Lyrics
You messed around with all my friends and everyone you see
But you’re trying to ride the wild when you mess around with me
And all my friends tell me they see you out on the town
They all look down upon you with some pity and a frown
Bank shot baby, I saw through your eyes
I see you run around with a thousand other guys
Tell them all your newly thought up lies
You don’t want to be wanted by someone else new
If you can’t show some love for me then I don’t want to see you
Girl you got me runnin’ - why can’t you see
Now lately when I wake, it’s on the wrong side of the bed
And I know your voice distinctly, it reverberates in my head
And all my friends tell me they see you out on the town
Tryin’ to ride the wild, but the words been passed around
Ride the wild baby, you like to ride all night
Ride the wild baby, I’m sure you’re not so tired
Come on baby now give me a try
You don’t want to be wanted by someone else new
If you can’t trust a liar, then I don’t want to trust you
Girl you got me running, why can’t you see

Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

Idk why but I've always thought that caricature of Bill is just the cutest thing ever. Especially the original drawing lol
It’s always great to hear a tune that I grew up with…I must’ve been 15 or so when I picked up Two Things at Once on cassette tape…I’m 48 now…(ugh 😐😯🤣) It’s cool to hear an updated recording with modern production and Milo on vocs. That being said, I wouldn’t say I think it’s any better or worse than the original version with Frank Navetta on vocs. However it’s def cool that Frank is on guitar on both versions and 9th & Walnut is def a treat for us old skool Descendents fans. The original line up playing old, unreleased/“lost” tunes!!!
The record that could have been as a direct follow up to Milo Goes to College had that line up stayed together and kept it going. At least we have it now. Better late than never!! Cheers
Actually, I think this is the album we couldv've gotten before Milo Goes To College. Bill said they wrote these songs between 77-80 before they knew how to play instruments and before they knew how to write songs. He said this songs didn't make it to MGTC because they weren't good enough.
@@punkxxt yeah I was just referring to that time period and line up in general. It obviously couldn’t have been their first album as MGTC was…along with Fat EP: Hectic World & Ride the Wild.
My point is that it’s cool the different directions each line up wound up going. All of the first 4 Descendents albums had a pretty distinct flavor while staying true to their signature sound, energy, and intensity. Goes to College, I Don’t Want to Grow Up, Enjoy, and ALL (featuring their final and longest running enduring line up). It’s rare for a band to pull these things off and Descendents did it (do it) flawlessly. Cheers 🍻
Two incredibly co-equal versions of an incredible song. Bank shot, baby!
I’m 15 rn and I love it
I just gotta say HOLY CRAP MILO KILLED THIS!
Way harder than the original recording!
For as mild-mannered as Milo seems the dude is a ball of angst on anything he does, I love it.
To be honest I prefer the original recording.
This is great. It is more aggressive than the original.
The original was the band at the time. Everything after that is based on that core principle.
Absolutely brilliant.
@@waltercoyle6393 I totally agree, I like the aggressiveness on this version however I love the surf style punk rock of the original...
@@waltercoyle6393 They are equally awesome in their own incredible ways. I want the original distortion in this one!
@@johnsmith-em2wp We got two versions of a great song. Frank is always THEE Descendent!
omg its more amazing than i thought it would be
Yes
This is magic!
this song is so good
I always wondered what ride the wild would have sounded like with Milo. It fucking rocks. I was able to pick up the green vinyl of this compilation and it fucking rocks.
Who remembers frank😿 rip
Frank man - parents!
Me.
If Nightage wasn't on this album I think this one would be the best track on it.
Nightage KILLS
Yea
It's my favorite album in years. I can't pick a track.
@@jasonispunk A-fuckin-men
Ride the wild
My third favorite off this album
This is Epic
Thanks
If only they drenched this in reverb like the original it would be awesome
BOSS! OI!
❤️❤️❤️
In hindsight, the main riff from Blew by Nirvana ended up sounding a bit like the bass intro from Ride The Wild
NGL Descendents was the prototype for whole poppy punk/emo vibe
I think among us copies the bass
LMAO bro I just realized that
am I the only one that thinks the bassline sounds like amongus
Same scale so yeah. Actually talked about this with a friend a few months ago ahahah
It does
XD😂
:D
Always been confused as to why anyone wants to ride a wild baby. You could probably walk there faster.
This sucks. Everything about it. The production. The drawings. Milo...
Final grade : F-
This version sucks. The original version is what makes it a song
