- "The Water is Wide" is one of the earliest tunes I remember learning on the harp, so it felt very nostalgic for Christy-Lyn and I to create this new arrangement of it! What was one of the first songs you learned on the harp?

Beautiful new harp and beautifully played, as usual, Carrie!
Beautiful!
Super Carrie, thank you 🎵❤
I am sure there is an easier arrangement for beginners - very nice and pretty this one.
Lovely sound Carrie, effortless as ever 😊
Aww thank you, Caroline! By the way, I recently watched your video of Sound of Silence with the percussion and I was blown away!! The amount of coordination that must take is incredible 😍 You're so creative! --Carrie
Thank you Carrie..by the way the Course is Fab🤩
Beautiful arrangement, and beautiful new harp! Is this the Jolie - Christy-Lyn edition?
Thanks Katharina! ♥ It's a Ballad 34 :)
Beautiful arrangement! I look forward to learning this early in the new year.
I wish I could play this instrument! Beautiful
We can teach you if you'd like to learn how! ♥
Thank You Carrie
So beautiful! I can't wait to play this. 🙂
Beautiful, Carrie. 🙏☮️❤️
Thank you so much! ♥
Beautiful, Carrie! One of my first piece was Come to the Quiet, arranged by Angi Bemiss.
I haven't heard of that song before! I'll have to look it up :)
Thank you for taking us on this slightly nostalgic revisit! It sounds lovely on the Ballad 34! 🥰🎵.
(Is that the Tiger Eye Bronze, by any chance? - you aren’t helping me narrow my choices of a new harp, btw). 😉
Thanks so much! The harp has a simple natural finish I believe 😃 I know choosing a harp can be tricky when there are so many great options! Best of luck ♥--Carrie
That’s marvellous 😍
Aww thank you Silvia! I hope you're doing well ♥ --Carrie
Beautiful ❤. Bravo!!.
Thank you ♥
I also play Water is Wide! I love it! Another fave when I started was Star of the County Down.
Beautiful Carrie. What model of harp is this.
Thank you so much! 🤗 I am playing a Musicmakers Ballad 34 string harp. Here is a link to it! geni.us/balladharp
The first song I learned on the harp was Mahogany Moon, with Christy-Lyn’s great course! I love your new harp, Carrie. What harp is that?
I love that, Linda! Mahogany Moon is such a nice piece :) I am playing a Musicmakers Ballad 34 string harp. Here is a link to it! geni.us/balladharp
@@LearningtheHarp Thank you, Carrie! I’ve been looking at some 34 to 42 string harps lately… just looking, so far… I might go to the harp showroom in Pasadena one of these days to see some of them. I want so much to get a harp that has two octaves below Middle C. Mine currently has 29 strings, but only one octave below Middle C. Also, I’m following your White Christmas Late Beginner course, and I’m learning so much about lever changes, hand position, etc. A couple of my levers are stiff, and I have trouble putting both of them down at the same time. Do you have any suggestions about how to loosen them a bit?
@LearningtheHarp I looked at music makers before I purchased my dusty strings.
Hi Carrie! That was beautiful as always! Nailed that harmonic at the end too!👌😃. The sound of this harp is so pretty. What is the string tension like on it?
❤
How do you like the string spacing/tension on this compared to the Ravenna or the pedal harps? The spacing/tension difference from my Ravenna to my Harpsicle is huge and hard to get used to.
It has been an adjustment forsure - some songs require a little extra practice as I get used to it! 😆 I don't see it as a bad thing though, it's just different and I know the more I play it the more familiar it will feel :) Even now when I go to play my pedal harp it definitely feels different compared to the Ravenna or Ballad harp, but it doesn't take long for the muscle memory to kick in and my fingers remember what to do! Kind of like when you're used to driving your own car and then you try driving someone else's car and it feels very unfamiliar - you have to re-orient yourself for a little while but soon enough it starts to feel natural. So keep on playing both your harps and over time it will get easier ♥
🙏♥️🙏👑🙏
Where can i find this sheet music please?
Hi Cindy! You can find links to the sheet music in the description of this video ♥
