
Cheesy bro. Or bra haha. For sure cheesy as f**8

You’re a beautiful young lady. It’s a pleasure watching your videos. I’m glad you chose the USA as your home.
It's so refreshing to come across an intelligent, cultured, and open-minded RUclipsr!!
I was delighted to learn that you are from Bavaria. When I studied German at university, my teacher said, "If you want to sound like a native German, you must decide where you want to be from." I said, "Bavaria." Twenty years later, I was on the Mall in Washington, DC. I heard a German tourist say to his wife (in German) "If I don't find a toilet soon, I will explode." I mustered up my best German and told him how to find what he needed. Then, in pefect English, he said, "How long did you live in Bavaria?" I have never lived in Bavaria, but I had a renewed appreciation for my German teacher.
You speak English so well I didn't even know you were German! You had great teachers plus you said you learned from American movies and music. Well done!!
Fer SURE! SOMEtimes, you even sound a little TOO "American".
I hate the "American" demonym because America is SUCH a big place and others deserve it as much or more than the normal run of ignorant US citizens do, IMO.. North America is one half occupied by Canada, the "more polite Americans". Then, South America is Ginormous and infinitely diverse; Central America is pretty big, and the Caribbean islands are great fun. Sadly, I've been overruled by just about the whole world, so will settle for feeling a little chauvinist when I use it.
@@jerelull9629 You have a lot of hate in you! You need to get some help. Nothing I said deserved such as NASTY reply!
You are friggin adorable! Such a bright and beautiful young lady... and such fun and entertaining videos! 💕
I'm happy I found this gem of a channel, it's a fun way to learn about German culture :)
And a much more effective way than geography class

I feel the same since age of 14 and now 48 the desire is still there.. Learning the language is worth the challenge..I live in Orrville Ohio and wish I was in Cincinnati and be around such an infectious personality and the philosophy on life and destiny.. That is an awakened mind and be proud of the wisdom you have for age.Keep flying high...❤️

Monty Python had a great joke about watered down American Beer.
"It's like making love in a canoe."
"What!? How!?"
"It's fucking close to water!"
Is it possible to thin water? Try American beer
And are there differences between American Budweiser and the original czech one? I thought it is imported from Czech Republic??? 🤔 But yeah, American beer is coloured water... 😂
No American beer USED to be very light and bland. Then in the 80s the laws were changed in Oregon and the craft brewing revolution started. Now there are FAR more breweries in the Portland area than anywhere in Europe. And the variety is amazing. But Feli is right about the current trend in craft beer which is HOPS.
I can't stop looking at her eyes she's absolutely beautiful
She makes me want to learn German! You’re so right she is gorgeous, and her eyes are mesmerizing.

