A few tanks might have better win rates at tier 7 but I still say the T29 is the King of Tier 7. Just fast enough to get where it is needed, the armor and hp to survive being there, and the firepower to make them wish you weren't there. It has view range to rival many medium tanks at its tier as well, so good luck hiding from this American behemoth.

The T29 and Comet are some of my favorite tanks in the game (I'm a Console veteran). I also wanted to like the AT-7 but unfortunately it hasn't yet received the buffs it got on PC.
On PC now, but the best game I ever had was a T29 platoon with a friend on Scorpion Pass back on PS4. I got a Radley and we got a Crucial Contribution. We killed 13 out of 15 enemies. Good times, good times. Just learned about that awful update a ways back. Shame

Tier 7 is my favorite tier and yet I can't really remember ever having a favorite. Black Prince was nice back when they added it, but became so bad over time... It's just hard to say. A-44 is always a good time though, I'll put that as a top pick.
The T29 game was a pure example of when the RNG plays the game instead of you. If the shot goes to the edge of the reticule due to the dispersion RNG and also receives a +25% to damage, where it happens to be a weaker area of a tank, it will do damage regardless of where you intended to shoot thus helping you > KV-2 giggles! Or, the other way around, aiming at a weak point but getting -25% to the penetration thus the roll is lower than the armor... ding! > frustration
That T-29 match is a good example of my typical match. Losing match and the game not letting my rounds go where I'm aiming with me screaming, "Game! I could make a difference here if you would just let me shoot where I'm aiming!"
Tier 7 is my sweet spot I like to play at in the game. High enough tier that most of the mechanics and subsequent skill of higher tier vehicles are present, but low enough tier that its not a horrible sweat fest like at tier 10. Basically a nice balance of fun, higher skill and relaxing
so true, exactly how I feel as well. And light tanks at that tier are still useful, because you still can outspot the enemies, at least if u are top tier. From tier 8 onward even most of the heavy tanks have high view range (looking at you Renegade, with 400m base view range). What sucks about high tiers is that there pretty much every tank has the same or even better view range than light tanks (especially at tier X).
Tier 10 is kinda boring since most meta vehicles up there are pretty similar in characteristics like super tough armour profile and similar gun (say, 390, 400, 440 or 490 alpha gun with some 750 alpha TDs then and there) with maybe a little speed added to race into position.
@@robinkhn2547 I reckon they could improve the game by making view range mechanics constant through the tiers. Tier X sucks for me because "not being spotted" is hardly ever an issue.

The year of invasion was 1941, immediately after the attack on Pearl Harbour, and not 1943 which Amirul said. Thailand (or Siam as they were known back then) were themselves victims of Japanese aggression. Siam, were the only independent country in ASEAN back then as they were never colonized. The king of Siam, Pibul Songgram, knew they had no chance of defeating the invading Japanese so they opted earlier surrender and cooperation. Man how I love the Comet! And I think it's for the same reasons as yours. The gun depression just feels so refreshing, rate of fire is awesome, it's agile... I mean what else could you really ask for? I also love the Panther, I guess I'm pretty good at tanks that don't have that much alpha damage, but can shoot quite quickly. Also It's nice to see you've still got the Belarussian flag on your Comet. What a nice reference. :)
My favorite remains the Tiger P. As that actually gave me the tiger experience I was looking for with the extra armor. This is in the earlier days of the game so armor meant something and not everyone knew all the weak points yet.

I'd be lying if I wouldn't say that my favorite tier 7 is the GW Panther but if I have to pick something else than a clicker, then I'm propably going to have to take the VK 45.03. And even if neither of them is very good, I loved to play them.
T29 hands down has always been my favourite tank in the game. Like almost a 60% win rate in over 10k games with it. Any time I hit a run of bad luck being on bad teams or the RNG starts screwing me I always go back to it to kick some butt. 😏
my all time favorite tank will always be the KV-2. But my most liked tier 7 is the IS and the KV-3. Both Tanks carry the same decent 122mm gun that i love (not the accuracy and penetration). I more like the IS because it has a very good acceleration for a heavy and it is generally fun to play. KV-3 has this more of a slower roll and has more effective armour even though it has almost the same thickness of armour. But I just like these heavies both because they are at the same tier and carry the same gun.
T29 was fun. T32 was pain until the turret upgrade. The t34 as a T9 was utter pain. The T30 was the laughing stock of Tier X.. Thanks for that trip down memory lane

