The one you mentioned that looks like someone important is YG, he is the founder of YG Entertainment. Rosé is actually not a solo KPOP artist, she if from BLACKPINK and yes she's from the same company. Idk about other KPOP idol but YG artist do a lot of solo work while still being in the group.

That song in the background is titled DINASAUR by AKMU.. AKMU is a sister/brother duo..the best kpop duo..the brother write, produce and compose all their songs..they won a singing competition in korea using their original songs. They were only 14 and 12 at that time. They signed in YG after the competition

Idt your info is accurate haha there are loads of rappers in first gen kpop groups, such as GOD, H.O.T etc and big bang is 2nd gen, so idt big bang is the FIRST group to have rappers haha

    • @13dg
      @13dg Год назад +4

@@henryng149 i think he meant underground rappers. At least that is how i took it.
I remember BigBang being mentioned as the first time an underground rapper debuted in a kpop idol group (T.O.P). Even tho it can be questionable, since there are at least one or 2 other that can be considered as well.
On the other hand, he could be trying to say the first (mainstream) company to focus fully on hiphop/rapping. Which again, can be arguable, tho it is kinda true that while other companies had their artists use influences of hiphop, YG was pretty much not just influenced by it, but rather fully used it has their main concept.
So we can say that way as well. While other companies also had incorporated hiphop and rapping into their concepts, YG was fully defined by it while still being somewhat mainstream in the industry.

First, I want to say thank you so much for your reaction to Babymonster. I really like listening to your thoughts because they are very interesting. And the longer your videos are, the better for me. It feels like you understand music well. It will be great if you also get to know other artists from YG Entertainment (this company is too good at presenting hip-hop music). First of all, of course with BlackPink, because it was this group that served as inspiration and strength to achieve their dreams for some of the members of Babymonster. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the introducing from Babymonster from you.

I'm happy because your first reaction about kpop is baby monster, those 7 of them are really cool. if you have time you also have to react to their seniors, namely BLACKPINK, they are kpop legends. BLACKPINK has 4 members namely ROSE, LISA, JENNIE and JISOO. and the one in the video introducing haram is ROSE she is BLACKPINK's vocalist. I'm sure you will like it, they also have one member from Thailand named Lisa, her solo debut titled LALISA is very broken and amazing

I started initially making a list ie main dancer, main vocalist, main rapper, but after watching all the introduction videos, that list got chucked out the window. All the girls are a triple threat, they rap, sing and dance equally well just with different styles. I am blown away by the range of skills and talent.

Yes, generally Kpop groups feel more like a family of sisters/brothers than just a group of singers, rappers, and dancers. That is personally my favourite part of kpop and getting into groups. Enjoy your journey and welcome to the community!!

@ 12:18 He is YG, so yes, he's pretty important :D Him and he's brother started the company.
Also to answer your question at 24:20, YGe is one of the biggest entertainment companies in Korea. They don't only do music, they also do movies, television, marketing, etc. So they are quite comparable to Universal Studios. But also in the music industry, they actually handle the distribution of many other entertainment companies' music, so BTS, which is the biggest male group in the world who is under HYB Entertainment (HYBE), YGe actually handles their music distribution and gets a cut of every sale. Many people think BlackPink and BTS are competitors, but they are basically colleagues. The biggest competition in K-Pop is actually the fan wars, not the artists themselves.

    Some Korean cultural notes:
    1) In the end video (Ruka Character Playlist), you hear the other girls keep calling her "Unnie" this is the Korean term for your big sister if you are a girl (a boy that is younger would call her "Noona". She is the eldest of the group and in Korea calling people by the proper honorific is very important.
    2) When they were saying special adult happy birthday to Ruka at new years, this is the Korean tradition of "Korean Age", everybody celebrates their Korean Birthday at new years. The standard way of calculating age is known as "International Age" in Korea. This year, official documents will stop using Korean Age in Korea, and only use International age, but the tradition probably still go on for a while, even if un-official. The reason, is that Korean Age starts at 1 when you are born, and you increment every new years. So if you are born in December, you would be 2 in Korean age in the new years, which can be confusing.
    3) Coffee is sort of considered an adult beverage because in 2018, Energy Drinks and Coffee were banned by the Ministry of Health at all schools high school and under (they commonly found at school vending machines), while you can get coffee at coffee shops, it is generally frowned upon for youth to get it, especially if you are in school uniform. The ban occurred due to a trend of misuse by students of caffeinated drinks, often used to get through testing times and cram schools common in Korea... the result was, quite a few students that overused it got heart palpitations and other health issues... so the ban happened.
    4) In Korea, you are officially a child until age 18, but at age 20 you are allowed to drink, smoke, get drivers license, so that is often considered becoming an adult age.

Also, don't worry for the amount of pausing that you'd do through the entire reaction, as long as if it's necessary then you could do it as much as you want to
Moreover, Kpop fans in general would always prefer a full-lenght reaction instead of the shorter editing, so basically we def demanding you to do a whole raw first impression to the full duration of their videos with less editing and without forcefully making it into a shorter highlight
Also you don't really have to worry about extending your commentary since that type of feedbacks would always much more valuable 🤞😎

He didn't make any public appearences since then until now with babymonster which got everybody surprised.

19:49 What happens is that the entire South Korean population has a birthday on January 1, that is, in reality, everyone is born there at one year old, so Ruka turns 18 because it is a new year but then in March she turns again, but this time not 18 but 19 , that's why when a foreigner asks the age of a Korean he says "foreign age and not Korean" since you would be two years older

Ok so basically in Korea they don't have 0 years old. You are instantly 1 years old when you are born. Then every new years they add an additional year to how old you are. I know this is confusing but just subtract one year from their Korean age to figure out their real age or calculate it based of their birth year.

16:38 kinda true for most, but YG usually is actually criticized for not paying much attention to hard and complex choreos. Their artists always focused a bit more on either interacting with the crowd or leaving space for some changes when performing live. For many years, watching YG artists perform on award shows was something else. they completely turned the cerimonies into their own shows and always hyping the crowd. Most times they didnt even follow the choreos. But eventually the industry changes.
While it was already the norm to have choreos, i personally feel that newer generations are obligated to have a big focus on it, or else they get a lot of criticism.
For example, a few years ago, we had BigBang (also from YG) who would do whatever they wanted on stage. The choreo was already simple, but they still managed to completely ignore it and go to the crowd instead. I feel that if any newer group tries to do that much everyone will start jumping on them for not following the choreo.
Could be wrong, but this is the feel i get, since every time a group does something a little different, you get tons of comments about how they missed the move X or Y.
