    Had the same problem with our net blinds. I used a spray mould & mildew remover. Put a piece of cardboard behind to protect the windows a little spray and a toothbrush. Brought them up like new.

    Probably one of the most overlooked details when polishing windows, cars, car windows, etc.
    Make 100% sure the surface is CLEAN. Wash it if needed but always make sure of having it clear of any sort of debris, mud... ;-)

    We have just purchased a new to us caravan, and like Mark says the amount of stuff we found in our old caravan we no longer use was ridiculous. I took it off and weighed it it all. We are now 8.6kg lighter. One thing people tend to ignore when towing is the actual payload of the caravan. To work this out subtract the MRO from the MPTLM. Remember folks things like the motor mover are part of your payload, in our case a whopping 35kg. Stay Safe 😊

    Nice one Mark. I've used household Pledge furniture polish to clean my caravan windows . It doesn't remove scratches but the rain just beads off them afterwards..... Happy Easter!

      Hi Mark, great video. What do you use for removing marks on pleated blinds?

      It depends what the pleated blind material is? If its more of a fabric then I would use a carpet or fabric cleaner, something like the vanish stain remover. Hope this helps.

      @@thecaravanplace Thanks for the quick reply Mark. A little unsure of the material. The caravan is a 2020 Elddis Affinity, of that helps?

    I find the best is Milton, that used for sterilising baby bottles. Good but with less smell.

    What I found to clean the blinds with is a cheap spray bottle of mould and mildew remover,but I had to take the blind off first but it done a great job

    Went away this Easter and thought I’d tidy the front locker up. Erm shall I donate these beach shovels I’ve carried around. My sons 20 and my daughter is 17 now. I felt quite sad somehow 😀

    Light scratches on windows --- use toothpaste . Deeper scratches -- Brasso /metal polish then finish with toothpaste.

    G3 or meguiars ultimate compound on the windows even better if you have access to a machine polisher, as for weight I definitely carry a few unnecessary KGs

    • @thecaravanplace
      @thecaravanplace  2 года назад

      Thanks Ste, yes the G3 is good and with a machine will remove very deep scratches, we have used G3 by hand also and it will still get some deeper scratches out, not used the meguiars but would think its similar, thanks for mentioning these products.

    What cutting compound do you use?

    Great video, my awning annexe blew up & scratched a small area of my brand new vans window. Would you recommend I tcut the whole window area or just the scratched area? Thanks Andy 👍

    • @thecaravanplace
      @thecaravanplace  2 года назад +1

      Hi Andy, work the scratch area first and then work out from that and do a light pass over the rest then polish back up, depending how deep the scratch is as to how long to spend on the scratched area. 👍

    How do you adjust the tension on the front blinds as you can’t get to the ends?

    • @thecaravanplace
      @thecaravanplace  2 года назад

      You will have to remove the screws holding the top of the blind, it should have screws under the covers that I removed on the video, once these are out you can angle the blind or pull it upwards and remove the top from the legs. You can then adjust and re fit. Just a bit more tricky. Hope this helps.

    How do you adjust the door fly screen 🤔

    • @thecaravanplace
      @thecaravanplace  2 года назад

      These are mostly on the strings which have no adjustment, some were adjustable in the same way and you had to remove the whole thing to do it. But most now are unadjustable sorry.