You are the best goodwill ambassador Germany ever had. The dialogue you establish between cultures is wonderful. Keep up the great work, you are doing humanity a true service and having a good time. Your ambassador Emily Haber in DC should recognize your efforts.
You are one of my favorite people on RUclips. Thank you!... I'm originally from Cincinnati. I grew-up in Springdale about 20 minutes north of downtown Cincinnati.
You still have a German accent. Very, very slight. But, there. It's adorable.
Grüß gott, Felicia. Somehow the algorithm gods recommended your channel to me. What hooked me, aside from your lovely aura, was the fact that you are from München. I am a New Yorker that embarked on a 10 year quest to visit 100 countries and all 50 US states by the time I was 30. I started 2 months after my 20th Geburtstag, and began my travels in a small town called Xela, Guatemala to study Spanish. At the Spanish school I made 2 friends. A lovely girl named, Nadine, from Switzerland, and a gentleman from München, named Andre. We bonded and traveled throughout Central America together. I was going to be in Spain for a month, so when I arrived to Europe for the very first time, Andre told me to come on by to München. He was going on many job interviews with Siemens, Bosch, etc. and said to use the apt for as long I wanted. I lived on Pilgersheimer Straße; went on jogs in the evening; bought delicious bread every morning. This is when the Deutsche Marke was still around. Everything felt like it was half price for me. I really cherished my time there. Andre is now a Prof. Dr. in München, and I'm a biomedical engineer in Phoenix, Arizona. Looking to head back this autumn, as it will be 20 years since I've been in Bavaria. Anyways, hope you are well and wish you all the best. Auf Wiedersehen!
It's funny watching this video today, seeing younexcited about having 20k subscribers when today you're almost 20 times that number! Very cool to see that success for you. You made an interesting point about meeting Americans and saying you're from Germany. I think every American watching your videos is evidence about how interested and curious many of us are in meeting people from other cultures. I always find I want to know more about where people come from when I find out they're not from here. Your videos are perfect for that! Keep up the great work!!
I like how you balance things you don't like with things you do like. People often tend to only focus on the "don't like" things, especially Germans.
Yes this is 100% true Americans are very open to complete strangers its weird how Germans are kind of closed off. Any American would be like what the heck is wrong with them if we waved to you and you did not wave back or smile. That is something I love about my culture is the openness and friendliness with strangers.
You have developed a positive life philosophy, admirable in a young person.
You can still hear her accent. I find it lovely. Greetings from Norway
Felicia - I have no doubt that you would be welcomed and be successful where ever you decide to settle. Your great attitude is so refreshing!
Not even a month later, and your subs have already more than doubled!
@xellossaxon I didn't know about her until she did a video with Nalf.
Up 8 times that now!
People are drawn to unpretentious, genuine folks. Although her videos are focused on just her talking there's nothing really narcissistic about them and that's refreshing here in the land of the self-absorbed.
@Grand Day Hilarious how this doesn’t get autodeleted but when I link something like that to help someone else, it does.
@@thecatfather857 I reported it just now - i'm very surprised why it's not gone.
I was stationed in Wildflecken "West" Germany in the 70's while serving in the Army. I absolutely loved Germany. You're bringing back good memories. Southern Wisconsin, where I'm from, has a lot of German, Nordic and Slavic heritage that I came to understand more after living in Europe.
I just came upon your posts and find them informative and fascinating.
I have a neighbor from France , a good friend from Belgium, whose married to a Philopino girl, I've done work in Russia and Guatemala, my eldest son just married a girl from India, we had a woman from Sierria Leone who with her daughter lived with my wife and I, a while back, ...the world, truly is "smaller" than it once was. Especially with the internet. One of the things that amazed me about Europe is that going from say: Germany to Paris..., it was a totally different culture! Like going from Wisconsin to Iowa. But a different nationality. America truly is a blending pot that I took for granted. Thanks for being who you are and sharing your perspectives.
And "Gudentag!"😉👍
I lived in Wildflecken too in the 70’s in the Army. Also fell in love with Germany
ditto loved Germany. Lived in Kitzingen but my best friend from college lived in Wildflecken and I visited him when I lived in Germany 1970-72. 10th Engineer Battalion 3rd ID
You really are a very special genuine person! Be proud! No bells and whistles needed when you come across so sincere and make such great content! 🤩
Your English is spot on. And easy on the eyes. Wish you well in your endevours.
Watching this now, she's at over 220,000. Doing great 👍
We love you.
You are delightful , exceptionally smart, affectious . your smile light up the room
You're an awesome young woman! So glad I found your videos. I was born in Cincinnati ( about a million years ago- I'm m old) and I love the German influence in the city. While I am fluent in German my accent isn't nearly as good as your American accent. Be well and stay safe🙂
This channel was randomly recommended to me and im glad it was. You're a fantastic ambassador for Germans. If you ever get the chance, you should visit Buffalo, NY. The food and people are incredible.
You are such a joy to watch and learn from. Thank you for all these wonderful little videos! 😀
I'm sure there's a lot of comments like this on her videos, but Felicia is extremely beautiful.

Yes she is!
Hell yeah

Great video. You chose meaningful questions to answer and I really appreciate it. You are such a great ambassador for Europe and Germany in particular.
You have made this pandemic so much more tolerable. I want to thank you! I don’t remember how I found you, but I am glad I did and wish I found you sooner!
I absolutely LOVE that you thanked your teacher. Teachers are so important, and it's important to recognize them.
Love your honesty and humility ❤ great answers
I'm glad to hear you speak favorably of America and Americans! Thank you!
I love the way you answered the question about being happy and positive. It was clear that you want people to be realistic, and to know that you are a very real person. It was sweet.
I love skyline, but you are absolutely right about their lifeless decor and ambiance
Wait you can get a 16 ounce bottle of beer for 50 cents in Germany? Forget what the president says I’m On my way!
Beer is a cultural asset for Germans, we even call it "Grundnahrungsmittel" which means staple food.
$0.25 for 330ml in most of Asia. Nothing to do with the coronavirus!
Considering that every social event is being cancelled now, that good beer really is the only thing that is keeping us from having a complete mental breakdown atm. Literally a Grundnahrungsmittel.
Sincerely (and Prost),

