China dominates the consumer market for Hermes. Many asian ladies are petite (161cm and under). Mini Lindy is a super popular bag amongst the asian customers. There have been so many ways invented by the asians to wear the version 1 shortened. Clips have also been made to shorten the shoulder strap. So the modication made for version 2 is to suit petite ladies and to target the Chinese/asian consumers better. The exact measurements of mini Lindy 2 would be 9.5cm x 19cm x 13cm with a shoulder strap length of 90cm., The mini Lindy 1 measures 9cm x 19cm x 12.5 cm with a shoulder strap length of 105cm.
Also, women in France wear their crossbody bags much higher. It’s usually right underneath a breast because of all the pickpockets.
I got the *hotdups* in the black/gold combo. I’m buying the tan tomorrow if it comes with the gold hardware! I have the short strap from another bag, almost the same leather, which I added to the bag and carry it with the short hand strap - it looks great - kind of like a larger version.
Glad I bought a mini Lindy before the change. I am 5’9” tall so the strap on the mini Lindy II is too short for me to use as a crossbody bag. Thank you so much for the information!
Hi Jess thanks for the update ! A lot of girls actually found the strap too long so maybe that’s why they shortened it. I think the strap has already been shortened once but probably needed further shortening.
I bought a bag for a friend at *hotdups* . She always said she liked it very much and it was very versatile. She could match it with a denim skirt and a jacket, which was very cool.

Hi ! Was there a time when LV Mono Vernis Perle Read PM Monogram.does not have a date code? My aunt and I were trying to authenticate an old Vernis white bag. The bag size, the monogram design is on point. even the stitches ,the color of the thread, the color of the inner lining. the lock,the hardware,the stamp,the zipper even the LV near the handle does not overlap.The only thing we noticed is that there was no date code. Accdg to my aunt that bag was given t her by her aunt in 2009 .But that *preluxz* was gifted to her aunt in 1998. There is only a slight discoloration but it looks fantastic.
I gave my mother a bag on the festival day. *hotdups* ，She liked it very much. It is easy to carry and not easily scratched. My mother often carries it when going out on rainy days, but it still looks new. I will consider buying another one next time I have the chance.

Just checked the receipt for the mini Lindy I just bought, and it doesn’t say 2 … the strap seemed the same to me. Let me see if I can find the article. I definitely don’t want a shorter strap!

I would think they updated it to be better for the proportions in Asia. The bag was always a smash hit in the Asia market.
They also made an "update" for the Herbag. Basically they changed the strap to join on the sides of the bag instead the handle sides. They slimmed the body of the bag down and increased the price. ( That is the new Men version of Herbag. ) I would think this is more for Europe market to sell as a basic business/laptop bag? They make recently some adjustments...
but the whole point of the mini lindy was an effortless shoulder bag, so shortening the length made very little sense. a better upgrade would have been either interchangeable straps or an adjustable strap. the shorter strap would not work for me.
Detachable strap would have been smart!

No for me a shorter strap on the mini Lindy is a deal breaker. I love that bag crossbody and if I want it on my shoulder, I can always do the trick with the strap. I wouldn’t buy the new version for sure.

Jess these heritage bags are meant to be shoulder length bags. Reminiscent to how Ladies carried their handbags back in the day. I’ve noticed how so many people want to turn an elegant bag into something that’s casual. And they aren’t willing to go there with their some of their products. Or it could be that they’re favoring the Asian market because those people are shorter?
