Not necessary if you are not interested in inertia forces, you could use mass scaling option to speed up the simulation but you must check energy balance during simulation.
I want to model a steel pipe subjected to internal pressure. I want to model the crack growth also when the internal pressure exceeds the operating pressure of the pipe can you help with this ?

i cheked couples of articles but they don't indicate the values of the parameters .they are confidential to the laboratory or the company they work with .any way thank you for your response .
OK, there should be some curves like stress-strain or fracture stress or strain or so on. you need to do the same simulation and fit your data with those curves.

How can I find the ductile damage parameters of materials (ex : 1045 steel) . If anyone know, help me please !
