Jerry has never made a bad song in his entire career, solo or not. The man is without a doubt one if the most passionate and talented singer-songwriters in history. I can't wait to hear more from this legend. Thank you for bringing us all along for the ride, Jerry!
Best songwriter of all time in my book.
🤟🤟
Thank Layne for making him sing his songs, Layne told him " you wrote it you should sing it" many many years ago, he pushed him to sing in Alice and chains.
you got good taste my friend
@@puppetmaster8551 he’s amazing but you know about Lennon/McCartney right?
Protect Jerry at all costs. One of the last grunge gods, still standing tall. You could say he's... _Last of My Kind_
Yes bubble wrap him now! Lol.
There needs to be a Rifflord statue you can see before you get to Seattle in the skylight 💕
ditto!
@@ranger5281 wonders who he’s calling sir to? 🤣
More than grunge. Much more.
Jerry keeps getting better, like a fine wine! Can’t wait to hear more more from him. We saw him at the recent Nashville show. The band was tight and Jerry’s passion in his performance shined. Of all the concerts I’ve seen this was by far THE BEST! If you haven’t seen him live…you have no idea what you’re missing!
AGREED
Like his Vino less Paul... 😉
I was gonna see him in Orlando. But he cancelled the show cause of corona :|
@@monkeyliver1986 the Nashville show was on April 17th right after that. He was definitely getting over something. You could tell he wasn't feeling too well but Jerry being the type of performer he is gave it 200%. Nobody in the entire place sat down for the whole concert and they played about two and a half hours. It was unbelievable. Hopefully at some point he'll make the concert up in your area and if he does you should do whatever you can to make sure you go. It's worth every penny!
@Barbara Schlegel When you replied to the Orlando CoVid Cancellation Comment, did you mean Nashville Show April 17th was after the cancelled Orlando show? And even though he was sick, he still performed well...Wow. I was at this BigNightLive Boston Show April 6th...I thought I was the only person wearing a mask (until I just saw the video) but the majority wore no masks. And cheering loud and singing along..Lots of microDroplets flying around that’s for sure. Plus there were no glass barriers between stage and crowd... And I was worried Jerry and Band may get the SarsCovid virus...I guess 2 weeks later they got sick and had to cancel shows?? Glad they’re ok now... They all looked good at this Boston show and Jerry looked really Happy 😊❤️
Not bragging here.. just want to share. Outside of the Houston show I ran into Jerry and he handed me a white pick after handing me a red one when I met him. I tried not to invade his space as he was headed to the bus. Then about 50' away I spot Greg so super lucky!!! Greg stops takes a pic wit me with no hesitation. I got a few quick ones and I love them not to mention my shot with Jerry♥️ After the pic Greg sat on a curb near the bus and talked to someone important to him. I almost wish I would of snapped a pic smit would of looked very cool but I gave him his privacy.
Thank you guys for an Amazing show and this vid♥️💯
I can always feel Laynes presence around Jerry when he puts out new material. Just close your eyes n you'll know what I'm talking about.
God Bless you Jerry. Great tune.
Yep!
Yeah....................its probably because Jerry wrote 90% of the lyrics Layne sang. Just like Pete Townshend with Roger Daltry.
Where do you star? I think he has been way under rated over the years. From Alice in Chains onward. With his voice I never could understand why AIC needed another lead singer. He is a survivor, and just keeps rocking. Bless you Jerry!
The vocals on his albums are always so brilliant.
All of his vocals are brilliant. ✌🏻
He may not have the biggest vocal range but goddamn he’s an awesome vocalist who is always perfect live.
@@puppetmaster8551 The arrangement and harmonies are unequalled.
best thing are keyboards that makes music fuller and better...I would put keyboards at he same level of guitars.
I see what you did there... 👍😉
There needs to be a Rifflord statue you can see before you get to Seattle in the skylight erected in honor of the Grudge God…Jerry Fulton Cantrell Jr.💕💕💕
Jerry is a complete gentleman in person. Couldn't meet a nicer guy - tough to find that quality in someone with his (extensive) accomplishments. Thanks for everything you've done for all of us Jerry.
I got kicked out of a Jerry fan group on Facebook because some people were complaining about him being grumpy during the after show signings. I was like, GTFO town, and they banned me, lol. He is, no doubt, a total gentleman and the best of the best. A humble Genius who has persevered against all odds to continue to bring us the gift of his music. Will allow no criticism on my watch, lol.