My view is that if you use your computer for any vital work, or you don't want to risk being a vector... now is the time to take the advice of every 12 year old you have played against and: 'uninstall'. A break of a few months or more might even be good for you. (I'm not suggest QB stop - that is his livelihood, and he is n a quite different position that most of us. And, of course, I will continue to watch his videos).

I would love to hear some expert opinion on the security implications of having a WG title installed on your pc. Cyber attacks are not unknown to originate from Russian servers and online games are open end to end?
I three marked Comet last year in 180 battles (two marked it in 70) and I think that gun depression is overrated, maps are pretty flat today. But it has some camo and great view range with a good crew. Other good feature is that gun is accurate at distance. But otherwise I think that DPM is overrated, it's great when you are behind enemy tank or he crosses open ground far in the distance. Otherwise I feel like T20 is better cause it can shoot once and then get unspotted or select different target which is more realistic. Comet cant risk to fire two shots or more staying fully exposed and spotted, it does not have turret armor to survive that.
@@agbrenv absolutely is, I got mine right before the holiday event 2021, and I got the tier 8 shortly after on several ace tankers and 60%+ WR. it's such a good medium tank. It really does everything, might be the best tank tier for tier irrespective of class. It can brawl, it can snipe in a pinch, it has decent dpm, fantastic turret armour, good mobility. With a solid crew it feels unstoppable at times.

QB, I’ve been playing WOT almost as long as you have, and I’ve been following your videos since the days of TOG games with Jingles & Ike. I can’t ignore what is going on in Ukraine and I can’t pretend that I don’t understand that Wargaming is a Belarusian company whose revenues contribute to the economy of one of the only two countries (the other being Syria) to support the Russian invasion. I’m questioning whether I should keep playing the game. Of course Putin doesn’t care whether or not I play WOT but if I think what Russia and Belarus have done to Ukraine is wrong, and the only direct contact I have with either country is through this game then I’m thinking that morally, I ought to stop playing. I wonder what you think about this, because I’ve followed your videos for a long time and I’ve seen you take principled stances on loot box gambling and pay-to-win changes, but I recognise that it may be particularly complicated because of your Belarus in-laws. What do you think?
Why can you see whenever you get spotted? I’m fairly new to WoT, so maybe that’s a dum question, but personally, I’ve never seen the lightbulb whenever I get spotted. And also, why can you aim in up to 25x? Max for me is 8x.
It's been 2 weeks since your comment, but just in case you are still wondering about it, the lighbulb comes from the commander skill "sixth sense" and the high zoom is an option inside the game settings

The Comet was my absolute favorite tank in the game years ago until they removed the exhaust scoop at the back and raised the turret a little. As stupid as it sounds, it completely ruined the aesthetics of it for me. Stopped playing the game a couple weeks after that.
Im sure many of you will laugh, but I have only played two tier 7 tanks so far. the tiger 1 and the tiger p. I liked them both and found myself in situation where I would have prefered the other one. If I had to choose, the Tiger 1 is my favorite.
The t29 on Xbox is truly easy mode. I play mainly on PC but there was a time when Xbox was the only way I had a reliable connection and i 3 marked the t29 with ease there. Can't get more than one mark on anything in PC.
QB, do you have any plans to switch games and break your contracts with wargaming considering their stance and funding of Belarus in light of the Russian/Belorussian invasion of Ukraine? At the very minimum, a statement regarding the conflict?

There's no stopping a T29.
You're top tier? You're a big bully.
Mid tier? Easily the best defender.
Bottom tier? The game's most annoying roadblock.
Just an insane tank tbh. If you have good positioning u can have a huge impact in battles even against tier 9's.

I like British tanks particularly the Cromwell but the Comet seems a lot slower and only average at T7. Cromwell far better medium for T6.

