I am about 190 and I run 90a Bushings. I dont do a lot of downhill though. It is mostly carving and a lot of pumping. Been doing some light downhill stuff but never any faster then 25 mph and it isnt for very long till I run out of hill. I am looking for tall cones and tall barrels with a plug for my bear gen 6 trucks. I am going to go with 91A. I just dont want anything that would be any stiffer then what I have now. Which are the stock 90a bushings that come with bear gen 6 180mm 50degrees trucks. I really like the feeling of them, they are very stable but turn so perfectly.
Hello, how has your riding been? I'm looking at venom plug barrel bushings for the bear gen 6s but they don't fit out of the box and need to be sanded down to fit into the bushing seat (which I've literally no idea how to do as I'm new). Looking hard for other plug barrel bushing alternatives that can fit right away but haven't had any luck. Are the stock bushings still good for cruising+carving?
@@TF2ReplayMaker I’ve actually changed my setup quite a bit from a year ago. I run caliber 3 trucks now. Raked 50 degree up front and 44 degree rear ( which is actually 40.5 degrees when you remove the shim on the 44 degree calibers. I also have my front truck wedged 7 degrees for a 57 degree front and a de wedge on the rear so it’s actually a 33 degree rear truck. Bushings I run riptide 75a board side and 70a road side. But I did cut off the plug portion of the venom barrel bushing to use as a insert pushing on the caliber trucks so I can use the nice soft tiptop bushings and still have it plugged so there is no play in the truck. Up front for pumping easily and 95a rear. The board I use is a 36” Bustin Boards Sportster. It’s a great board with a fiberglass core. It’s a drop through deck with a micro drop, pumps amazingly well.
Im looking to get new bushings for my paris 180s. I currently run stock barrels 90a road side and 83.5a Jimz Cones.... Im getting more into freeride and i think i've come to Barrels. would you recommend 81a roadside 85a board side or on both sides get 85a? Im 135lbs. I also heard venoms fit Paris better than most bushings.. awesome vid
If i were you, I would just get an 81a cone/barrel pack. It's a good middle ground between carving and stability for your weight. There's no need to have such a big difference between durometers, especially since one is a cone. I suggest getting the venom barrel/cone pack in orange (81a).
Motion boardshop's website has a full guide (but venom only) on their website. Couldn't post the link but just go to the web site, go to bushings, and then that big thing that says bushing selector.
I bought some rkp paris 195's that came with the red 93a barrel bushings and my board is super stiff but still has a half ass decent turn. I assume as I break them in I will get more flex out of my bushings?
light freeride and carve at 105' you definitely want super carves, upwards of 25mph try out barrel bottom and super carve top. When you maybe hit a growth spurt (assuming you're a kid lol) two barrels is all you'll ever need, i know it sounds like you want all the rebound possible but eliminators are really just for downhill.
great video! helps a lot. I can't believe u weigh 160! you look lighter. anyway I am slightly heavier ( 160-170) 5'9"I am wondering what the best two setups or more setups (I said two because at least one for Asymmetrical and one with a set up for directional with bear grizzlies riding the 52° in front and a 43° in back including for me. so far I ride bear. they are the most versitile and best performing imo. I'm going from a cruising style now into freestyle or fast-freestyle (mostly sliding no too big on tricks)for a couple years now I'm just starting to fall in love with DH. urban DH for garages to be exact. so far I have 3 favorite boards. apex diamond drop, chubby unicorn, a Rayne avenger, and a darkside (the only directional that I plan on doing the 52° in front and 43° option in back) I'd like to know your thoughts. maybe you like a total different settup. please lmk. DH is my new dope and I am DH-SIK HELP ME PLEASANT thank you
Hey I'm 110 lbs what should I get as of bushings I have bear Grizzlies trucks 852s and I do carving and freeriding and alittle down hill what do you think?
@DBlongboards I am about to buy a 40inch pintail and wanted to upgrade the bushings. I am about 110 pounds and am going to be mostly cruising no downhill (where I live there are no hills). what do you suggest for my bushings? please answer asap! Thanks a lot!
@theelephanttaco he plans on doing freeride and carving, his height is about 5'2 and he is probably about 105 pounds. but he wants some rebound in his turns
What bushings should I take? I'm 55kg (121 pounds). I want to LDP and cruising with my longboard. These are my longboard's specs: Deck :Olson&Hekmati p95 (Wheelebase 75cm) Trucks front: Bennett Vector 130 mm Trucks rear: Randal RII Hanger 125 mm Bearings: Bones Super Swiss 6 Rollen front: 75 mm Abec11 Lemon Bigzigs 83a Rollen rear: 75 mm Abec 11 Lime Bigzigs 80a (I'm unsure about the riserpads too.....)
I weigh around 125-130 and am wanting to get all four barrels. Now, should I go with 85a for all 4? Or two 85a and two 86a. Mainly for freeride/downhill, mild crusing around.
Can anyone explain how the bushings should go? Like how to put them on correctly because I have a barrel/cone setup but I'm not sure of some basic information like should the cone be boardside or roadside and what way it should be pointing. Thanks for the help.
