It was for the old U.S. taxation tariffs at the Customs. The USA charged an import fee for imported watch movements regarding their quality. An adjusted movement with many jewels was taxed heavier than a simpler movement. It is still noticeable that many vintage watches sold in the USA bear less jewels and refinement than their European counterparts originally sold outside of the U.S. Typical example of the era would be the Omega 56x Series: The U.S. version (eg. 560) would have 17 jewels only as all the others (eg. 562) would have 24.
Come on…he’s applying it and just not filming it. There are a million videos out there you can watch people lubricate watch pivots if that’s what you’re after.
Watch parts are fragile. Handling must be done with caution. Holding it too hard can damage it. Hand gloves are thicker, but finger gloves are thinner, giving a more refined touch. It's easier to control the weight of the handle.
Love the old Heuers. Beautiful watch. Thanks for the video.
Very rare Heuer. Exquisite movement.
When you turned it over with the new crystal… Wow!

Mechanically perfect watch but why not buff out the case? At least get rid of the small scratches.
I think he wants to preserve this one. Plus I think it’s probably a plated case so it might not be wise to polish.
