The audiobook of Heavy is wonderful. He narrates it in almost a poetic way, it is very lyrical. I want to get to The Mercies and The vanishing Half in 2021. And finish The Thomas Cromwell trilogy. I’ve read Wolf Hall twice but I haven’t read Bring up the Bodies yet, for some reason I am still intimidated!
That's good to know, definitely one to try this year! Bring Up The Bodies is the most ploty of the trilogy, I definitely think it's the easiest to read! And so worth it
Yay I’m just listening to The Pull of the Stars on Audible! Started it for book club but your recommendation definitely would have sold it if I’d not picked it up yet ☺️
My favourite book this year was "Girl with a Pearl Earring". You've probably already read it, seeing as historical fiction is one of your favourite genres. I was inspired by you and recently bought a copy of Wolf Hall, it's a big one but I hope to get to it in 2021.
Haha I haven't read everything historical fiction, although I read that one. But it's been about 12 years so I don't remember it that well! Definitely one to reread I think. I'm so glad. Fingers crossed you like it!
Mr Loverman made my top 10 for 2020. It's definitely better than Girl, Woman, Other and Blonde Roots. My favourite book of the year was Anne Brontë: Reimagined. It's a short biography of Anne that brings forward new interpretations of her life and works.
I only had a few 5-star books this year, but one of those that I found incredibly inspiring was “The Time Is Now: A Call to Uncommon Courage” by Joan D Chittister. I heard her on a podcast and immediately bought the book.
Have you read any other books by Jon Kalman Stefansson? I was intrigued with the sound of Summer Light and Then Comes the Night when you first mentioned it in your channel. And then a few months later, I unknowingly bought Fish Have No Feet (bought it because it was longlisted in the International Man Booker 2017) not realising that it's by the same author!
Just started watching - I definitely expect to see Hilary Mantel on your list.😁 My guess is that is the series to which you alluded. Now to continue watching...
You are a well read woman!!! New Subbie Here! Thank you so much for sharing. Happy Reading!
Thank you!
I love that you also consider the reader for the books! It really helps me decide whether it is for me 😃
Thank you! I'm glad it's helpful!
Another great video. Please don’t ever stop! 👍🏻
Thank you!
love the way you describe books!
Omg the Donoghue book is right up my alley. Great recs ❤️
Thank you! I hope you like it
One of my reading goals for 2021 is to read the Mantel trilogy! Fingers crossed I get on with them! 🤞🏻
You'll love them!

How Interesting. I've never even read any of Anne's works, which I know I need to!

I love it when that happens! It happens to me with Glennon Doyle (although I haven't read the book yet 😬)

I haven't but I definitely want to read more of his work! I'll have to check that one out

Haha I think that ones too easy!
Have you read Passing by Nella Larsen? It's all about identity in the Harlem Renaaissance
I haven't yet though I have heard its what The Vanishing Half is based on so definitely on my radar to check out!
I guessed the last Hilary Mantel book, but that’s all I got right. I thought Hamnet would be on your list as well.
Interesting. There were lots of books I liked as much as Hamnet, but I didn't love it.
@@RoisinsReading I’m going to have to pick up Mr. Loverman now; I adored GWO! I’m seeking out more of Evaristo’s novels (& poetry).
Mr Loverman is very very good!
To be honest, I'm probably foolhardy enough to try and balance reading Les Mis with the Thomas Cromwell trilogy in the same month 😂
Haha I would be very impressed if you managed it!