I have not had the pleasure....sadly 😢...hopefully I will get to see him.
Cantrell is simply timeless 🤘🏻🖤
uh... no. last time i saw him he didn't have gray hair.
and what happened to AIC?
Amen!
@@bucket0rocks it goes way beyond the image Bucket o'rocks.
I think Jerry is proving to be the musical genius I always knew he was. The albums, bot solo and AIC just keep getting better and better
We Stand Above a Place to Fall
It is just absurd to realise that Jerry has never produced any bad sound or song in his entire career (someone else commented something similar, and it's so so so true). AiC is so important and yet underrated (definitely appreciated by many influential musicians but somehow I feel they are not yet appreciated enough). Thank you, GENIUS!
Well said. Yes i bet my life he's a sweetheart too. And a real son of s bitch too! Best of both b worlds
Om thrilled for him and his bands going so absolutely off the charts awesome . No one deserves it more or worked harder for it. I Love you Jerry. Or Mr. Cantrell......what would you prefer I call you?😮❤🎉😊❤❤😊
Oh, O forgot to add he's a Badass M F !!!! Oooh yeah@ ! I say that with the finest of intentions intuition intuitiveness intelligence important
He "has to know" (get it lol sexy grin) the balls in his court in every sense of the word. He could do anything he's dreamed of the sky's the limit for the man (out of the box) I couldn't help it. present and.futuristicly fantastic frenzy of finesse and fuc.... fun!! For all now this bleed the Freak has to freak is freakin" cause I almost quit smokin' now I want ONE! I AINT JOKIN' OR CHOKIN' lost my train if thought. Sorry gang blame my age I'm 1 year younger then the man in the box. Well there were 4?
Thank you Jerry. We love you oh so very much ❤️❤️❤️❤️
His voice is a callback to an entirely different energy and time may it live forever
I was just thinking the same thing and went back and played cut u I with tears in my eyes. I’m an old man now and how I miss old days
I love Greg Puciato's harmonizing as well. Warms my heart like so many of those great tracks from the early days. Great record, and I would expect nothing less from Jerry...never disappoints. Thank you.
Seattle music scene still rocks.
JERRY FOR PRESIDENT
Hello Dorathy
How are you doing today?
Nice meeting you here
Fantastic!! I remember buying “Boggy Depot” when it came out and just being impressed as hell and absolutely smitten. This man is an icon. Who pulled himself out of the hole that swallows too many amazing artists. Huge respect. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That crowd cheering Jerry is well deserved as a recognition for a great artist!! ❤❤❤
Love you forever and always jerry RIP Layne staly you guys truly were on a different planet then the rest my all time favorite band Alice in chains man in the box
Awesome ❤️❤️❤️❤️🌟🌟🌟🌟🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I can’t understand why you don’t make a tour in South America… you have many fans here man!
Same down here in Australia! 🇦🇺
Amazing song . Of course Jerry’s riffs/vocals/harmonizing w/Greg Puciato , but that Hammond ( ?) organ just sends it next level . Anyone else catch a few notes of Tom Perry’s ‘Refugee’ in the organ solo ? Flawless album as always from JC . All hails .
His vocals melodie’s are an inspiration to everyone who sings! So good!
Listen to old dandy warhols. Seems like he did.
Jerry Cantrell never disappoints. Can’t wait for another Alice In Chains album
Jerry and Pearl Jam lined-up on back to back nights next month in London. Can’t wait.
You’ll have an amazing time!!
Jerry never disappoints. Except when he skips my city and state while on tour! 😠 😂
What state, I live in AZ and got skipped too it sucked
Load up a mule and go anyway! 🐴🤘
@@puppetmaster8551 We're in AZ and decided to drive to Vegas and it was worth every minute.
Iowa gets ignored for good shows no matter who it is.
@@joshuablume807 That sucks. And Chicago is probably a pain to drive to. We venture to Vegas when possible and try to avoid LA, but I ended up seeing PJ there last month.
Your solo work as well as AIC, is a treasure trove that never fails to take my breath away. 💫
So excited that #JerryCantrell included me at 2:34 (The fist bump guy). Super excited cause #HadToKnow is one of the best tracks of the super solid record #brighten ! The show was epic!
Jerry, please come to Brazil. You're freaking awesome 👌
This legendary dude is literally in his musical prime with this new album. It's amazing.
