Was the tight switch on as well during the video or it was off and you were only using your boost to tight the amp up? I'm asking because the video of the full band mix that Orange released made it sound really really tight and aggressive on its own, which was really appealing to me. I've owned twice the RV MK1 100 back in the day and while I loved the overall sound, I always thought it was juuust a bit too fuzzy and flubby, even with a boost in front.
yes the boost to tighten it up no i didn’t not have the tight switch engaged because i like the orange flub in the tone this is however less flubby than the SC100 but not by a whole lot
the hissing sound is what happens when you run a lot of gain at a high volume it goes away if i turn the gain down i am using a gate but a gate really prevents feedback and not hissing unless you use it in both the front and back of the amp at the same time but the 4 cable method has its pros and cons
@@SyzygyEmbracewithout sounding like a dork i mean lower mids, this amp has balls, but there is a warm/roundness to the lower mids of a tube amp that solid state doesn’t grab like metallica used barely any bass on their early albums and their tones were so beefy at times
Have you run this into the return of the Rockerverb? Does it have more immediate attack compared to the rockerverb or just more attack?? Thanks for the video.
@@tyroneenglish8396it’s not a good idea to run an amp into an fx loop because there is no load resistance as if you were plugging into a cab, you would need a slave input to not risk overloading the transformer as far as attack, it is way sharper while retaining that orange saggy flavor we all love, but it absolutely bites faster than any of my tube orange amps. it really isn’t fair to compare it to the rockerverb because it’s not a replacement for it, it’s just another cool thing orange did and if you like solid state tones then you’ll fr love this amp.
you ever listen to the band dead sun? lick at 2:34 reminded me of them. really dope tone in this, got me hyped to try one
i honestly never have but i will check them out! and thank you!
This sounds really great actually. The SC100 I had felt muted in the distortion but this sounds much better.
yeah i didn’t hate the SC100 i had but i wasn’t in love with it either
It takes a lot of volume for it to sound good or at low volume it works well, how does it compare in volume to the rockerverb, thank you!
low volume works amazing
anything cranked sounds good
my RV have my MV/5 and Att/7-4 depending on how loud i can be at home

It reminds me of the SC100 but meaner
honestly it’s what i wished the SC100 was
I can’t listen to this. What is all that insane background noise? Is that the amp? Do you need a gate on it?
i have a gate on (only in front not in loop)
all of that hiss is from how loud the amp is / how high i have the gain
What is the noise?

How's it compared to the rockerverb?
it has way more attack but isn’t as full
@@uncledakotah sounds great, by full do you mean it does not have as many lows?

That hiss
it’s worse from being filmed with a phone than it is IRL
