Very beautiful review! Informative with different angles also very understandable English! Thank you. Laptop also looks amazing
I would like to see comparison between mini LED and usual IPS panels. IF possible, please make review of Predator 18 with mini LED display!!!
great review! would be nice if you could make a throttling test for the hdd/cpu/gpu and give some numbers.
great review!
A dedicated review but also partial and somewhat subjective. E.g., the description of the keyboard lets it sound as if typing was ok but my experience is: too wobbly for intensive, fast use. No reviewer anywhere gives me this description but my physical experience in stores is my only reliable source of information as to keyboard typing experience. Reviewers really need to take a more objective approach to describing keyboard typing experience, taking into account text and data workers' needs. Good desktop and notebook keyboards are like day and night these days. --robert jasiek
Another advert rather than a review. Why are there no comparative performance reviews for this laptop - is it not good enough?
Great Review watching this on my Helios 16 RTX 4080 I9-13900HX 32 GB RAM DDR5 5600 MTZ the mini LED keyboard is in my opinion the best in the business. Everything I throw at this laptop is second to none in high performance. Truly a portable powerhouse and for $2400 I paid for it wow what a deal for this much power and this many specs. For those who are wondering, yes the TPU is 175 watts on the Helios 16 as well. Measured screen brightness at 528 nits (non Mini LED version) The predator sense software is simplified and very easy to use. I believe I have made a very qualified purchase and you should too. Keep in mind the Helios 16 versions sell out quick at B&H too which is where I purchased my laptop from.
How are the temps on the Helios 16? I heard that when playing a game, the gpu and cpu temps get over 90 degrees
@@reaper7910 lol 😅 no ! As round 82 degrees Celsius max
@@skylyfeprojectsyes some of the videos I saw said the same about the temps. They cross 90°C. I myself am actually looking forward to buying this laptop. I might get it in about 2 months time. So I hope there isn't any problem now with the temps.
Do both 16 inch and 18 inch have extra M2 SSD slots for storage expansion?
@@skylyfeprojectsHi friend, how long the battery can last when fully charged? During gaming
Does it have type c pd charging?
You can make it more detailed as a review.
Thumbs up from India.
I’m thinking of buying this laptop. This is the first ever gaming laptop i’m buying. Has someone experience with this laptop, and is this a good laptop to play games on?
Where is this available ?
No display measurements (min + max brightness, color space, contrast ratio, pixel response times, etc.) ?
How much battery life did you get out of the machine with igpu? Came here to see that. Not sure if i missed it or if it was not mentioned.
Why care for battery? It'll never be the reason for a GAME Laptop. The battery is there for non-gaming tasks. For instance on the airport when working or anything alike. Look for how it works plugged in. That makes most sense
@@86Raxor I use it for work as well. so battery life is kinda important. anything above 5-6 hours is fine. also raptor lake hx processors seem to be having really good battery life.
@@moonfire5069 gaming laptops suck battery wise. Look into business laptops like the acer swift x or something, maybe msi tridon?
It's a "gaming " laptop consider it as portable desktop
She dodged that question so must be pretty poor.
this isnt the mini led model?
It would be interesting to see how th temperatures fare in time spy extreme in 3Dmark.
Depends on the performance mode used - going higher increases the temperatures, fan noise, and, in result, the overall performance. Under heavy sustained load, the GPU stays under 81c and CPU oscillates between 85-95c, while system temp is around 72-75c.
Modern gaming laptop cooling systems are designed to stay slightly underneath the thermal throttling point of that particular silicon(which is usually about 100-105c) in order to maximise the framerate gain using the thermal leeway available.
@@druminik Right. Well I suppose it can deal with those temperatures and if people are worried then as a "guarantee" Acer provides 4 year warranty, in contrast to the competitors 1-2 years
@@druminik And actually controlling the load is a thing to mind. I really don't need an equivalent 3dmsrk score of 19000-20000 in every game. Perhaps staying around the 15k mark equivalent mode will let me stay at say, 75C instead. Thus a bit lower fan noise. That is how I predict the use of my Helios 18
@86Raxor On balanced mode I usually get about 75-85c CPU with surprisingly very quiet fans, on performance they get noticeably louder with roughly 15-20% performance increase at 80-90c CPU, and on turbo the fans go nuts, noise cancelling headphones required for another +/- 10% performance gain.
@@druminik I'll be using balance 90% of the Times
Acer has my undivided attention.. Quite a workhorse, I must say.. 👀
How much is it?
1699$ it was out of stock at best buy when i saw it though
@@nickz1lla this thing doesnt exist
if im buying it im not getting a heavy block of shit so id rather fork out the extra 1k and get the maxed specs
@@nickz1lla that's why I'm asking it, because the only spec I saw was i7 rtx 4060 for 1699 at Best Buy
@@exorias625 AHHHHHHH BATTERY LIFE
@@nickz1lla pfft battery life. fam i wont take it off the plug unless i have to be on the move and if im on the move im not gonna do anything intense enough to kill it that fast
Box! :)~
This is not a review. You’re just advertising the already advertised specs. You should change the title.
How far does the screen tilt back?
Has BOX now gone bust?
Yeah sadly. But it's not all bad! Maybe we will come back one day 😊
That’s a sexy laptop 💻
If its premium... then you have nott seen premium laptop 😅 i had it for 4 days, and returned... and bought alienware m18
You guys' reviews are really good, but the commercial shorts is why I have to unsubscribe. Really don't need those commercials in my timeline. Just put them in front and/or after your regular videos.
Oh no! We're sorry you feel this way 😢 We do hope you come back to check out our full reviews again in the future 👍
@@BoxCoUk I will definitely look for them separately, because they are among the best here on RUclips.
