Great video. TPS are awesome! I had my clutch changed and engine rebuilt by them and my car has never felt better. Everyone there is super friendly and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended
Really enjoyed the video and agree that for a street driven car, the factory more or less knew what they were doing. I've owned my RX8 for 21 years this year (original owner of a pre-ordered initial batch North American car.) Just subscribed and will keep following the build.
@@DriveVice Thanks! I've accepted it's part of the family now and with me until I die. I would say tastefully modded: Racing Beat Revi Intake with ram air duct, Cobb AccessPort tuned by MazdaManiac, Axial Flow shifter, Racing Beat midpipe, Mazdaspeed Cat Back, Mazdaspeed front and rear strut bars, Racing Beat sway bars and end links, KW v3 coil overs and Rays MazdaSpeed MS-01S Wheels. Still going strong on original engine. Will replace it with my 20B when it finally goes. Also have the track FC in my avatar picture (full bridge N/A) and have another FC that's a Half Bridge Turbo. It's an addiction. :)
I literally went through the same exact thing the day before this video. I made it to 125k, went in wanting porting etc… and learned so much to the point that my rebuild will be OEM with some port polishing. Enjoy the journey!
Street port shouldn't change the idle, but only increase the lower end of the torque (if the engine is healthy to start with), but as Josh mentioned, it's not the best choice for longevity. Bridge port is what make the idle go Brrraaap
I am following with interest as I need to get my PZ rebuilt - its either these guy's or Rotary Motion - makes sense upgrading and keeping stock - I look forward to the end result - good luck!
The side ports are on the irons though, not the housings. And yes, lots of carbon build up on the ports, but it can be cleaned away. The housing becomes smooth and shiny after the regrinding.
I've dealt with TPS a few times with my previous rx8 and funnily enough have just bought another rx8 from Josh, can't fault either of them best in the game in my opinion
@DriveVice this is now my 2nd rx8, I had my first when I was 19, was a 2006 car on 31k miles but sold it a year later when I bought a 370z, but now I am going back to the rx8 as even though they're not the quickest of cars out of anything I've ever driven it has the most character and soul in a car which I admire

We surely agree!
Reece and Josh are famous. 😂 the best there is.
Nice job guys! Keep it up!!
Everyone can enjoy my different hairstyles in the series 🤣 Great video Alex 👍🏻
We want a mohawk next

Awesome! 21 years with an 8. Hats off for the longevity. I hope you are still enjoying it. Did you keep it factory?

@@Redshift42 that's fantastic. I wish we could make a featured video of such an important family member, but I don't think you're based in the UK.
@@DriveVice I'm in Nova Scotia, so not local. :) Funny enough, I do have family in London and a friend (who does Time Attack in an FD) in Sheffield

Oh excellent! Totally worth it!!
Great Video! Funnily enough I got my engine rebuilt with these guys, you can actually see at 9:44, the black R3!
That's yours?! Awesome choice of garage. These guys are great
A street port doesn't do much but make the idle lumpy in a Renesis from what I've read. I love the series btw!

Glad to be of service. Next step video coming soon (Spoilers: we recommend TPS with passion)
My local Rotary shop said that most RX8 engine rebuilds required new housing due to carbon build up. This all because of the side port exhaust.

How many 8s have you owned? and why more than one?

Bridgeport the exhaust
Any plans for content in the meantime?
Yes, more car experiences coming your way.