T29 is the true King of tier VII. Always loved it, always will. AT-7 is great too but I haven't played the Comet and T-34-1 yet.
There is definitely something to playing t6 and t7 games where you actually have a game unfold at a fun, competitive pace.

Nice my fav tank T-34-1 is #1. Played 247 games with it. Winrate is 62% in that tank.

I would love to hear some expert opinion on the security implications of having a WG title installed on your pc. Cyber attacks are not unknown to originate from Russian servers and online games are open end to end?
How are those two related?
WG headquarters are in cyprus, the EU servers are in germany and the netherlands.
I three marked Comet last year in 180 battles (two marked it in 70) and I think that gun depression is overrated, maps are pretty flat today. But it has some camo and great view range with a good crew. Other good feature is that gun is accurate at distance. But otherwise I think that DPM is overrated, it's great when you are behind enemy tank or he crosses open ground far in the distance. Otherwise I feel like T20 is better cause it can shoot once and then get unspotted or select different target which is more realistic. Comet cant risk to fire two shots or more staying fully exposed and spotted, it does not have turret armor to survive that.

@@agbrenv it is, the power creep that makes old tech tree tanks obsolete doesn’t kick in until tier 8.
@@agbrenv absolutely is, I got mine right before the holiday event 2021, and I got the tier 8 shortly after on several ace tankers and 60%+ WR. it's such a good medium tank. It really does everything, might be the best tank tier for tier irrespective of class. It can brawl, it can snipe in a pinch, it has decent dpm, fantastic turret armour, good mobility. With a solid crew it feels unstoppable at times.
@@tankerbruja unfortunately WG is doing everything they can to make the game as little fun as possible, 3-15 battles constantly, fully aimed shots missing the tank entirely, extreme low rolls on 1 hit tanks which could turn the tide of battles, ruining and removing good maps while adding shitty city maps, adding to the infinite list of OP premiums, autoloaders everywhere ruining the game balance and making older tanks irrelevant
I'm exremely regrettful of restarting this game after a 4 year hiatus, I should have long forgotten it and never return, playing this game often equal misery which is the exact opposite feeling games should give

QB, I’ve been playing WOT almost as long as you have, and I’ve been following your videos since the days of TOG games with Jingles & Ike. I can’t ignore what is going on in Ukraine and I can’t pretend that I don’t understand that Wargaming is a Belarusian company whose revenues contribute to the economy of one of the only two countries (the other being Syria) to support the Russian invasion. I’m questioning whether I should keep playing the game. Of course Putin doesn’t care whether or not I play WOT but if I think what Russia and Belarus have done to Ukraine is wrong, and the only direct contact I have with either country is through this game then I’m thinking that morally, I ought to stop playing. I wonder what you think about this, because I’ve followed your videos for a long time and I’ve seen you take principled stances on loot box gambling and pay-to-win changes, but I recognise that it may be particularly complicated because of your Belarus in-laws. What do you think?

Why can you see whenever you get spotted? I’m fairly new to WoT, so maybe that’s a dum question, but personally, I’ve never seen the lightbulb whenever I get spotted. And also, why can you aim in up to 25x? Max for me is 8x.
It's been 2 weeks since your comment, but just in case you are still wondering about it, the lighbulb comes from the commander skill "sixth sense" and the high zoom is an option inside the game settings

The Comet was my absolute favorite tank in the game years ago until they removed the exhaust scoop at the back and raised the turret a little. As stupid as it sounds, it completely ruined the aesthetics of it for me. Stopped playing the game a couple weeks after that.
My favourite tier 7 is the KV-3. It was my first tier 7 tank in the game and i like it bcs it has goog turret armor a great gun but it is too slow.

Im sure many of you will laugh, but I have only played two tier 7 tanks so far. the tiger 1 and the tiger p. I liked them both and found myself in situation where I would have prefered the other one. If I had to choose, the Tiger 1 is my favorite.

The t29 on Xbox is truly easy mode. I play mainly on PC but there was a time when Xbox was the only way I had a reliable connection and i 3 marked the t29 with ease there. Can't get more than one mark on anything in PC.
