Using the 609 to record and it’s been awesome. We now use a Sm57 offset and the 609 over center cone. Really provides a very nice complete sound together.
I am sure you hear this so many times that you are nauseated. I love your tone and the fact that you share how to do it with us. Thank you for everything you do to assist the guitar community in being better guitarists.
The Annie Clarke (St. Vincent) signature guitar is a rare piece. Much like the gorgeous and brilliant singer-songwriter-guitarist lady who inspired it. And sadly, out of my price range. I prefer the e-906 better for its versatility and better sound. I like the e-609 for it's price. That said, they are both good microphones. The extra $ will be worth it for the versatility and more robust sound.
During the sound samples I liked the presence boost the most because it felt the most alive but it also seemed a bit noisy. You wisely prioritized how it would sound in a mix. Did you try using the presence boost on the lead guitar track? It might not have been the sound your were looking for since you could have achieved the same result with a boost or eq pedal but it would have been an interesting experiment. Which makes me wonder whether there would be an audible difference between the presence switch vs an eq pedal.
That Ernie Ball guitar is shaped so wierd... but sounds so good. Tremendous tone. Sounds great with extra presence. They do say Sean has the best presence.

I’ve always done 57 slightly off the center and the e609 offset.
I might have to try that.
Love the chord progression. And the Bass arpeggio didnt go unnoticed 🤟
That jazzy chord progression was really nicely done Sean! 👍👏😉
Thanks so much Steve!
The best guitar tone is only the best guitar tone today …ask me again tomorrow 👍😎🎸

Plus he’s handsome too
Nauseated means sickened. I’m not sure that’s what you mean.

Thanks so much! I LOVE that STV!
Some of your best work, Sean. I like how on the guitar bit, the high notes ring out, but the low notes don't. Sounds like a band.
Thanks so much! Yeah I feel like it was a good mix. I appreciate you watching!
e609 more natural for me :)
Good stuff!
I like the jazzy jam track
Thanks Scott!
Listening with my eyes closed I liked the 906 with the presence cut best. But the straight up 609 was a close second!
Half the price too
Wow ! The ending bass…..👏 oh ? did you ever find a comfortable leather coat ? Keep em coming kid …..
Thanks so much! Still lookin
If the 609 comes rattling in the box like that every time I gotta buy the other one 😅
I'm sure the box rattles 177 percent more then that riding in the back of a mail truck.

Hey Sean, you formed an opinion on the Tonemaster range yet? I’ve tried the Super & the DR. I’m tempted. 😊
I like your original song Parador
Thanks so much! That's one of my favorites too!

With this music, it’s really hard to hear the differences, even with headphones.
Only perfect recording IME was with a ribbon about 1 foot away