So I weigh about 200 pounds (198-200 or so) do you recommend 93a barrels board side? And then go with the 87a for road side? Thats sort of what I gathered from this clinic/tutorial.
Hi, I have trucks that kind of have a lower angle and without buying a new base plate i want to make them turn sharper without being really loose. I weigh about 100 pounds and i will be doing some light downhill (About 20-30 mph) and some slides/flat ground tricks. Any suggestions on new bushings? Thanks!
Im a 100 pound teen, I do hardcore techinacal downhill and freeride, my current trucks are rogue cast,I like loose and very divey, what would be the best bushing setup for me.
I weigh around 130lbs and have 50 Cals. The stock 89a blood orange bushings are much to hard. Would you suggest split duro cones/barrels or same duro? Im looking at the 85a bushings... thanks!
hey, my friend has bought some second-hand blue paris trucks, and they came with some venom super-carves(boardside and roadside) should he get some jim z 83a eliminator style bushings? or should he get some venom bushings? p.s. he wants high rebound bushings
You explained in this video about your back bushings should be tighter/stronger duro bushings. Could you explain why? Because I still don't understand it :) thanks!! :D
most of the turn should come from the front to prevent speedwobbles. harder duro busings in the back gives you less turn in the back, wich gives less speedwobbles.
I'm about 140 lbs. Would 83a venom Eliminator Bushings be good for me, or would 85a be better? I'm more a free-rider or cruising around, but I like a bit of downhill?
What are the different shapes of board specifically for? id like some new ones and i dont know what to get.. i ride bear 852s on a original freeride41 RC and seismic bootlegs. suggestions?
I'm 130 pounds and right now i have a 85 board side and a bear grizzly bushing road side. i am really wanting to start getting more speed past 30 mph is this a good set up or should i go a little harder or should i stay where i am
I've got 50 degree Calibers on my 2012 Wolfshark (with 72 mm Abec 11 Freerides) which venom bushings would be the most effective without wheel bite for fast freeride??
Experiment. You might want to go with the harder bushings for downhill for more stability, and for freeride the softer bushings for more response. The only way to find your favorite bushing set up is to experiment.
hey so slide and do average hills i am 100 pounds but growing should i get eliminators and also i have bear trucks 852 i mostly do 360 stand up slides and long stand up powers at average speed what bushing should go for boardside and for roadside i was thinking roadeside should be eliminators and boardside standard? and idk if i should get 81a or 85a all i do is freestyle
I'm a fat ass, i ride 93a barrel board side and a 93a cone bushing street side mostly cruise and free ride, I'm afraid i'll total out a car or house if i crash bombing down some hill like a run away train.
I'm 150lb and got 85a yellow venoms, but i feel like they're too soft for me. Would 90a boardside and 87a roadside be too stiff for me? My friend has 87a venoms and they feel pretty good. I feel like it would be just right since I want to do a lot of down hill.
Hey great video! Explained a lot but I'm confused. Ur 160 and use 90ish bushings. I'm 230lbs and I use bears 83a stock bushings. Why is it that they don't feel responsive enough when I carve? They are both barrels, so maybe going with a cone top bushing? Or do I need Togo with a harder bushing? HELP!!! Idk what bushings to get-obviously a beginner lol
im about 130 and for my next board I am gonna be using 44 calibers. I was looking at a 90a boardside and a 87 roadside for freeride and dh. would that be a good setup?
im 110lb and am thinking about 78a cones for deep carving and 85a barrel boardside 81a barrel roadside for downhill. so think this would work for my weight?
I'm fairly new to longboarding and I weigh 150-155 lbs. I want to replace the stock bushings that my Paris 180's came with to some venom bushings that will allow me to turn and carve much easier. Which should I get?
I'm really confused on all bushings, all I know is I really don't like the stock bushings for my Caliber 50's. I need some new ones for Freeriding, and I'm about 120 pounds. Someone recommended me 80a Otang Nipples, but I'm not sure. What should I get?
wobbles are more rider related than anything, just try to lean forward. also dont be afraid of wobbles, when you get afraid, you lean back and it gives you wobbles!
Hey im 170pounds , i ride 89a bs and 87a rs with cupped washer everywhere , i used this setup because i get wheelbite on my wolfshark with my caliber 44 , i did around 60km/h last week and getted wobble anyway , but i allready feel my trucks are death , should i go harder btw
I weigh about 120 lol( im 15 ) . maybe 85a bottom and 81a cone at the top ? Or for you what will be the best bushing setup for a person about 5,5feet or 170 cm and i ride a apex 37
im 110 pounds and ride bear grizzly 852's and love riding freeride/downhill and need new bushings im thinking about yellow and purple does that sound good or not?
He said "Always boardside", but remember, "always" always has exceptions. Some complicated setups might break that rules, but for most intents and purposes, hard bushings go boardside.
"And that can lead to not fun times."
I will use this. I will.
Harder bushings should always go boardside.
im 140 punds and i dont know to much about bushing, i like sliding but also a some downhill what did you recomend for me