I'm on a plane now on my way LOL
If you are a US citizen the ban does not apply.
I recently discovered your channel, I must say, your videos are very informative and fun. You have such a delightful "basket of springtime" personality.
I absolutely love your smile, I've learned a few new things about Germany because of you
Keep the videos coming. Your positive energy is so refreshing!!!
Weird I am a older American Großvater I came upon this video by chance… my mother’s mother was born in Germany (Baden-Baden). I understand it’s beautiful. I pressured my nana to go back as she inherited a lot of property… she refused to go (she was afraid of dying there) she even forbade me from checking it out.. one thing I remember about my Oma… the German food was always delicious… the Irish side of my family?… not so much.. ( I still eat herring on New Years. Im an old man now but I still miss my grandmother..)
My middle name came from some German relative “Victor” …
Anyway, I wish you all the best, you are a lovely young lady…
Timsongs. Sweet! You should go just once! You owe it to yourself.
Ive been to Munich and Berlin but want to go back both and the nordsee/ostsees to retrace some of my mom's steps.
My mom got back their properties in 90s and divided profit among many relatives. Only one they didnt get back was on baltic sea and had been made into a residence for senior citizens.
Even if you only go for a week, it is worth it to have real german bread &beer, sausage, cheeses, the architecture, natural landscapes.
I can almost guarantee you even eating tasty German food, you'll lose weight and feel so much better.
Herring. My mom loved herring(from the north)
You ought go just for the baths in Baden Baden 🛁 😂 now, i want to go! 😂
Always remember my five years living in Deutschland fondly, especially living there during the height of the Cold War and the fall of the wall and reunification. Had a front row to history stationed in Wiesbaden with the US Air Force. Also have extended German family members who live about 20 clicks south of Mannheim in the state of Baden-Württemberg I would visit often.
Your videos are great, always. Scott, it's her smile for me. She always has a great smile, even when she has to present us with bad news she can't not smile!! I like your smile!! Always keep it happy.

Love the video and finding out more about you on a personal level. I know people can often get too personal, so don't let them. Stay warm up there!
Thank you very much not only for hosting Q&A videos, but for your channel in general. The topics are always interesting, the discussions engaging, and the information illuminating. It's enjoyable to hear about how American and German culture are simultaneously familiar yet dissimilar, and we all greatly appreciate your thoughts on such a breadth of subjects. I know I've certainly learned a great deal about Germany, Bavaria, and even Cincinnati, and I look forward to learning even more.
Thanks ever so much, Feli! As with so much on RUclips, I stumbled across your videos by accident - but they're really super (and well made), your personality is delightful and the topics are of great interest. In fact, I find the videos rather addictive! :o (I've experienced German-British and Polish-British differences, and was married to a German, at one time.) Tchuß!
You have such an infectious smile! I keep finding myself smiling back 😂
Danke!
Blessings Feli ! You will be successful in whatever field of endeavor you choose!
Beginning to understand why my father loves Germany, he was raised there and now we're in the US. I want to thank you for giving me a link to the culture and what life in Germany is like. Dankeschön!
You are a very genuine and happy person. You are the kind of individual who gets to one plateau and then on to the next. You are enjoying your journey and fully appreciating every moment. I wish you well.
Thank you for making my day. I love watching your videos, it was by chance I started watching your videos and now I watch you all the time. Your beautiful smile and your stories makes me smile, thank you again from this old mans heart God Bless you Jim
Thank you.
And now, you are almost at 180,000 subscribers!!
Very interesting videos, I've watched about 10 in the last couple hours.
Congrats on the 20,000 my beautiful German friend.
I enjoy your content quite a bit Feli. Your exuberance is really becoming and I like the topics you cover. I worked for a German company for 13 years and speak a little and have had work and personal relationships with German people, so I always enjoy hearing you pronounce things in your native language. Nice having you here and take care. Auf viedersehn!

