so touched by the story of the man who discovered that his girlfriend had surgical scars on her head, loved her and married her. scars don't matter, when you love someone.

    • @derwolfgaming7775

I think you meant to say "Appearance doesn't matter when you love someone". Or maybe that's just me. I've never looked at appearance as something that is a deciding factor when loving someone. Hell the person could have horrible scars over half of the face and I wouldn't care. My three main factors are:
      How they treat others.
      how they treat animals.
      how they treat themselves.

@Der Wolf Gaming At least for me appearance does matter, not as much as being kind or honest, but i can’t love someone I find ugly. So I think the point with the scars from a surgery is more realistic than your version with looks in general

Ex best friend who was a guy and lived on the same street. You found out i liked you but you will never know that i liked you as a protector and friend. Not romantic. You protected me from my abusive brother and fed me when my parents would starve me as punishment. When i lost my glasses and you saw me bawling my eyes out for the first time, you tried to help me find them. I still dream about you when my depression, anxiety, and trauma become too much. When i have a dream about you, its the only way i can reground myself and i know everything will be alright. I felt small but safe with you. Did even when you suddenly stopped talking to me or when we passed each other in school and gave our signature nods. I miss feeling safe. I miss you. But i thank you for the years we knew each other.
And now im going to go try not to bawl my eyes out while im at work

Dr. getting patient arrested - reminds me of the time my girlfriend went to her local GP. A patient who had been refused medication started screaming and shouting at the staff in Polish. My girlfriend is Polish. She calmly went up to the desk after the guy had left and advised them to call the cops. The guy had basically said that he was gonna go round up his homeboys then come back and kill them. He came back alone. Local feds were waiting. Took him away for a quiet chat...

I am truly thankful and appreciative my all health care provider as a chronically ill person, I'm in the hospital several times a year. That being said my pain tolerance is very high, and even when I could literally pass out from pain I don't show it much. I use my phone or humor to distract me. So please don't think just because we don't show our pain in the way you feel it should be shown doesn't mean you should discredit us.

ER nurses in Iceland are the worst. They will treat you like you killed their dog if you dare to show up there, no matter for what reason you're there. The ER doctors won't believe a word you say and make you wait for hours, doing unnecessary tests, and you leave poorer than you arrived, often without any sort of medical care.
Exactly a year ago I lay in a hospital bed for ten days in Spain. When I was the sickest I literally put the nurses through hell. They deserve a medal for dealing with me, although their frustration showed from time to time and I felt so guilty.
They got puked at... frequently. They had to change my bedding, my hospital gown and probably their own clothes multiple times a day. I also kept the cleaning lady very busy... they ended up putting up a GI tube. The Gi tube kept falling out because of the crappy tape that frequently got loose. I did try to avoid it every time by beeping them to fix the problem, but all they did was patting the tape down and leave... only to have it get loose again seconds later.
I pretty much kept the entire floor awake 24/7 because I was in so much pain and nothing they threw at me seemed to work.
They started giving me as much valium as they could as fast as they could, to shock my system and make me fall asleep.
But after the third crazy realistic nightmare that I couldn't shake even after waking up, I entered the shower because it was literally the only thing I could think of to shake the awful horror movie nightmare off... hospital gown, IV and all... thinking that nobody had to know about it. Well, it worked, I did manage to shake the nightmare, but I wasn't as smooth as I'd planned. When I decided that the nightmare was sufficiently gone, I took hold of the handle to get up from s sitting position, but then my hand slipped and I accidentally pulled the emergency pull and a bunch of nurses intruded on my shower.
After that I refused any more valium.
Thankfully I was starting to get better by then and the pain wasn't as massive anymore.
When I started to get better I felt so guilty for what I put the nurses through that I'd not call for them at all, not even when my IV got clogged and some of the fluid started leaking out around the needle. I just wrapped a towel around it. They found out hours later when I had an endoscopy and they discovered the leak when they went to inject me with the anesthesia. They put up what felt like the millionth new IV. Apparently veins can get difficult when you're basically being kept alive with saline.
My arms pretty much looked like the arms of a heroin addict... I didn't cut the hospital wristband off until my arms were back to normal.

During my years working in a hospital I made friends all over the departments, A very wonderful caring lady (Who could turn your bad day into the best day ever. She loved her job as it was doing something to help others.) from environmental services, She had gotten sick and was in our hospital as a patient, because she was obviously under doctors care, the company she worked for started to screw with her and even denied a yearly raise because of "calling out" for the 2 days she was in the hospital... How can anyone work while they are sick enough to be admitted to the hospital?

Do they ever cover things up - especially in nursing homes. I took care of a patient ("Laura") at an absolutely ghastly nursing home here in Central Vermont. I wasn't a witness to this, but we had another resident who tended to go out of control at night. One night she grabbed the linen cart and shoved it into Laura, who was injured and later died (she had advanced Alzheimer's, so it was the inactivity and shock of the injury that sent her into a downhill spiral). I heard the night nurse explaining the injury to Laura's guardian - saying that the resident had just been making noise and startled Laura, so she ended up falling. This night nurse was later fired and lost her license because she shoved a confused woman into the shower room, leaving her there for an entire shift.
This nursing home was shut down about two years later because too many residents had died suspiciously. I knew the nurse who made a SERIOUS med error (giving psych meds to a chemo patient - she almost killed the chemo patient) - she was an absolute dumbass and should not have been near a med cart. The Director of Nursing was forced to resign, but she soon found another high paying job across town.

