GM quadra jet carbs are tough and easy to tune, as long as the throttle shaft bore isn't egged out. The square body Chevy is a beast of a work horse. Easy to modify to suit your needs. Good to see you working on more than just Ford's. Keep up the great content.
@Misfit Toys it's hard to do that with work and stuff, but it's always nice watching videos. He's a fan of you and even my mom likes ya. Definitely gonna have to show them more of you. Especially the Ford you did one of my favorite videos.
The square body looks to be in fairly good condition, the engine sounds all right also. Looking forward to seeing future repairs. Keep up the good work guys 👍✌️🇺🇲
Oh hell yeah this is going to be a good one. They all are don't get me wrong. One thing that I really liked about your channel is a variety of things you working on it's not like a lot of other RUclipsrs who been stuck in the Rut the only doing will it run videos it gets old like to see you work on your own rigs in your own stuff and then some other stuff here and there. As always thank you for the hard work you put into the channel for us it is greatly appreciated.
Chevrolet's High Energy Ignition (HEI) from the Delco-Remy Division of General Motors was first offered in 1974 on production cars, though in very limited numbers. In 1975, HEI became standard on all GM vehicles.Mar 5, 2019
And that is vacume advance it goes down to the trans if you don't hook it up, it will only have 1st gear. Ditch the Quadra puke put an edelbrock. Save time. Base settings runs perfectly. Glad you saved it she's nice
Vacuum advance has nothing to do with the transmission. Vacuum advance is in the distributor. That is the vacuum modulator valve, and yes, it has to be hooked up, but not necessarily through thermo vacuum switch.
I have owned three squarebodys in the four years that I have been driving and two of those were full time four wheel drives. I have never had a problem with it before. Not sure why they get a bad wrap but I’ve taken them through some rough terrain and pulled with them and Even went 105 in one of the trucks. But I still wish I could do a burn out or do doughnuts. Got a neat truck there. Hope she serves you well.
Full time 4x4 put unneccesary wear on components and eat more fuel. The 203 is a beefy unit, but I have witnessed some of them slipping chains when used hard.
I have had 3 np203 that I just took the none lockout hubs out and replaced with lockout hubs. Been working for years that way. Driveshaft does not spin in 2wd. Luckily you had a great np205. Mine drives great down the road and with the lockouts it does not wear the front out. Just wanted to tell you all.
This Mississippi transplant from Indiana will take whatever trucks you "Ford Boys" don't want. I'm not brand snooty. I love all 4X4 vehicles made in USA.
I thought Ford mechanics had the largest assortment of special adjustment tools in the industry. More hammers than a metal working body man! Just joking, I’ve got em all, Fords GM Mopar and off shore. Over 50 total. Mine are all up here in Alaska I’ve got about half of them running, but at age 73 I’m running out of birthdays to get ‘em finished. Oldest is a 1936 front wheel drive Cord Westchester. Take care and I just subscribed.
That glad u got her running all the old chevy that I get out of the sandhills first thing I have to get new. Is starter fuel pump and cap. Make sure u check the trans case oil😋
I wish there was footage of them getting it out of the forest seeing how it stood there it always starts whit the car on the trailer thats the only thing what i missed but nice vid getting it going again👍👍
Not shure why you are getting an anti-GM vibe? I am definitely a Ford enthusiast but I outgrew the attitude of having to hate on GMs a long time ago. There actually is a late 60's Chevy wagon on my marketplace watchlist at the moment. I just cant logically justify it at the moment.
The best part was when you fellars said "it's alive from its grave" you just mocked every 20-something youtuber doing revivals and acted like they just turned water into wine and it was mint!! Lmao

I dont know what Aaron plans on doing with the quadrajet but throwing it out was not an option for him!
I hate that I started showing my dad these videos, now I gotta wait till he gets home to watch it. I'll pre like it though.
Enjoy all the time you can with your Dad. I miss mine

It's never too late to change for the better.
I would like to see more on this truck. Get it running good, and give it a bath! I see potential!
Me too
Fix your vacuum leaks before you try timing it. Then adjust your carb.

Pretty decent truck for free!
GM. Hei. Came. Out on late. 1974. :callilacs
Needs ign 12 volts to run off HEI
One thing about working on those old trucks is if you don't have a bad back you will after reaching over into that dog house lol

Revivals are fine but arguably pointless if you dont do something with the vehicle after getting it going again in my opinion
Good job getting the old square body going👍looking forward to more videos on your adventures
I look forward to putting them out for you.

HEI was standard long before 2019. Not sure where you got that info. I'd say, probably 1979.
Runs pretty good sound good fix it up and drive it use it for work truck are driving down and back it's got potential
Very nice work nice to see this one going again thanks 👍 Lee ps. Hello
They were thinking, full time is awesome and they were correct.
Thems fightin' words!!
Not a bad find, looks less work than some I've seen, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Great vid!!!!!!! 👍👍

Quadrajet is a very dependable carburetor. They mostly just have issues with the bowl plugs leaking. Easily repaired with a little epoxy.
@@twinkie27271 nope boat anchor that's all there good for never seen a good one period

Better hurry, you only have another 30 years in you! Seems like quite the collection! Fun stuff!

We definitely should have. Almost everything went wrong! Only goid thing that happened was that not a single brake was stuck!!
NICE

I'll take it
That spider 🕷️ though lol
Bet he was juicy one when it was alive!
It was just a shell where it shed it's skin.
Being a ford guy, you my guy underestimate the power Chevy…back then they made them to last
I'm a Ford guy to but if a sbc will rotate it will run (probably not well). Here's to watching the action
I have seen quite a few SBC revivals where people put WAY more time and money into getting them running again than I would be willing to do
You got to keep the cadi.
My dad bought a Chevy square body that sat for 19 years and I turn the key and it cranked right up but the ford beside it never started
Yay??
If they'll crank, they'll usually run. Ford, Chevy, Dodge, or Edsel.
Ive been looking for a old car like that to drive back and forth to the bus stop
Narrator sounds like Nicholas Cage.
I am a Ford guy.
At 13:35 he totally said yep or it was the funniest nope I ever heard
He said yep, no.
Can someone list the proper bulb replacement for the “spark do bobber on-er” 😂
I think you need to put on sum frash lucite tape on. Your gas line.....
It's a Chevy not a Ford, the only fire you need to worry about is in the cylinders.
"Distributer inspection portal " is a dwell adjustment portal .
Thanks for the info
Not bad for a couple of ford boi's
Aaron is mostly a GM guy. I am definitely Ford oriented though.
Explains you thinking you were retarding the timing.
You probably should have fixed that giant vacuum leak
We did eventually
Im 100% ford guy myself but i like tinkering and working on them all.
Mechanical principals are the same no matter what brand you are working on
FIX THAT BAD VACUUM LEAK AND IT WILL RUNN BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6 weeks til a swap meet. Oh man yeah.
Lmmfao let's see tesla pull this off after sitting for 15 years 🤣. #AMERICANMUSCLE 💪💪
add a fuel tank to it save time
You can't kill a Chevy small block! They just wanna live!
You been talking to Mortske?😅

33 seconds in and i agree, what the HELL are you doing with a square body
What is life without trying something different occasionally?
Would be a fun wheeling rig.

I fail to see why they have went crazy in value here. It's not like the supply of them has dwindled. They are all over the countryside here.
Who's the guy constantly whining!
