I acknowledge the use of "Proud Mary" by Creedence Clearwater Revival and that the copyright for this song is owned by the relevant copyright owners. I use it here as a tribute the service men and women of the ex-HMAS Brisbane and I believe that it is within the fair use policy. - Спорт
My dad says he’s happy to of served n this ship
thanks for the boomer rock old mate
the song belongs to PERTH not BRISBANE
It was the HMAS Brisbane's breakaway song.
I served on Perth in 1960/70 and Proud Mary was Perth's breakaway song. I served on Brisbane in 1973 and never heard Proud Mary once.
that was the most boring explosion I have ever seen
The explosions were only for show. All the action went on below the water line.
Why Fogarty ............couldn't you find some more fitting music ...........
Proud Mary was the mascot song for ex-HMAS Brisbane whilst in service so I thought it was fitting to overlay that song to show respect to the men and women of the Royal Australian Navy who served on her.
My son served on the Brisbane and never mentioned the song. My sincere apologies . I guess it's just i'm not a fan of Fogarty and vented my thoughts .
All the best to you and thank you for your son's service.
@@larsp3280 I remember the 1st RAS I ever did as an Ord 1st trip at sea. We fueled Brizzie and at the end when she broke, out of her PA at full volume came CCR Proud Mary. I got the shock of my life. Then she hit the accelerator and powered away leaving us like we were standing still, banked Stb and took of like a speed boat. God she was magnificent. That day I fell in love with DDG,s . Never managed to get a draft to one . PS. I heard her play it several times over the years after a RAS , but it never began at the start of the song. it was immediately blaring out ROLLIN ROLLIN ROLLIN ON THE RIVER. It matched her increase in speed as she took of :-)
@@abwm2365 Thanks for sharing that. She is a great dive site now and it is great to hear real stories about her in action.