    Better Baggage Handling:
    >> the only answer to more careful baggage handling, while also getting all of the flights out on time would be more staff >> which would also mean higher flight prices. Most passangers will complain louder &/or more often or not even buy the more expensive ticket, so the baggage handling problem doesn't seem to be fixable at this rate.

The alcohol amount… OK so just heard the one about how “we don’t believe you when you say how much alcohol you drink … Basically just saying that they guess it… I drink maybe once a year I am drunk off of one beer even when in high school/college when I tended to drink more often to drink more... The most I have ever drank is seven beers and that’s including if I’ve ever taken shots or anything seven beers has been the most I’ve ever drank… That being said I’m sure a lot of people such as alcoholics might not even feel seven beers that’s like an afternoon for them or something… The problem for me in that situation is that you are so used to being involved with liars that when someone tells you that someone tells you the truth it could cost me my life... idk how the medical stuff works for what you’re doing like “pumping stomachs” or ... whatever else you do with drunk people but if you are putting your own guesstamite in documents or added meds to reflect your assumptions I’d gladly see this back fire on you and you have your license taken away

EVERYONE. . . from the Police, to the Paramedics, the Drs, the Nurses, Lab Tech's, Phlebotomists, Foodservice, just EVERYONE involved in saving me (really, no lie!), were the BEST! Crystal Lake, IL Police, Crystal Lake, IL Fire/Rescue, & NWM Hospital in Huntley, IL USA.)
I'll. . . NEVER. . . begrudge ANY 1st Responder, Medical Professional, or ANYONE who heeds the calling to run TOWARDS any kind of danger, illness, or injury (working on me or not) anything they need or want from me.
    p.s.
Probably helped shape my attitude on this subject, that I had a Dad who was an MP during The Korean War & have had (possibly) more than my fair share of having to engage Medical Services, having a work history firmly ensconced in "blue-collar professions" for decades on end. . . Huh? 😏

Uggh. I always just set them in a sink of hot water and let them stay there. Unless it's cast iron. Then I have to go through lots of scrubbing.

that when we "got together" after she asked me out on minecraft, it turns out that another girl I met on minecraft genuinely did have a crush on me when she saw me in real life, and I knew because she and a mutual friend strongly hinted it to me, but I already had a girlfriend, but thrn it wasn't til next year that the first girl told me it was actually her friend that did the talking on minecraft and she played along because she didn't wanna hurt my feelings, we're still great friends, but I don't wanna tell her she basically cockblocked me in middle school

It wouldn't ruin the friendship (in fact some of them have already been ruined thanks to my terrible attitude when I'm off of my ADHD meds...) but I just see no real reason to mention this...
So I write a lot of fanfiction and I base a lot of my OCs off of my friends/ex-friends. Like for example I have Marie (based off of my best/only friend) who's usually either an elf or an angel (I even asked said friend which race she'd rather be) among others because they meant so much to me that I wanted to include them in my stories.

What used to be my deepest secret was that i want to write write a book series and turn it into a cartoon. I don't really have the best relationship with my mom (12 year old) my grandma knows, my mom knows i just don't think my mom cares if she did she would've mentioned it ONCE also my mom wants to write a book (opiod crisis related) and tried gently pointing her towards some report paper contests i saw online one even offered a scholarship and maybe publication but she just shouted "Why do i need a college scholarship when i already went to college!" when my books get published unless it's for something important she's not getting a single penny. She's not even writing it honestly i'm not kidding my mom sleeps half the day albiet it's because of the meds she's on but STILL she decided she wanted to write a book 2 1/2 years ago and has not written a single word why
"Because i'm probably going to need a grant to get it done." she can at least take steps i'm writting a short story to enter in a competition if i win i get published in a magazine and if i do win i'll be able to enter contests that offer cash and publication prizes and i'm going from there
NOTE: i know this sounds like a rant every 12 year old goes own but every word is true :(

Barbara Garb it’s great you’re motivated and passionate about something. I hope you find success in life and remember that life is a journey so don’t get discouraged if things don’t go to plan try to see difficulties as a chance to learn and grow and an opportunity to build character. I’m sorry about your mum and all I can say is, as a mother myself, unfortunately becoming a parent doesn’t suddenly make our flaws disappear but good parents will at least try to do their best and care about what is important to their child. It’s well known that there are certain issues or personality traits that tend not to be conducive to competently nurturing and caring for a child but unfortunately, currently it appears that doesn’t necessarily have much bearing on whether people are actually able to procreate or not.

I do not understand how you can be an a**hole to a person who is helping you get better. They have your life in their hands and so many other people's and some are just so mean to them. Honestly. How far does your own head have to be up your butt to treat someone like that especially when they help you.
