I'm not one to complain about the lack of physicality overall in the NBA, but it's agregious to see the biggest and heaviest player on the team falling on his back just by blowing some air into them and then expect (and most of the time outright get) the call. The officiating is also off and without mentioning the recent tech calls, I mean it's the job of the literal BIG man to be physical to get buckets and have to deal with some odd fouls that don't get called. Great video as always bro
Players don't respect Embiid like they do Lebron, Curry, Durant, Giannis, or Jokic. As well, foul calls get tighter in the playoffs the deeper you go. Embiid relying on foul calls to score is a bad habit that doesn't convert to success in the playoffs. Also, scoring isn't scoring and that was a horrendously dumb take from the guy in this video. 30 ppg on 45% shooting isn't the same as 30 ppg on 50% shooting, for example.
Embiid just plays smarter than every other player in the paint. He falls to mitigate the impact on his legs and spread it throughout his body and it’s gonna also get him get those ft shots. The only difference between him and Shaq getting to the line is that Embiid converts his shots 🤷
Hey man great vid. I just disagree with a few of your points. I don’t think that placing him 3rd greatest scorer ever is fair when you put the amount of time he spends on a court. In my opinion he did not deserve an MVP and he is almost as big of a foul merchant as prime harden. He never makes it out of the 2nd round, no matter the talent around him. This is coming from a Boston fan so maybe im biased. But I love the format of your video. Keep it up
hes not the third greatest scorer ever. He has the 3rd highest career ppg ever. Huge difference. And conflating them is extremely dumb. First off: he's mid career, so he hasnt had post prime years to drag his average down. Right now Joel is in his age 29 season. Here is the career ppg only look at years before they turn 30: 1. Wilt 39.6 ppg 2. MJ 32.3 ppg 3. Elgin 30.7 ppg 4. Oscar 30.2 ppg 5. Kareem 29.5 ppg 6. Gervin 28.7 ppg 7. Luka 27.8 ppg 8. Jerry 27.7 ppg 9. Shaq 27.6 ppg 10. Embiid 27.5 ppg . Second of all, highest regular season ppg ≠ best scorer. If you have the highest ppg in the regular season but always fail to replicate it in the playoffs (*cough* Joel *cough*) you're not a better scorer than a Jerry West type who always ramps his scoring up in the post season, against the best defenses. . Third, highest scoring rate (even considering playoffs) ≠ best scorer. If you score 1 more point per game than another dude but you take twice as many shots, and use up twice as many of your teams finite possessions trying to score, then you are not a better scorer than that player. Efficiency is massively important. . Scoring environment needs to be considered. If you play with a teammate that draws tons of defensive attention and so you frequently get wide open dunks that anyone could make, you are not a better scorer than someone who scores slightly less often/effiicient than you but who constantly plays in lineups with bad offensive players/shooters whos defenders can sag off of to stop them from trying to score. . None of these points should be groundbreaking if you actually know and watch the game. Intelligently contextualizing stats with what you see from watching is the only way to do proper analysis. Unfortunately theres not much of that in this video.
The foul bating and flopping is what turns a lot of people off Embid. I'm convinced at least a few of his injury issues have come about because he hits the deck way more than a man of his size should. Yeah he gets to the line a ton making those points easier to get since he has put the work in at the charity stripe to capitalise on it but at what cost to his body over the years.
Love the content man keep it up
thanks homie
why in the hell does the NBA not restrict the flopping. it makes the game worse
Great videos, love the jxmy type content. All it takes is one video to blow up, keep grinding.

I don't agree either that he's the third greatest scorer ever but by the numbers he technically is. thanks for the love bro