for bushings i recommend the venom barrel bushings red 90a board side yellow 85a road side
so whats the difference between cone, barrle, or the lemon one.
You guys need to update the venom bushing guide, to include the new freerides. That would be awesome!

If i weigh like 8 lbs more wud the setup nick rides still work good
When he said he rides green on bottom and red on top, does he mean the bottom as in the bushings closer to the board or the ones closer to the ground?
Its a maple cosmonaut. Such a rad board!
-Nick @ DB
87a-93a Barrels
the first 52 seconds made my day
Hi DBlongbords... 93a/90a or 90a/85a eliminators combo for 40mph+ on my Wolfshark with 50 cals.... Im 180 pounds.... Thank you very much.

im 120 pounds and I use my longboard for freeriding, cruising, and transportation. which bushings should I get if I want to be able to carve well?
which bushings are best for freestyle, cruising and freeride
Venom super carve for carving and freestyle. For freeride a super carve on top and barrel on bottom.

I'm 160lb, and ride carving a lot, combined with some freeride/downhill. What should I pick?

should i get 87a barrels or 94a shr barrels on cal 50's for dh on technical courses?

I usually go freeride and occasionally go downhill. what bushings should I get? im 120 pounds. thanks in advance
I used 90a cone roadside and bears trucks stock bushing boardside. Is that a good downhill setup?
nick rides his bushings hard im like 230lbs and i run the same bushing setup as him
hey, I would like to start with some easy downhill and freeride, I weigh about 126 lbs, what kind of bushing would you reccomend for me?
but also cones go roadside, right? and why for both shape and hardness
I'm looking for bushings that fit well for fast freeride and downhill, i have 44 cals and i weigh about 54 kg
I'm 105 pounds and I usually cruise and carve, but occasionally I'll bomb a hill and get to about 30mph. What bushings should I get?
Hey im 170pounds , i ride 89a bs and 87a rs with cupped washer everywhere , i used this setup because i get wheelbite on my wolfshark with my caliber 44 , i did around 60km/h last week and getted wobble anyway , but i allready feel my trucks are death , should i go harder btw
Hey, I'm 15 and I weigh about 116, and I'm looking for a good free ride setup, that can still handle some pretty Gnar hills, what would you recommend?
I weigh about 120 lol( im 15 ) . maybe 85a bottom and 81a cone at the top ? Or for you what will be the best bushing setup for a person about 5,5feet or 170 cm and i ride a apex 37
im 110 pounds and ride bear grizzly 852's and love riding freeride/downhill and need new bushings im thinking about yellow and purple does that sound good or not?

Im around 115 pounds and need new bushings for freeriding. What hardness and shape should I buy?
im 110 pounds and i want to do mostly downhill and free riding. what do you suggest?
Do a video on bearings
He said "Always boardside", but remember, "always" always has exceptions. Some complicated setups might break that rules, but for most intents and purposes, hard bushings go boardside.
What's the difference in the shapes of the bushing?
Hey, what bushing should i use? Im doing freeride/downhill. Im 125-130lbs. Thanks for advice!
So what set up would be the best for free riding with bear trucks and I am 125 pounds?? Plz help