So glad to still hear good kick ass rock n roll new music. Long live rock n roll
Love from nepal ❤️ Jerry Cantrell
There needs to a Grunge God statue erected of Jerry in the city of Grunge Seattle ❤
Love Jerry Cantrell..Music ❤️ 🔥
Thanks for taking out time to comment, I can't return all the love that's been showed to me.
You are a big fan🌹🌹.
Where are you from dear?
4:57 I’m in the left corner with the VANS beanie haha. I remember feeling all ah man I’m too short for this. One of the best shows I’ve been to. Glad to have been a part of this
I love the bass line in this song.
And the guitars. And the Hammond, and Leslie... And the drumming ... just sayin'...
Love me some JERRY CANTRELL!!!
Eu também quero o amor dele🥰❤️

Only if he dyes his beard red white & teal 😁 (teal, like his goatee was in AiC video, w the 'deer beers', a throwback to the old beer commercial, i cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME THINK of, DANG it 🙄🤦♀️) .. you know the one.. w the musical notes & instruments 😂 ,sorry for laughing @my dumb attempt @humour 😳. Oh lawdy, someone hep meh. Jerry for Prez 😎🤘✌🤙🖖
What I really love the most is Jerry’s ghostly tone of AIC that flow through the music. You can never forget where this all started from 🍻
4 sure !! I have chills ! I just said sounds like old AIC.....
Love Jerry, I can imaging lane Stanley harmonising with him
Sooo gooooood🤗🤗🤗🤗
His harmonies with Lane were the stuff of legends, you can hear it here when you close your eyes 😔\m/
Sounds better then ever. Bad ass song
Like a Springer episode. Love it lol
"Had to Know" is one of my top 2 favorites along with "Black Hearts" on Brighten; i love the organ sound and it reminds me of TP's "Dont Do Me Like That" so much
best thing are keyboards that makes music fuller and better...I would put keyboards at he same level of guitars.
Was at the Irving Plaza show in the vid. What a night! Saw them again last night in NJ. Jerry and co. rocked as always!
🤘🏻🤘🏻
He’s just good rock n roll
Love it love it love it 😍
Jerry is the greatest musician of our time, through and through. So much love for him.
Thanks for your endless love and support towards my career over the years, you’re a big fan🌹🌹👍.
Where are you from dear?
Was at the Belasco show, It was amazing!!!! Taking my 16 year old to see one of my all time favorite performers was a mind rip. Incredible show, so much talent up there! We are going through an incredibly difficult time and we both needed to forget for a moment. Thank you!!!
Hopefully you guys can go see AIC later this year too if they come to your area. Anyway hope things get easier for you and your family.
Legend of Rock n Roll! Songs like these bring tears to my eyes. So much soul and feeling. So much heart and passion. That beautiful "Jerry Cantrell" sound.
yes!
Man, he is fing awesome!
Hello Linda
How are you doing today?
Nice meeting you here
You simply can't say enough how great Jerry is.
Love it! Definitely has a "Your Decision" vibe
Have to agree!
Jerry with the G&L rampage! Let's go! I have to thank him for the music he has written over the years as they have spoken to me in every moment of my life. This album has helped me get through my fathers death in February. Music impacts us so much in life. Thank you Jerry.
Hugs
I love G&L! Leo Fender was a true genius.
I knew mike back in day. Jerry tried to carry everyone. Some just never heal
Jerry Cantrell is a living rock legend, I miss his best friend Layne, named my kid Jacob Layne,
I bought Boggy Depot for a dollar from a garage sale. I later bought the 2 disc Degradation Trip after Afghan and I love every minute of Jerry
Me too😂😂😂😅
The brilliance of Jerry... every song performed either recorded or live, is mixed perfectly. Every voice, every instrument can be heard and the tones and sounds are amazing. Most live rock shows are loud and muddy. JC and AIC live are on point with Steely Dan & The Eagles...sonically perfect!
Rock on Jerry!
Love ya
Bye.
Thanks for your endless love and support towards my career over the years, you’re a big fan🌹🌹.
Where are you from dear?
🔥🔥🔥
Jerry’s riffs always fucking kill. Definitely an all time favorite of mine. So consistent and and genuine with his sound.
Jerry Cantrell is a legit inspiration to me and I don't take that word lightly. I wish I could meet the guy and let him know how much of an influence he and AIC have been for me. I'm a musician in that I can play guitar and sing reasonably well but his songwriting on top of his musical talent singing and on guitar are impressive. Also, he's responsible for most of the iconic AIC songs we all love so much. Guy is a treasure, one of the last living grunge Era legends. Always seemed like a pretty cool dude too.
