The casting department did a great job matching the Voice over actors with the Singing performers. Pizzazz and Jem/Jerrica singing and speaking voices are really similar. Though it could also have been just luck.
Would have been cool if they had Samantha Newark sing "Imagine Me" - as Jerrica was meant to be performing the song and it would have felt more Jerrica ;-)
Another great mix of music and video, TheMitigating. I love how you also added Samantha Newark and Hands On Me at the beginning and the end too like the bands and solo artists always had in Jem. Hehe. Samantha should see this as I am sure she'd love it and I agree with jovemako, Samantha should definitely get some singing consideration.
As lame as it may be, I loved that you tied in the Glitter 'N Gold clips with "cause you're glitter and gold with a devil's smile" lyrics. (hey, it's the small things that make us smile) AND if a new Jem series pops up, Samantha should definately get some singing concideration!
Great job! This very much looks like a video that might have played during the cartoon. You did a great job emulating the style and flow. I did my own video that does something quite different.
Seems like different departments did this, The singing voice was recorded in NYC and the voice recordings were done in L.A. and I believe the singing voice was cast before the speaking voice.
Britta Philips, the original singing voice of Jem sings extremely better than Samantha. She can high up to 7 octave pitches. Britta never got the recognition that she deserved. Samantha, who was only the voice of Jem. She did no singing. Although, she an ok singer.
U can tell that Jem must be a true soprano becuz her higher belts from an E5 to A5 is where she sounds at her best (especially in songs like "We Can Make a Difference", "Truly Outrageous", "Nightmare", and "Show Me the Way"). The most common voice type for a pop singer is the mezzo soprano, where Bb4 to Eb5 sounds their best. This is probably Samantha's voice type since she doesn't sing as high as Britta does when she sings for Jem. Anyways, Britta actually sings up to a Soprano High C (C6) as shown at the end of "Glitter and Gold". However, the highest belted note she ever hit was a B5 in "Show Me the Way". Her higher head notes also sounded great for Jem, especially the Bb5 in "Music is Magic" and the C6 in "Glitter and Gold". So yeah, I can say Jem is probably a gifted soprano. I also noticed that even when Britta Phillips sings as Jem after a long time, she actually can still hit the high notes, especially the OUTRAAAAAGEOUS! part at the end of a JemCon live performance of "Truly Outrageous". So, I'm glad Britta is taking care of her voice. God bless her.
"Cause you're Glitter and Gold with a devil's smile"
I LOVE that Jem reference. :D
Samantha Newark was the speaking voice of Jem, Britta Phillips was the singing voice.
And one of the few surviving voice actors for the Holograms.

it's amazing how you even got parts where the lips seem to match the lyrics. sooo good

I LOVE this one!

This video is Truly Outrageous!!!! Great job!
I'm impressed..to find clips that can be synched that well with the song is hard to do. Nicely done. :)
Dude, this is the coolest thing I've ever seen. You are a video god!
this is amazing!
Yeah could have been for Pizzazz to sing to Riot lol

You are amazing bro! Such an AWESOME AWESOME Video! :D
Man, the REALLY makes me view J in a different light! 0///0
It's liked someone stripped the 80's cartoon morals from Jem. Weirdly awesome.
Las mejores caricaturas en aquellos tiempos como estas ningunas
LOVE! But is sounds like a Misfits song to me ;)
If they ever revive the animated series, Sam should definitely do the singing for Jem. :)
No offense to Britta Phillips, of course.
I wish they would revive the cartoon series as the series left so many unanswered questions with the final episode.
:D I'm viewer 1,111. W00t, all ones!
What song is it at 1:05
Omg thanks i cant believe that you awnsered. Thanks

I think they are both great singers, maybe Britta has that high pitched Jem voice we expect.
Now that I think about it that is very true.
Briana H, Sam is just as talented as Britta and deserves the same amount of respect.

so if the speaking voice can sing like this why did they need a singing voice actress, not that the singing voice was bad she was great but so is this
does not sound like the old Jem
