    • @watersheepmom167
      @watersheepmom167 4 года назад +6

      Emily Green measuring kids intelligence is practically useless. Studies have shown that most children do not do well on standardized tests but they do well on other forms of grading. There are people who think differently than the others. Therefore, standardized tests do not measure “smarts”, these standardized tests only measure the ability of the person to take a test.
      These “tests” are merely a way of schools to get funding depending on how the “scores” are.

    Compounding the issue is the fact that school budgets have been slashed left and right for years to the point where teachers have to either buy the supplies for their students themselves or ask for donations. This is why having a government that favors corporate welfare (tax cuts, big oil subsidies etc.) hurts the average Americans. We need a government that works for everyone, not just big business and wealthy individuals. Do you think a guy like Mitch McConnell spends more time writing bills for the average American or big business.

      I think mainly school is just testing how good our memory are...
      Same cycle...give us information, remember it, dump it out on test, repeat
      The cycle goes on and on...
      I also do agree with your statements, the state assessments don't define how smart we are...There are people out there who did horrible in school and still be successful...
      I think the school system is messed up :((

      Red Flower exactly! I learned algebra last year and I literally remember nothing now. It’s just so bad how they teach us things. I wish they taught us more useful things. Math isn’t useless but not all of it is useful or needed. They should teach us how to understand the whole thing and not just rules and guidelines without any extra information. Because then, instead of understanding, it’s just memorization. That’s probably why we’re so bad at school

    There are to many gaps to just do what schools did during this time. The schedule and access to the school work was below average. They were so focused on just giving kids work they failed in how the kids would learn. The communication was terrible and for children that were dual language students it fell by not having consistent interpretation of the material. Know they are sending out messages about how the class will be social distanced. Most of the classes are to small with an average of 30 kids. I’ve seen how they handled recess, I don’t have much confidence in social distancing plus learning. No school district was prepared for this and preliminary discussion of what will be is mixed.

      Sorry you feel that way about the great TRUMP! I'm a CEO, I have made more this year than any other year in my career and without lifting a finger (well may just my middle finger when I fire people). The stimulus package help pay for my bonus and my golden parachute when I leave this bankrupted company in a few months. Can anyone do what Trump have done? The market is a step away from all time HIGH with all indicators collapsing. You can not take down TRUMP with the stock market running this HOT. No one can milk the country like Trump can. I will vote for Trump again and again. Trump 2020 and BEYOND!

    It’s good that they close schools because it worth less to be honest we learn this in school that we don’t even use in real life

    People not having access is no excuse to keep this outdated and idiotic school system where one person stands infront of the class and gives the same lecture year and year. All learning should be online. Students and parents should demand online learning. The reason you hear this negative stuff is because of the teachers union, they don't want the kids to learn better on their own. 😂
