“I named the gods, not the other way around” is such a powerful line to come out of a tiny worm
And one he can fully backup
Caterpillar
Let's squashed him since he's a bug.
@@brianhoang2723 you underestimate mister mind. He is one of the mightiest psychics to exist in the DC universe.
You know how there used to be only 52 universes in the DC multiverse? That's cause mister mind ate all the others.
@@evanraynolds8699 Because he's a bug with a funny high pitched voice like in TTG?
Mr. Mind is legitimately my favorite villain in all of comics. For those who don’t know, he is one of the most intelligent beings in the DC universe and despite his diminutive size he is an expert at manipulating people. His charisma and devious plans lead him to be the leader of a group called “The Monster Society of Evil” which consists of Captain Marvel’s (Shazam’s) greatest foes. Also fun fact: his first appearance in the comics was also the very first comic book story arc. Back then comics were one and dones, but when they introduced Mr. Mind and the Monster Society of Evil, they experimented with serialized storytelling, which is common practice nowadays.
Yeah but man is it a long story arc, it continued in every issue of captain marvel adventures for several years.
Spencer Brus sry I read "Megamind"
Ok nice
And I have just the scenario to prove his charisma, and would show how much of a monster, Mister Mind is. Near the climax, Mind either kidnaps or mind controls Billy's neglectful mother. Then, using reverse psychology, Mind tries to get Shazam to not oppose him, by threatening to kill her. He thinks that Billy is still too angry at her, and is using that bit of darkness inside of Billy, to control him. And the scary thing is, initially it works. Billy refuses to go into action, believing his mother deserves all the karma she has gotten. But his siblings are angered by this, and tells him that she's still a human being like everyone else. They warn him that he too could fall under the same greed and desperation that caused her to abandon him, and eventually, Billy realizes that this is true, and saves the life of the woman who abandoned him. In the end, while he does not mend relations, he does leave her money to get her out of the rut, and the two move on.
So he's like the plankton on DC
People should take Mister Mind seriously. He’s small, but highly intelligent. He can manipulate enemies and allies alike and can even figure out a way to beat heroes such as Shazam.
That's why it took 30 issues for Captain Marvel to defeat him in the Captain Marvel "Monster Society of Evil" serial. He also can turn into a giant monster.
Mind control
@Noel T. Lat It’s actually both
@Noel T. Lat Shazam was originally called Captain Marvel, the Marvel comics captain marvel was captain Mar-vel.
He also destroyed most of the multiverse
Fun Fact: that's not a professional voice actor doing Mister Mind it's the flipping director giving off an amazing performance. if he plays him in upcoming films I'll be really happy.
If he returns, would like to see him turn into the Hyperfly (his monster form) for the climax of the movie.
@@nicholaslienandjaja1815 isn't that too early?