True music God who still impresses and grows a stronger repertoire with each release. Grunge with fire and melody has its purpose still to this day.
Not UNLIKE LYNYRD SKYNYRD, I might add!! No electricity interfering with the basics. Just DRUMS VOCALS BASS AND A BAD ASS GUITAR PLAYER (or two or three in their case)
Just HONEST music that makes SENSE again. WITH LYRICS that MATTER.
I’m surprised there’s no footage from the Raleigh show at the ritz. That show was definitely very special
This is the best Rock&Roll in many decades! What a trip
There's not many songs, in fact very few, that I can go back and listen to many times.
This is one of them.
This is my favorite song off this album
I literally CANT WAIT! This is my favorite song on the album
mine too; its a toss up but this one does it for me
the great cautionary tale of success. what a brilliant songwriter
Nice ending.
Always great to catch a Jerry Cantrell song on you tube.
Always.
Jerry made it through the dark side and survived. Amazing man.
Thank you Jerry for stopping in Houston...we’ll see you again in The Woodlands, TX.
Sensacional! Jerry Cantrell melhor sem dúvidas 👏🎸❤️
Jerry in this tour you lit a fire in many hearts💓🔥🤘 My respect!!!!!
This man is a genious!! Discovered a formula on how to make songs that sound different with the same atmosphere. Strangely timeless despite being period. How come the same formula never sounds the same? Fucking Awesome!!
From Chile 🔥🤘🏻🎸👏🏻👏🏻
I Love Finding Pearlers Like This
Omg, is there no end to his talent for comin up time and time again with great riffs, choruses and vocals?! Jerry Cantrell is a fkng genius songwriter artist and musician!
Cant wait to see him at Roskilde Festival this year :)
I love you Jerry Cantrell ♥️💜♥️💜❤️
Oh Jerry, how much I love you 🥺
Had such bad luck trying to see the tour this year- both legs of the Florida tour cancelled due to Covid, then drove out to Rockville in Daytona- they cut Man in the Box right before the guitar solo!! Aw dude, the four songs he did play were absolutely phenomenal, this man is a performance ARTIST and a master of his craft. Cannot wait until I get to see Alice in Tampa this September!!!! I’m coming for you Jerry!!
Love you Jerry🤝❤️🤩💪🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Wow. This is an amazing song. This sounds just like good old Alice In Chains. This is absolutely incredible. Jerry will have it forever. The old saying goes you still got it. This man will never lose it.
Jerry was the main songwriter for Alice in Chains. Layne only wrote "Man In The Box". So the sound of Alice in Chains was mostly because of Jerry. And Jerry was also in another band before called "Alice 'n' Chains". Rock on, Jerry. Rock on. 🤟 Edit: sorry, but also, fun fact: the song "Rooster" was also about/to/for Jerrys' Father. That's why they're still good.
@@hollyhayes9640 Jerry and Layne both wrote man in the box, not just Layne, Jerry music Layne lyrics. The 3 songs Layne wrote by himself for AIC were head creeps/angry chair/hate to feel, Jerry wrote over 20 songs by himself in the Layne era including almost all of their hits outside of man in the box which was both Jerry and Layne.
@@puppetmaster8551 I think layne also wrote Died in memory of girlfriend. You might know better than I.
@@steveb4515 Layne is definitely talking about demri in that song. Died was going to be a solo Jerry song same with get born again but then he decided to make them AIC songs instead so then Layne wrote lyrics for them and those ended up being the last 2 AIC songs we ever got with Layne. You’re correct tho Layne is 100% talking about demri who died a few years prior
I'm enjoying Jerry's solo stuff more than the current Alice material, and I want more!
Fantastic Jerry Cantrell 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Fan from Portugal🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹
Jerry CANNOT write bad song! Loved seeing him in Dallas! Praying for you Jerry, you need Jesus, love you so much!
no, he does not need jesus. no one does.
Such a Great Musician !
Had a chance to see AIC with GnR in Sturgis in 2010 & they rocked ... like another poster said, these guys just can't put out a bad song .
Favourite track of the album, Jerry just don’t miss. Only artist I can genuinely say that there’s not one song of his I don’t like in some way. What a legend 👏
His music pulled me out of some dark times... ty J.C.
Guitar God. I worship everyday 🤘🏼
Go Jerry! 🤟🇦🇷
That G&L Rampage 😍😍😍
A.I.C. meets dandy warhols.....awesome.😎👍
So much unsaid. Smiles
