Absolutely amazing, I know you have planned this for a long time and the presentation and info is really professionally done. So proud of a small town boy from Cape Breton.
13:20 if you stand in the temple of the moon and see to temple of the sun you can see it was shaped to match the mountain behind, crazy because it means they had the intention and perspective to do it. Also that painting in the wall has some 1,700 - 1,900 years old 😮
Yeah, there was definitely lots of planning in the city in terms of positioning and alignments. Impressive how straight the Avenue of the Dead is as well. Amazing place, even six hours wasn't enough in the end! ✌️
I didn't know I had any space in my brain left to learn more things, but this whole trip has been as much a learning experience as anything. Glad you enjoyed it! Part 2 is up now ❤️✌️
The history in these areas is amazing! I'm not sure, but I do believe this is where I found myself way back in Dec 1984! At that time there was a narrated light show which was fantastic! But as I say, I may have been thinking of somewhere else, but the Sun Temple and Moon Temple sure look familiar! Keep up the amazing explorations!
I would imagine the site must have looked quite different from it does today, far more opened up now than in the past. Such an amazing place, and the history has been so interesting to learn. Part 2 will be out tomorrow! Thanks for watching! ✌️
We did away with the light and sound show decades ago, but we eventually did have one that was done with laser lights. When Covid hit, we had to close it down. Whether they do it again or not depends on a lot of things, so it is just a matter of checking back with our official sites to see what happens. Glad you got to see the old one, though. I did too, and I thought it was really fun! Charlton Heston was the English voice, and Ricardo Montalban did the Spanish.
Years ago I was able to get to the top of El Castillo in Chichén Itzá and El Adivino in Uxmal, both were great but… at the top of El Castillo I found a lot of plastic bottles, so even if it’s sad you can’t do it today I understand why the close it.
Haha, it was called "Snake Trails" so I thought i kind of matches where I was going (with all the serpent iconography at Teotihuacan), but yeah, it's a little bit Vader too I guess. 😂
Oh my gosh! PLEASE do not tell me that you did not see the Temple of the Feathered Serpent (previously called the Temple of Quetzalcoatl) at Gate One, across from where the building with the bathrooms are!! It is our 3rd tallest pyramid here at Teo, but size aside, definitely the one most worth seeing. I realize that you weren’t able to get off the main site to see the outstanding original frescoes at Tepantitla, Tetitla, Atetelco, etc., but I highly recommend them! You need to come back, and when you do, get in touch with me; I will gladly show you around! I walk slower than you do and have a hard time with the stairs now. 45 years of my profession was hard on my back and knees, but it was worth it! 🤗🇲🇽
I think you will be happy with Part 2 that goes up tomorrow. :) I'm slower now too haha. Thank you for watching, and keep an eye out for the second part going up in about 24 hours from now! ✌️
@ Oh, thank goodness! I was just so worried that you personally had been here but perhaps didn’t get to see it. For some reason I couldn’t find the option to subscribe to your channel, but I will try again now! Wishing you and your channel much success, and I will BOLO tomorrow for the second part! -Kim
I made sure to get down to Quetzalcoatl, and spend some time there (especially off camera), just enjoying the view and the serenity of it all. Thank you for the support, and I hope you get a chance to also check out some of my other Mexico videos. All in all, it will be 22 stops through this wonderful country. :)
@ So glad to hear it!! I have lived here permanently for 45 years, but lived here first at 15. I’ve been to every state but one, so I rarely watch travel vids regarding it. That being said, so much has changed throughout the years that it will be fun to follow you and see what’s new! Continued safe and fun travels to you!
What's it like for accessibility? I thought about that when you were saying that the way down towards the Citadel was uneven with a lot of "ankle breakers" ... sounds like the first part to the Temples would be ok, but not the part down to the CItadel... never mind the steep steps
Yeah, the Avenue of the Dead between the Pyramid of the Sun and Moon is very accessible-friendly. I'd say down the far end is as well (there's a separate entrance from the road down there too). But the walk in between would be tough for some people.
So the site opens at 8am, I was there at 10am and it still wasn't too busy. By 12pm though, it was very busy. I took the bus from the Mexico Norte bus station, and I'd say that's probably the best (cheap and fast) way to get there. (Details in the video). I didn't go with a tour, I prefer to go alone and experience it for myself, so I just paid the entrance fee and wandered about. There are lots of tour guides though, if you should choose to hire one, but I'm not sure on the price. Thanks for watching! ✌️
The best day to go is Monday. The reason is because most all of our INAH museums are closed that day, so people assume that Teo is too. Worst day is Sunday, because that day all Mexican Nationals get in for free. Take the bus from the Central del Norte, but get off at Puerta UNO, not Puerta Dos. You can catch it to go back at La Dos, but there is something amazing you will want to see at La Uno. Try to read up on it before you come, and make sure your sources are credible! Come visit - you won’t be sorry! I don’t know what my friends are charging for tours these days. Let’s just say that I’m a person who definitely doesn’t need a tour 😉. Be well! 🤗🇲🇽

Thank you so much! Glad that all the hard work is showing through in the videos. Small town boy with big aspirations, I guess. 😊
Proud of you for using the term skedaddle. It's really not used enough these days.
That's how you know it's me and not AI 😜
i beed that place......was amazing
It's a place that should be on everyone's bucket list, for sure. ✌️

I wish I'd connected with you before Teotihuacan! Would have added an immense amount of value and information to the experience! :)
Teotihuacan solo se a descubierto el 5 %
Sí, hablo un poco más de eso en la segunda parte, que llegará mañana a RUclips :) ¡Gracias por ver!

How early do they open to avoid crowds? what is cheapest way to get there from Mexico city? How much are the tours?