This movie embraces all the aspects of comicbooks. And this scene is a perfect example of that. A caterpillar as a pantsshittingly terrifying villain. A lot of people would probably say "That wouldn't work". But these people said "Go for it!"
It works. Its classic once you learn who mr mind is. But most people wont know. I didnt till i researched it. . Its a worm that feeds off universes and clones itself to destroy realities, turning into this massive universe sized super monster which is basically omnipotent.
Literally nothing about this is "pants shittingly terrifying."
Sorry you have the IQ and sensibility of a walnut, you uncultured swine, but nothing about this was even remotely impressive.
Now this is a supervillain. So many are humanoids, now we're getting a caterpillar as the villain with a creepy voice box. How long have we waited for something weird in the best way possible.
Right? I knew about Mr. Mind before seeing the movie, but I didn't expect him to appear in it! This is the age where it's possible for comic book heroes and villains to be made famous by movies, previously the idea of Mr. Mind being in a movie would be usually reserved for more famous villains like Lex Luthor and Joker.
@@sirclassicalhou3650
Sadly, ‘Fury of the Gods’ is putting that story “on hold” to make way for the Daughters of Atlas (the main antagonists of the sequel). Since it’s comes out in 2023, it will be 4 years after the ‘Shazam’ film came out and people will lose anticipation or forget about Mr. Mind. The same way Marvel fans forgot about the Adam Warloc set-up from ‘GOTG Vol. 2’.
@@theawesomebat1244 Nobody "forgot" about Adam Warlock. We were a bit disappointed he wasn't in Infinity War/Endgame, but it looks to be that he'll appear in Guardians 3.
That said, I don't think it's a bad thing that Dr Sivana/Mr Mind aren't in the sequel. It would be silly to focus JUST on them all the time, and giving time to other villains means that they can be plotting in the background, ready to make a much more powerful return in the following movie... possibly recruiting other villains to help fight the entire Shazam family, rather than just taking on Billy.
@@theawesomebat1244 Directors and such deny things all the time. Just look Spiderman: No Way Home... They were denying for months that it had any involvement of the previous actors, yet more recently we've had those actors on set, those same previously-denied rumours being confirmed, etc.
James Gunn may have only refuted the rumours to try and keep things hush until the movie is closer to coming out... and keeping in mind that filming on it is only JUST starting this year. There's still no reason to believe that Adam Warlock WON'T be in it until more plot details and film shoots take place.
As for Mr Mind, I didn't say HE was silly... I said it would be silly for the Shazam movies to ONLY focus on Dr Sivana and Mr Mind as the villains. It would get stale very quickly, despite how interesting Mr Mind is, and THAT would make people lose interest in the character. What we got was just a taster... a tease that we'll see him in his full glory.
If you want another example, look at Thanos. We literally only got a post-credits scene, and then didn't see him for another 2 years. We then got him in some small scenes in Guardians of The Galaxy, and then another post credit scene a year later in Age of Ultron.
The point is, just because they're not the VILLAINS of the second movie, it doesn't mean they couldn't appear in another hero's movie, or as a post-credit scene for the second Shazam movie, to keep people interested.
They could have Mr Mind shown to start organising a villain team-up at the end of Shazam 2, and then have him make an appearance in Shazam 3, which leads into a huge team-up movie between the heroes fighting against the Monster Society of Evil (ala Justice League... but not a terrible movie, hopefully)
Don't worry. No-one will lose hype over not seeing him for a while. We'll all get even more excited to see him again if he's used sparingly... That's how you build a great villain in these movies. Use them lightly, and then unleash them in full force when the time is right.
Rushing into these things and just expecting it all to be perfect without the effort... that's why Justice League and the DCEU failed so badly to begin with.
@@BYERE
I don’t know because James Gunn is getting annoyed whenever someone brings up the question about Adam Warlock appearing in Vol. 3. Look at his Twitter.
Just because a franchise use 1 villain, that doesn’t make it stale. Look at ATLA, for example. Sure, they were other villains like Zhao & Azula but the show remembered that the main antagonist was Fire Lord Ozai. I knew you were going to use Thanos as an example but you’re forgetting something, Iron Man-Endgame is also known as “The Infinity Saga” so it made sense for Thanos to be set-up so the audience can see his full glory and reference Infinity War in some post-credit scenes.
I don’t see Mr. Mind appearing in other DC films. That’ll be like Reverse Flash appearing in a post-credit scene for Green Lantern. Also, DC rarely do post-credit scenes.
Mr. Mind, on the other hand, isn’t the “big boss” of the DC universe and the DCEU is not considered as the “Mr. Mind saga”. Apparently, WB was focusing on setting up the Legion of Doom and but that was thrown out the window. Heck, not even Darkseid can live up to the hype after what WB did with the New Gods movie & the SnyderVerse. If Mr. Mind appears, he’ll probably get the ‘X-Men Apocalypse’ treatment, the same way Starro is probably getting the ‘Rise of the Silver Surfer’ treatment. C’mon, do you really think that WB would live up to the hype? Since WB likes to kill off their villains or redeem them with “The Power of Love”, who knows?
I never thought a Goddamn caterpillar would make such an intimidating criminal mastermind.
So was the Brain from Doom Patrol.

There are references to Tawney literally all OVER the movie. The tiger in the beginning, the tiger on Shazam's golden cape disks (they aren't epaulets, so Idk what they're called), on his backpack, his references are literally everywhere.
We better get Tawny.
Keep mister mind's voice on the next sequel please.
Something else I think the second movie should do is have a countermeasure to one of the first movies themes. A core theme of the first movie is that there is no such thing as pure of heart. We all have darkness inside us. But this countermeasure theme tells us that even though we all have darkness inside of us, we should always attempt to do the right thing... even if it means helping people we don't like it, or goes against what seems like the choice that will give us the most pleasure. And I have just the scenario to prove this, and would show how much of a monster, Mister Mind is.
They remind him that he to could fall under the same greed and desperation that caused her to abandon him, and eventually, Billy realizes that this is true. The fact that Mister Mind appeared in this movie (his first comic appearance was in 1943, making him one of the oldest comic supervillains) is testament to just how comic book movies can use superheroes or villains that are not well-known among the public and make them better known, just like they did with Thanos in the MCU!
Dr. Sivana himself is even older, debuting in 1939 and actually being one of the very first supervillains alongside Superman's Ultra-Humanite.

I'm pissed that he's not going to be the big bad in the sequel.
Maybe hopefully he'll be in number three.
came here after hearing the announcement for shazam two today. couldn't be any more excited :D
Ok, i really appreciate how the Shazam movie plays Mr. Mind perfectly strait while still giving him a tasteful redesign.
Lol Shazam fury of gods post credit scene teasing again about Mr. mind🤣
That Caterpillar is terrifying...
Cute and terrifying.
And after reading who Mr. Mind is and what he’s capable of… and what he did…
O_O
I think that Mr Mind is going to be in the sequel
He was supposed to, but not anymore
Audience: Hell yeah! I wonder where that storyline is gonna go!
DC: Absolutely nowhere.
i thought superman scene was end credits well im late ._.
It technically is this is just a mid credits scene
I am loving that voice
I smell a awesome sequel coming
1:16 there’s ma boy mr mind my one and only favorite dc character
I think mister mind is an exclusive end credit character
(yes im from the future) 🤣
yeah just saw him
It takes him a very long time to get on set, okay?
It's funny. Three years later, and we still have no inkling as to what Mister Mind has done since this clip...and when he will help Sivana escape for crying out loud lol.
Have you watched Shazam 2's post credit scene?
I saw the Shazam! episode of Teen Titans GO! before seeing this movie and remember being very confused by why this time worm with glasses was such a threat to Shazam... Now that I've seen this movie and by extension this post-credits scene it all makes sense now.
