The Big BIG Fermanagh Litterpick 2023

The Big BIG Fermanagh Litterpick 2023 was an extraordinary event aimed at cleaning up and preserving the beautiful county of Fermanagh. This event surpassed all expectations with its remarkable impact. Thanks to the unwavering support of LELP's funders and supporters, participants were equipped with free litter picking gear, enabling them to actively contribute to the cause. The event's objective was to foster a spirit of collaboration and in still a sense of responsibility within the community, with the hope that individuals would continue their efforts to maintain Fermanagh's cleanliness by retaining the equipment as a lasting reminder of LELP's legacy.
The overwhelming response from the community was awe-inspiring, as approximately 450 individuals, community groups, and businesses eagerly dedicated their time and efforts to tidying up the county. Over the span of two days, an impressive 50 separate litter picks were organised, showcasing the tremendous commitment and passion of the participants. LELP was profoundly moved by the volunteers' pride and sense of duty towards conserving their local landscape.
From the majestic heights of Cuilcagh Mountain to the sprawling expanses of Lough Erne, the entire community rallied together to cherish and protect every corner of Fermanagh. The participants' dedication and hard work resulted in an astounding collective contribution of over 1000 hours of litter picking, during which they managed to collect more than 240 bags of litter.
