Thanks for doing this video. My wife is a Thai trans women. We're legally married in California and we're looking forward to getting legally married later this year in Thailand. We've been together now for 22 years so it's been an enormously long wait for this to happen. Happy pride!

Thailand has been open to foreigners for hundreds of years. The old kingdom of Thailand was The Ayutthaya Kingdom is more than 500 years old. The first Western country to enter was Portugal. The Dutch first arrived in 1604. The original name of Thailand was called Siam. There were foreigners who came to trade and some of them were nobles in the Siamese court. Therefore, there are many foreign villages in Siam. French, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, English and Dutch villages. In the past, we called the Dutch people "wilanda", which comes from the Malay word "wilanda". Orang Belanda. In Bangkok, across the river from the Grand Palace is a Portuguese village. In the Ayutthaya period, there were many foreign nobles at the highest level. There were Greeks who were the king's confidants. A Japanese samurai served as the king's bodyguard and became governor of a southern city. When the Ayutthaya Kingdom fell, a Chinese nobleman fought to declare independence and create a new kingdom opposite the Grand Palace called the Thonburi Kingdom. and is the foundation of today's Bangkok. He became king of the kingdom for a short time. In 1634, the VOC or Dutch East India Company assisted the king in fighting the southern empire and was rewarded with land to build a Dutch village. The current Dutch village was reconstructed as a historical information center between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.😊

Now there are only Thai people, but they preserve food and ancient churches and still use the churches for Christians today. There is Portuguese food that has been adjusted to suit Thai people. There was a half-Japanese-Portuguese woman who was famous in Thai history for having been the wife of a very high-ranking Greek nobleman of the Ayutthaya Kingdom (the old kingdom of Thailand). She worked at the royal court as a palace cook. She is the creator of Portuguese desserts that have been transformed into traditional Thai desserts and are still around today. There's a say in Thai "where there's no kratoey, there's no develop" 😆
Kratoey in Thai as per the Royal Thai dictionary means:
1 A person who has both (male and female) genitals (คนที่มีอวัยวะเพศทั้งชายและหญิง)
2 A persone who has mentality and personality opposits of their own gender (คนที่มีจิตใจและกิริยาอาการตรงข้ามกับเพศของตน)
In the past, in Thailand has only word "Kratoey" there was no differenciate between gay and kratoey.
Later when the word gay comes from the western then people start to differentiate themselves between gay and kratoey which gay is for the male-like acting and appearance and kratoey is for female-like act and apprearance aka lady boy

roasted coconut will make water more sweet , it's same process to roasted durian or sugarcane that heat will make fruit more sweet and scent.
And for the believe , Thailand is very mixed like our races, Bhuddhism is main believe in Thailand for overall but Hindunism is use in rural people in the past to make Demigod , it's overlapping ideas in Thai society for long times and hard to be separated because Buddhism and Hinduism was from the same root from India that people were born with their own karma and make them different. Thai people like to enjoy every believes if it give them the answer they want. No matter religions or culture, you can see 'phee' or spirited believe in Thailand too, it's a primary believe in Thai society before Buddhism and Hinduism.

It has to pass the royal endorsement to be announced by the royal gazette (aka to be made law).
But the thing is, almost 100% of the bills that passed to that stage get endorsed. Even bills that passed both houses with far less votes got endorsed at the very worst by the deadline (meaning there’s a pretty good chance it will be made law before 120 days).
So it’s pretty much a done deal. Yayyy!

  • @FarangNick
    @FarangNick 3 месяца назад +1

Laws have to be published in the Royal Gazette before they takw effect. It's a formal step which is necessary for any law.
Remember me from the critique about your wrong information about the possible new visa and visa exempt rules ? Those new rules weren't and still haven't been published in the Royal Gaaette, so they don't exist yet.
As for the new laws regarding marriage : they still need to get published to take effecf, but in this case it is just a matter of time.
I have been living in Thailand for decades. I don't know any of my Thai friends who is against marriage equality, and most of the people I know are already at an "aunty" age.
How LGBTetc can be themselves in society is an important marker to judge that society for me.
I am used to see trans everywhere, working as very openly trans/gay etc.. so when I go to another country and suddenly I don't see trans or gay people anymore (or only very few) it is weird and a sign something is wrong.

I think the direct and formal translation of “transgender woman” is ผู้หญิงข้ามเพศ (Pu Ying Kham Pet) which is a woman who transitions from another gender
    Ying kham Pet for short
    and
    “Kham Pet” can means Transgender
but the word is more like a verb than a noun in Thai, so there is Ying or Chai (which is woman and man respectively) before it to be clear

Beer brands diversify into soda/soft drinks because of the restrictive laws on beer advertising. That way when you see their soda water/soft drink products, you think of the main beer brand. Just like you did when you saw the booth.
At the same time it is of course good for profits to get a share of the soda water/ soft drinks market of course.

I’m attracted to lady’s and trans, it doesn’t worry me. If I like the person I don’t care what they are.

Omg. Firstly, I just wanna say you're absolutely fab girl, very pretty and you seem really sweet. I stumbled upon your channel today and I've been binge-watching your videos for like, the past hour. Btw that part about you growing up as a gay boy was so relatable, and I love that you’re showing Thai culture and other cultures on your channel. I also want to visit Thailand in the future when I’m able to do so. Btw I’m 20 and as someone who’s about to start my transition, you give me so much inspiration. Love you. Much love from Sydney, Australia
