  • What do you do with a rented Unimog, a borrowed Jeep, and a whole bunch of power behind them? Break shit. Break all the shit. This time on RDD the crew take on the hills of Coffs Harbour. Wheel lifts, broken 4WDs and more shotguns than you can point a shotgun at.

      Rod Palmer must be a record for Jeep we literally had a grand Cherokee delivered without a head gasket parts are just about impossible to get out of fca (even service parts-6weeks on pollen filters 3days on brakes that were coming from Melbourne to Sydney when I can get parts out of kias warehouse in Perth next day) the dealer support is nonexistent (ie it took 3 months for witech to be set up on fca’s end not to mention there tech support not knowing how to diagnose a car ditto if you need a special tool your better off ordering it from Snap-On or trying to borrow of another dealer)
      That’s all before the sensor and module failures we went through when we were a dealer and the trims that fell apart like stuff we may have done once a year with the other brands we were doing once a week on Jeep but yeh Jeeps are great NOT

    • @titaniumquarrion9838
      @titaniumquarrion9838 5 лет назад

      @Yuck Foutube Agree.
      Fucking ridiculous tyres and un-necessary lift equals decreased power and torque, increased fuel consumption, decreased braking, increased drive-line stress (and blown CVs), scrubbing, wheel well damage, higher CoG, increased body roll, reduced on=road handling. computer calibration error (which can affect everything from traction and stability control to odometer). Yeah you get some more clearance but if the only upsides to all the previous downsides is 50mm of clearance (going from 31' to 35') and a little more traction forget it. If drivers ability to make a track counts on that 50mm of diff clearance they have bigger issues.
      Lockers are a better investment and being able to to drive or simply stop and do some track building, use maxtracks or go for the winch earlier rather than too late etc. The only issue I ever have running 30.5' - 31.5' tyres on a 2' lift is diff clearance when I come across tracks rutted to hell by Muppets running 35-37' tyres. Funnily enough I always get through though and I have yet to blow a CV. and the anger drivers I know don't have repeated CV issues either but they aren't running 35'+ tyres and massive lifts.
      Oh I forgot - of course it looks mean right?

    Glad the tracks gave the usual welcome. As for Pebbly when ever you get the chance to return go the surf end of the creek and there is a solid bottom to drive over close to the rocks plus it is very shallow on a low tide. Some people wonder why so many locals own 4wds . . . because we need them, lol!

    My buddy up here in the US has a Tacoma and had a similar issue with the CVs, 60k miles on the original axle and it broke so he put in an after market replacement, they would break on almost every track. So he spent an extra few bucks on an OEM replacement and hasn't had an issue yet, currently traveling the country. Coincidentally, I have a Wrangler Rubicon and have yet to snap an axle shaft so, there's that.

He mentioned he hadn't dome a CV for the first 80 thousand km so your comment is not only baseless it's fucking stupid.

      Shut up Juan it’s not their car to beat on peronsally I wouldn’t want to be the one to have to explain to the owner how you put a giant dent in a panel or ripped something off , as Danny said it’s an expensive car and probably a show piece for its owners business, they can all drive quite competently and obviously know their limits. Danny did the sensible thing and backed down and changed his line yes he probably could have stomped on the loud pedal and bounced it up but what’s the point. They aren’t tearing around ripping up tracks or hurting anybody bad comment dude bad comment ( P.S RDD great ep one of the best yet )
