  • Construction begins on the CMK 1/35 VW Type 825 Pickup.
In this video, I start the preliminary work in preparation for attaching the resin parts to the plastic. Cutting, sanding and test fitting. Then a bit of assembly in preparation for priming and painting the interior

This is such a cool kit. I'm really enjoying watching it all come together. Great work on the cutting and fitting of the custom parts.

Hello Brett. Some very neat and tidy surgery indeed. Glad you managed to negotiate the casting block removal without any misfortune!

Thanks, Lloyd. I was pleasantly surprised. The thin piece was kind of scary!

Wow, that's a lot of work my friend, I'm LOVIN' IT! Lots of cuts and sanding, this is the thing I like most. Great start can't wait to see what you decide to do with the bed sides. Model on Dude!!

Thanks. This kind of work is definitely out of my wheelhouse. I can do it, but generally opt for the easy way out when possible!

Very clean conversion, very well demonstrated. I expected that big casting block to be more of a headache! You've definitely sold me on this one - looks hard to come by, sadly. The only one I've found so far is in Bulgaria, which makes for some pricy postage! For a second vehicle in a diorama though, I reckon it would take some beating! Enjoy your build! 😁👍

Thanks, Andrew. Cutting off the casting block was a pleasant surprise. Fortunately, the resin doesn't seem to be real brittle. so it made cutting it off much easier.

Haven't built that kit but I've jumped on resin kits and they have some very odd instructions there almost an after thought. Anyway great start Brett 👍

Thanks, Clayton. The instructions can be a bit vague, and this kit is no exception. But, still not too bad.
