I am a punjabi, but I have keen interest in understanding kathakali. It amazes me. I've been trying to understand kathakali and what each move means in this beautiful dance form, from few days now.
Indian culture is unmatched.
mostly these are stories from Mahabharata and main character in green is Krishna
The traditional themes of the Kathakalī are folk stories, religious legends and spiritual ideas from the Hindu epics and the Puranas.The vocal performance has traditionally been performed in Sanskritised Malayalam.

You know when i was a little kid, kathakali dance would come on dd national always late at night almost around midnight and that was so scary for me the facial expressions of the Dancers really scared the sh*t out of me at that time😂. Little did i know that this is something extraordinary, but now i understand it as i grew up.
