    Man, I have 40 miles now in my Endorphin speeds and wow, what a great shoe. To be honest, if someone wanted to save a little money on their go to racing shoe / tempo shoe, this is the one to buy. One can buy the speeds and with the money left over, put it into a race, fancy socks, or maybe some RUclips merch. When it comes to the TC, I have to be honest. The looks of the shoe has kept me away, but everyone seems to love those shoes. Anyways, great comparison choice and keep killing those miles for us lol.

    Had my first run yesterday in the Endorphin Speed. What a ride! 😃 I believe this will be a top selling shoe. My running shoe of year 2020. 😃👍😁 Thanks for the comparison, Mike.

    I hear you on the TC. I had my first “fluid” run in them today, after 80 miles on the odometer. It was something of an epiphany and I am excited to use them going forward. Then again, I’m not lucky enough to have the Endorphin Speed to which to compare them!

    Have the RC elite v2 and speed v1 and feel the NB is way more enjoyable to run in given my body type and fitness: I’m 200lbs and run typically 8:30 miles but sometimes dip in the 7’s on tempo days. I’ve used the Speed on recent 10K and had some significant hip pain whereas I’ve had no pain with RC…for what it’s worth

    Can't wait for my Speeds to show up. I always liked the nylon plate in my Zoom Flys and felt I could get more out of it than a carbon plate.

    • @htmonaro1969
      @htmonaro1969 4 года назад

      I have the original Zoom Fly and ran a half in my son's Zoom Fly 3s last year. I think the nylon plate in the original better suited me, even though the later version also has react foam. I ran a full marathon 5 or 6 weeks before the half in my old shoes so it was a good comparison.

    The Fuel Cell TC has become my daily trainer. If I have a nit to pick, it’s that they feel slightly unstable at lower speeds. This shoe is amazing at higher paces though.

    Totally agree with you! I own both and I also feel the disconnect with my TC (although I still enjoy it). The Speed is so much smoother through the gait cycle. I use my TC for slow long runs to slightly harder efforts and use my speed for blasting a LR or intervals or really anything. Both great but the speed is everything

    I totally get what you mean re: the foam in the TC. Best I can do metaphor wise is to compare it to the big chunky mechanical keyboards that have a lot of travel but a really satisfying typing feel, whereas the PWRRUN PB has more of an ultralight laptop keyboard type of sensation, where typing feels swifter and more fluid. Both are pleasant, just very different.

    I have 300mi on my TCs. Here's how it the lifecyle went for me:
    - Miles 0-30: bouncy pogo sticks
    - Miles 30-200: total softness, the best phase
    - Miles 200+: getting flatter every run, with a problematic amount of pronation.
    Hoping to get more on sale someday but until then, new Endorphin Speeds arrive tomorrow!!!

    • @kofuzi
      @kofuzi  4 года назад

      interesting. i was thinking that the TCs would be good to about 200 miles.

    • @phl0w666
      @phl0w666 4 года назад

      My TCs are at 220km, and my experience is roughly the same. First three runs in three days added up to 70km (20-30-20) because running in the TCs felt so effortless, without fatiguing my legs whatsoever. Afterwards the ride kinda "normalized" for the next 150km, and I started to feel a hint of instability, which wasn't an issue so far, even cornering was great. A pro runner I know reported that his were completely done after 300km.
      That said, I also have the Speed, and the ride is more "uniform", resulting in a smoother gait cycle.

    I have had the TC for a little over a week now, only did 3 10k in them, but really love them. In my normal tempo I just have so much more tempo and my legs feel more fresh after a run even after a days work. Pricepoint is not so much of an issue for me, if you compare the price to Nikes plate shoes.

    • @tymyatt8768
      @tymyatt8768 4 года назад

      @@tymyatt8768 The zoom fly 3's seem to work for some people. I found them too stiff as compared to the TC. And if you want something that feels like a Vaporfly, it would be the TC. I got the ZF3's for less the 1/2 the price of a TC, and I would pay for the TC over that shoe. It's that much better of a ride.

    I am running the Fuelcell TC now 400km. First it was a only for sunday paceday. Then it becomes my daily trainer. It is amazing feel
    of easy pace even on slow runs it makes me run faster pacer on less afford. You describe the feel of the shoe amazing good. I am now wondering what the Fuellcell TC EnergyStreak is ? It it only new color or have they reduced the sole? The description is more racing like. To the price point New Balance gives often 15-20% for first buyers so in fact it is cheaper than any other carbon plated shoe.

      Big and old too. I have the tc's. They were really weird starting out - felt really unstable and weird - like trailrynning when on asphalt - the shoe bendibg in weird positions. They sort of forced overpronation. I have 70 miles in them now - much better! They now feel great on asphalt and even gravel too. My legs felt really good in them running a 10k yesterday - they do propel me more than other shoes. Kofuzi is right though that they feel mechanical and i cant walk in them - they feel so weird. But when u pick the pace up they feel better and better. They r a bit loose too in mesh and upper. With all this said the shoe really transforms after 150km. Would i buy it again. No. The forced overpronation/unstsbility in curves when walking and slow running is too weird.

    Thanks for this comparison. I don't have either shoe (yet), so I can't agree or disagree. What I don't understand is Saucony's marketing of the Speed as a speed day shoe (not only in its name). I follow Molly Seidel on Strave and she actually seems to use it that way. Is it a shoe for long runs, especially with some tempo work thrown in, or is it a shoe for mile repeats and such? • @Prof.RClaro
      @Prof.RClaro 4 года назад

      Well, there is no Saucony where I live... Thus I can only comment the TC (in comparison to Zoom Fly 3). The TC is softer on landing and the plate effect is far more noticeable... Kind of a middle point between the ZF3 and the Next%. Although, I do perceive the TC as being more stable than both of these shoes. Entering fast on close corners always causes me a weird sensation with the ZF3... Feel nothing with the TC. Finally, the TC is far more breathable. Other than the price, I can't comparing about anything so far. Best regards, greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

I am asking because you have reviewed all 4 shoes and as we all know the big hitters form the Swoosh is are Next (Tempor Next% or Vaporfly Next%) which fall in this class.. How does the Speed fit, as I have found Saucony shoes a bit narrow for my foot? I ran in a demo pair of Triumphs with the run club at my local running shoe store and my pinky toe went numb after just 5k. I my have been able to go a half size bigger, but my son got those. He ended up getting a pair a half size bigger and does all his long runs in those. Because the Endorphin range is so hot right now, I doubt I will get much of a choice, so my have to buy them online, so knowing whether a half size bigger will be ok is the real question for me.

      to the extent that we think reviewers shouldnt be paid ever, we are missing the point. we should be careful when someone pays you before you say something or if you have an extended relationship with a brand. even then, i don't think that's necessarily fatal, so long as it is disclosed.

    Passed the 100 miles mark on the TC, all along I've been experimenting their best use. Did some speed work, trying to benefit from the carbon plate, but didn't see any big benefit. Tried on long runs, while the whole midsole helped absorbing the miles and get the legs rolling thanks the carbon plate, I had issues with the upper, particularly the tongue slipping down the foot. As a daily trainer, they work very well, they get me to a nice comfort zone / pace without any difficulty, but I have other shoes for that. So keeping them for the long runs, I've managed to hold the tongue somewhat in place passing the laces through the holes in the tongue itself :-P.
    In general, I just wished they would just disappear more under the foot (a la Hoka Rincon), they always remind me they are here either positively or negatively. Oh and please, can someone tell NB to fix their insoles? In my super humid (hence sweaty) conditions, they are just become a useless piece of fabric that just fold under the foot...