THIS WAS A REALLY GOOD Q&A!
#askagerman America is happy to have you. How would you compare politics between the two countries? Also your videos have inspired me to finally make a plan to visit Germany!
Whoa! you went from 20K subscribers in March 2020 to almost 200K in November! That is impressive! You deserve it, your videos are interesting and you are quite pretty!
Just came across your videos a week ago but enjoy seeing you and your ventures in Cincinnati and to be able to broaden your experiences in life. Welcome to America!
Love this video so much! Been following you for about 2 weeks now and have seriously binged on your content. I, too, love Mexican Food and don’t think it’s that hard to be nice and kind. That said, there’s definitely rudeness in America but we are pretty open and positive people! You’ve made me appreciate that! And I thoroughly enjoy you and learning loads from you!! Thank you for enlightening us and expanding my knowledge and global awareness, that’s wonderful and amazing! You are beautiful and lovely and we’re lucky to have you in America and on RUclips!

I've been very happily married for more than 50 years so I say this with all propriety and respect all around. I think that you're adorable. It's so nice to hear and see you. I know that my wife and I would become good friends with you if we met.
Nice growth in the last year. Congratulations
Really enjoying your videos. They way you speak so clearly and explain things is very engaging. I'm half German but never learned much about it. I find your videos really fun to watch. Also enjoy you're honesty. Keep it up. Even been to NY?
That was really cool Feli! When I studied foreign language my teacher loved how my accent fell into that language when speaking, it is the ear. If a good man does not capture your heart, it is their loss. Through highs and lows may life always smile upon you, your feet always find the straight true path, and your eyes remain bright and clear... :-)
You have a wonderful speaking voice and great communication skills. I see broad cast journalism or maybe spokesperson in your future. LoL. You would be great.
Yes, I see this too. Deutsche Welle here Felicia comes!
why? she s making more money off her subscribers than she would get working for someone else!
Thanks Felicia, for being so open with yourself.
Nice of you to do that,, most people are not to open like you.
For myself not a open person, after watching you I think I need to be more open.
Thanks for your info.
What I like about your videos is they make me feel much better about my personality. When I went through college, my roommates and friends thought I was kind of rude and weird because of how I act or speak in certain situations. In some of your videos, you explain me perfectly! Very glad you're enjoying your time in Cincinnati. Pennsylvania and Ohio have a massive German community.
"Drunk and starving"...there has got to be a great story there.
Yeah, we need more details on those shenanigans.
Probably a normal week end ^^
It’s perfectly normal for most young Europeans.
Alcohol: Because no great story ever began "Well I eating a salad..." (No offence Felicia, that's just how the saying goes).
"Drunk and starving" was pretty much my default status on any weekend between the age of 15-23. It´s like completetly normal for young germans, especially from rural areas lol. A lot of awesome stories nonetheless so, there still could be a good one behind it.
I tuned in just to see if my question had been answered, and while I wasn’t answered specifically, my question was. I’m musical as well but have never considered how that might affect accents. You may have given me some insight into myself!
Hello Felicia, I just came across your site here and wanted to say welcome and congratulations on all you have accomplished so far in your brief stay here in this country so far. It appears you are well on your way to finding your way into a career that will end up suiting you in such a way that will make you not only happy, but will also make you a very successful young lady. You are already very well spoken and carry yourself in a truly professional manner which I am certain will serve you very well. This is just the first video of yours that I have looked at, so I have no questions at this time as I will first take a look at a few more if it's alright with you? Other than that for now, take care and welcome again to America...:) Mark

Most Mexican food in the U.S. is “Tex-Mex”, which is very much American.
Just go to a Mexican restaurant that Mexicans like to frequent for the "Real Deal".
@@balancedactguy real deal is in Mexico. I'm Mexican American and even here at home it's not authentic Mexican food. It's a more simple version.
I've had both. I've had Tex-Mex. I've eaten in Mexico. And I've had some barrio "this place doesn't pass health code, nobody here speaks English, what are you doing here whetto" Mexican food in the states. It's a little different. But it's still all pretty close.
@@balancedactguy Mexicans like Tex-Mex too. Just because it's not the same as the food in Mexico doesn't mean it's not delicious.
This is true. I'm from midwest, now live in texas, but grew up and spent most of my life in San Diego. Only California, for me, had authentic mexican (specifically baja mexican). I dont love tex mex and it is the norm in most USA.
