The Great Southern Trail Greenway begins here where the old railway station was and is well worth a visit to walk,jog or cycle.The Matrix Castle way is listed in Geoff Hunts book Limerick Nature Trails with views of the River Deel,Wildlife and Fauna ,the Matrix castle can be seen across the river and is on private property.Photos of the town of Rathkeale.
