How much is a BMW or Mercedes similar size, similar quality, similar functions? At least x2. Such SUV, a real one...i don't think there is something better for that price range out there. The G9.... But I Think the NIO is more premium, the G9 exterior design is a bit below the EL8. Of course just my opinion
EL8 is a lever up in premium feel and size. I would compare it to EQS SUV.

Mercedes build quality and materials are shockingly poor. It creeks everywhere, lots of cheap creeky plastic, and the software and features is a whole generation and a half behind Nio.
The nio is also substantially superior in the powertrain department also
@energiam880 I agree! But even more unfair to compare it to EQE etc. I really think the closest competitor really will be the Volvo EX90 at the end..
@@ItsOnlyElectric EQS priced at +120,000€? Perhaps in Sweden the prices with the battery are similar but if in your country you have battery swap stations why would somebody go for the whole pack when you can opt for removing from yourself the "hassle" of the battery? + Personally I like way more the NIO's design

If this had a Mercedes or Land Rover badge on it, people would lose their minds. The hypocrisy and worshipping of brands is ridiculous! Nio are making cars that are way better than some of the most "luxury" brands out there but aren't trying to rip anyone off with the same price tags and because they are a Chinese company, people are sleeping on it.

If a British reviewer reviewed an American electric car, they'd be raving about it. But this is a Chinese electric car and the review by the Ikea boy is restrained and to the point. No emotions.

NIO is one of my top pick brands. This time with a very limited time with the car. Made it hard to produce a good video. But hopefully I could bring something useful to the table..

Great car, much better than the EQS. One small thing: It's a pity that the middle row of seats cannot be folded down.
That would create a gigantic loading capacity. Then you would be able to fold both rows at one side, load long stuff and still be able to carry 3 passengers.
You need to know that Chinese cars are heavily back seat biased, BMW, Mercedes and Audi all have decorated long wheel based variants for China. Chinese prefer two master seats at the back over payload
Better eith no design language? Copy of tesla screens? Every chinese ev looks the same inside. They just put things together and call it a car. Thats the reason why the ride of these chinese ev mostly bad compared to germans. Eqs was engineered several years ago and still has most of the highest range. Just watch björn nyland videos and you will get a feel.

Did you measure the noise level? I.e. compared to Xpeng G9, which feels most quiet?
No I did not. Hopefully I get it soon do that. But both cars are extremely silent

El8 bigger and more premium. But the G9 is a bargain with its price.
Ok 88 000 euros for 3 row luxury vehicle even without a battery is alright (with battery i would imagine 100k). Cadillac Escalade/Lincoln Navigator mid specs are in the same price range and the Escalade is an ICE vehicle that don't even use bespoke engine (if i'm not mistaken they have Corvette/Camaro V8).
Thanks for sharing. Compared to the BMW X7 it is also reasonably priced.
They have moved the charge port. AC should offer 3 Phase 22kW for public AC charging 11kW is not good enough for a huge car like this.

@Richard1976 I would say like 15k Euro higher than the G9 with battery.
@@ItsOnlyElectric could be about right. I think the lease battery is the biggest issue with this brand. Great looking cars though

6:23 How about not buying the car? That would support the environment even more 😂 I don't get this white washing product thing. It's bad for the environment period, don't act like you're saving the environment by buying artificial stuff.
P.S: I don't have a problem with buying stuff, just don't be a snob about it.
😂 best is not to buy any car at all and to rent one oR take a taxi when needed.
