The suffering Ayin put them through was designed to force the Sephirah to face their past mistakes and weaknesses, growing as a result. This formed the dual purpose of allowing his loved ones to not only complete the goal that all of them (not just Ayin) shared. Aswell as changing all of them for the better. As you can see in Ruina, it worked. The Librarians were able to overcome their demons and are generally happy and mentally stable.
I love the subtlety of Ayin looking away in the first image. According to the "Ayin: Day 50" video he didn't share the ambition of saving humanity, however, upon Carmen's death is forced to carry on her legacy. In the second image he faces the camera, knowing what he has to do.
I think a good example of that would be Carmen and Angelica, even though they were made to be an exact copy of the other they had their own type of unique personality.
I made a whole OC with backstory to fill the roll of X during my playthrough. Tbh I was pretty salty when the twist was revealed. In my heart though, my X is still real - and he's gonna strangle Ayin one way or another

If a robot can grow a desire in a million years, surely a recreated personality can be altered just a little - and since A himself says he "might not have been the right man for the job", yet X was able to do it after so long, they might be ever so slightly different. In some versions of A's speech, he seems to separate you and him slightly, as if to indicate this tiny disconnection. "We will not be forgotten, even if we vanish" - because you're both disappearing. "I know you can do it" - because you've saved his friends, something he couldn't do.

If you're curious you should perhaps do some digging into the story if it interests, it's not that bad in terms of story, the games however are pain (speaking about L.Corp and Library of Ruina). But I agree the thumbnail looks like Steins Gate a little.
