Just started this mod and was debating between subclasses, and this guide was perfect!! Would certainly make the Gortash fight interesting-

Artificers are supposed to be half casters…. Let alone broken bg3 summoning and companion interactions with accessing spells earlier than the 5e version intended!

That's one of my favorite parts about bg3, that you can take these classes and do just about anything with them! This subclass actually wasn't performing very well for me until I decided to try combining the effects of warding bond with force conduit and damage reduction armor, which is something you can still do with other summoning subclasses in BG3. Pretty much any build in the game can be made broken with the right combo of gear and effects. There definitely are some pretty nutty spells that I hardly even touched on, like lightning bolt among others

To be honest, this artificer mod seems to be pretty overpowered and not really in line with the pen and paper class. I play with the very long tested mod by KiderionLykon, which is patch 7 supported and much closer to the original artificer class. Artificer is overpowered as it is (playing a gnome artificer in one of my DnD campaigns and feel the need to apologize to my DM after every battle), you don't need to give them stuff, they don't have in the game: From the beginning of the your video I see spells like Magic Missile, Thornwhip and some others, that are not available for core artificer. One of the subclasses can get Magic Missile, but it is not a core spell.
I give you a thumbs up, because you do a great job explaining everyithing, but I really recommend trying the other atrificer mod by KiderionLykon.

The main reason I stuck with this class mod is just because it's available on the in-game mod manager which means console players will be able to use this guide once the mod gets approved for console.
I've used the other Artificer class mod before and love it! I definitely agree it's a little more true to the tabletop version and that the mod manager one gets access to some incredibly powerful spells. I think most of the broken aspects of this build come from exploiting the way warding bond synergizes with force conduit and other damage reduction equipment, which is a strategy you could still do with something like a cleric for instance.

@@BeefSis Understandable, I hope the real artificer mod comes to the in-game MM too. But another problem with this mod is, that on top of everything else, this mod gives you access to spells , an artificer shouldn't have access to. You can of course go one or two levels of wizard in game and just learn them, but this mod is very overpowered. It is, what I thought, our artificer/ Chosen of a god boss Gortash would be in his bossfight 😁

Thorn Whip is on the artificer spell list in tabletop.

Just the two in combat! I felt like this iteration of the artificer was better served as a skill monkey so I took a lot of those utility spells and buffs to help with out of combat situations. Baldur’s Gate is more than just the combat, don’t forget!

I found this particular implementation of the artificer incredibly frustrating, especially given how much worse it is than the version not yet available on the official mod manager. It feels like a character class created by someone who is very new to D&D, who doesn't quite understand how to design a class or balance their abilities, and who only took a casual glance at the tabletop version of the class. I mean, from the very start, the creator decided to give level 1 artificers +3/+1 to stats instead of the usual +2/+1, "just cuz" and didn't note that anywhere in the mod description. You literally start out essentially four levels ahead of every other character in your ability score progression and the creator doesn't even think it's a big deal. I know modders are amateurs but this one really feels like one.

I wasn’t entirely sure about the +3/+1 deal myself, but obviously decided to just roll with it. I’ve never played the artificer in tabletop so I’m not very familiar with how it usually works outside of this mod myself

Bro cry more. Make your own instead of bitching about someone else's creation.
