    I recently brought a 2005 continental flying spur. Its done 104,000 miles now. Next service due in 1,300 miles. I am lucky enough to have locally an independent Merc, Bentley, Rolls servicing /repair garage so we will see how it goes. The video's are very informative hope I never need them but keep posting !
    Thanks
    Nigel

      @nigelgriffin1691 cheers Nigel, that's good to hear. Very few guys will work on them around me so I mostly have to call favours in when I need something I simply can't do. Hoping to get mystery a garage and a two poster before anything dreadful occurs! :)

    Agreed. I had a jolty 5 to 6 and Reverse. Worse though was occasional hesitation trying to get into 4th at Revs resulting in massive jolt and rev surge which put the fear of god into me! Tried a few gearbox specialists who all miss diagnosed and one wanted £3.5k to replace all sorts of stuff. In the end it's Solenoids in mechatronic. £1.3k. my advice shop around and be very careful what advice you take. Mine still has an occasional jolt dropping into 1st but i think it is still going through adaption and like Nigel's will eventually disappear. Only does it when engine warm.

      @kellygerman8709 thanks for that Kelly, I did see someone replacing the solenoids on this gearbox but it was in a rangerover. Think it was Samcrak on youtube. Hope it improves for you, if not the lucas add is worth a go :)

    Subscribed yesterday, watched all the vids today. Really wanted a Conti GT at 55, buying one isn't an issue, but after 2 years of watching youtube I've frightened myself to death & become nervous with the potential repair costs

      @kevy2300 I get it mate. Thank you for subscribing and managing to live through 18 volumes of horror lol.
      Best advice I can give you is to have that 10k tucked away just in case. Aside of the normal stuff the w12 engine is pretty much bomb proof and if you properly inspect one, or get it inspected, that's as safe as you can be.
      There have been stressful times along the way and there'll be plenty more but in between it's an experience of a lifetime. Just don't expect a normal car experience, it's not. You get one turn on this merry go round so the question is: do you want to pay 2 grand a week for a car home or sit there buck shee because you had a Bentley?

    What's your advice? A 150000 km car or a 35000km low mileage car.

    • @BentleyOnABudget-mp8jj
      @BentleyOnABudget-mp8jj  Месяц назад +1

      @steven72764 that's a very expensive question Steven. Depends entirely on the cars. If there's nothing wrong with either then it's just down to price and condition. One could argue either side if they're the same age. One thing I would say is that resale value after a point doesn't really come into it. 35,000 miles of short runs is worse for a big car than 150k of long ones. Personally I'd look at the price and then the cost. Two different things :)
