The tab part doesn't work for me. And the right alignment icon doesn't show on the ruler.

I usually just use a table for this: 1 row, 2 columns. You can easily adjust the alignment in each cell (then remove the borders so it's not visible).

This is not working for me. When I place the right tab and then tab over, the cursor moves, but when I start typing, it moves to the next line. The tab option shortcut that it on the left of your ruler does not show on my ruler. I am on Word online on a Mac.

This only works for one line. When I press tab on some other line in word, the cursor does not move to the place where I marked it on the horizontal ruler. Is there some way to make it so that whenever I press tab my cursor goes at exactly the place where I marked it on ruler no matter at which line on word I am?

Well after all these years of using Word, there is very little I use of it but, I would of done this in a table with two columns and hidden the borders but I thought there must be a better way and yes there is cheers from that.
