  • This was an early video of my Cadillac CTS VSport before I really started the Jet Fuel Only Channel. Since this video, I've removed the downpipes and custom tune and switched to just a Trifecta tune. The trifecta tune has been great! The downpipes sounded great at full throttle, even with stock muffler but they were a little raspy at times and didn't improve horsepower from what I could tell.

    • @JetFuelOnly
      @JetFuelOnly  4 года назад +1

      Carlo Garcia yes. A real CTS-V spoiler technically requires a new brake light that has holes for mounting. You can also take the painted portion off your stock headlight and drill holes as needed. But check out SavageCadillac.com For CTS freestyle Spoilers that are meant for non-V cars.

    • @JetFuelOnly
      @JetFuelOnly  6 лет назад

      Downpipes are modified Renick downpipes for ATS-V. Intake and downpipes require custom tuning, a Trifecta tune is not sufficient. Skip the D3 springs, the company sucks, items get backordered, and product isn't always as stated. There are better springs such as CTS-V Sprint Springs from Renick Performance. CTS-V springs work great, as many people have used them.

      Rob Horton some things are expected to bolt on but overall there’s nothing you NEED to get. Trifecta tune is all you need. Downpipes don’t do much if anything. I’ve removed mine. ZZP makes an intake for the VSport if you want some intake sound but Trifecta will get you around 500-520 Crank HP.

    • @JetFuelOnly

      hamster whiskers It's just downpipes and some resonators in place of X pipe. Stock mufflers. There's no drone, just the terrible rasp at 3k-4K rpm. It's loud at that point. No low end loss, my boost kicks in pretty low to make up for that. I ran 12.8 stock and 12.5 modded. Possible 12.3 if I can get the 60' I had on the 12.8 run.

    • @JetFuelOnly

      Adrian F the car comes with one air filter box with two intake tubes attached - one to each turbo. I used a bunch of off the shelf parts. There is no official aftermarket intake for this car. Also, it’s not recommended to modify these parts unless you have a custom tune or design the intake properly. Either way it’s mostly for looks and sound, no power increase.

      Intake, downpipes and custom tune. Basic trifecta tune should produce similar results. Another tuner is producing higher results now on good fuel. Don’t worry about the bolt on mods, 90% of the results come from the tune alone. Also don’t put your focus in dyno numbers as they mean very little since they vary between locations. Julian Mccoy check the Car magazines. Otherwise it’s all relative. If you want quarter mile stock is 12.7, with a tune 12.4-ish. I’m sure it handles better than a charger.

      Ok so here's the deal. AK's comment is both right & wrong: it actually did sound like a Honda... from the inside. But Honda's sound the way of the vid *from the outside*. Not pressed against the glass like you know what. While it did sound a little mower-y to me, neither would the sound from the interior bother me with kitting mine up the way op did. Esp the bumper & exhaust. Props all around. 😎👍

    • @JetFuelOnly
      @JetFuelOnly  6 лет назад +3

      TC Jerzy are you kidding? That tune picked up as much or more than what Trifecta claims and no one has actually seen the gains that they claim with their tune.

    • @JetFuelOnly
      @JetFuelOnly  6 лет назад +2

      The car is tuned "conservatively" by the tuner at 18PSI. You're right, dyno's do vary and aren't the end all of comparison. However this car picked up over 100hp on this dyno from baseline on 91 octane California gas. Could more be pulled from the car with better gas and more boost? Very likely. Trifecta claimed 458hp/512tq on 93 octane. What is it exactly that makes you say the Trifecta VSport was "way nastier?" You said your self numbers vary, so what else supports this claim? The next highest HP for a Trifecta tuned car is 435/475 and after that 430/446 both probably on 93.
      Your right, the money wasn't well spent, but no one had done a full CAI/DP/Tune and I wanted to see what could happen. Someone had to do it to find out. I trust my tuner, as one of the trusted in the ATS-V community, but besides Trifecta, the quality/knowledge of tuning an LF3 is limited. Also, until a proper trans tuning option is available, it may be difficult to get the gains seen by the LF4 community.

    • @TCJerzy
      @TCJerzy 6 лет назад +1

      Love your car bro, but I think you should be getting better #'s. Check the vid by the Spanish dude about the trifecta...His in-car runs were hellish in track mode. I see you have done a lot of research so far and I just think that maybe someone other than who you are working with might be able to help you out better. 93 octane might help ya out, but I wouldn't put the car under more boost unless you got money to burn. You are absolutely right that tuning info is limited, but people are just starting to dig into the Vsport. Maybe your video just didn't do you any justice in the comparison and I can be totally wrong, but it just didn't sound like your boost was coming in as hard. Maybe an in-car run in track mode, from the dig, on video may be better for viewers, or for me at least to get a good feel for how the boost comes in with this tune...Imma check you out from time to time to see how things are coming along. I will be buying one in March and want to plan a course of action. Looking for 500/500#'s with the least intrusive work. Most VSport testers are content where it is at, I just want borderline scary. Thanks for engaging with you subscribers

      For you sure have points man. I'll take a look at the other guy's videos. Honestly, unless you just HAVE to have the size of car like the CTS (I love it), I would totally go ATS-V. The support sucks and it's growing so slowly. Thanks for following!
