In an MMA setting, Muhammad Ali lost to Antonio Inoki and was hospitalized with severe injuries. Inoki landed 137 blows and Ali landed 3 light punches. Pro-Ali referee, Gene LeBell, stopped the action repeatedly to help Ali. Ali was also beaten by greenhorn Leon Spinks (7 fights) and by 10-1 underdog Ken Norton, who broke Ali's jaw and beat him 3 times. Mike Tyson crushed Trevor Berbick and Larry Holmes -- who both beat Ali easily.
Inoki laid down most of the fight and kicked Ali legs so he couldn’t box, Spinks who was young and hungry beat a old overweight Ali towards the end of his Career but lost the rematch to Ali. Ali was actually 2-1 vs Ken Norton and Berbick and Holmes who were both younger also beat a washed Ali

@@jayp6553 Inoki vs Ali was NOT a boxing match, so no 10-count for being on the canvas. It was supposed to be Boxing vs Wrestling event, but it WASN'T!!! The rules were changed just before the contest to allow no wrestling holds, throws or submissions. Ali's team threatened to "go home" if Inoki didn't agree with their new demands for new contractual terms. There was no rule about sitting on the canvas so Inoki took advantage of that. Inoki was only allowed to throw one kick at a time. He could only kick with his head at waist level or lower. Inoki wasn't allowed to punch because "He's the wrestler." Only leg kicks were allowed, and only if Inoki's head was below chest level. He couldn't do stand up kicks, basically he had to be falling down. Dundee said, "You'll punch him 5 times in his face for every kick to your legs. This fight will be over in the first round."
Norton easily beat Ali in all 3 fights. Please search Google Images "Punch stats for Ali vs Norton 3" and you'll see how egregious the scoring was. Norton outpunched Ali by 87 connects, and every intelligent viewer agrees that Norton easily won all 3 fights.
Spinks was a novice and really terrible. He went on to lose 17 times. It was Ali's responsibility to be ready for a fight, with a prohibitive underdog, who was an outrageous cherry-pick.
Boxers are responsible for all their losses. If you're washed up and have had your brains beaten out already? It's time to retire instead of continuing to scam the public.

@@SIickTurtIe You're mistaken. Ali never fought a 19-20 year old Tyson -- or any Tyson. Ali passed a comprehensive neurological examination at the Mayo Clinic, that was ordered by the NSAC prior to his fight with Larry Holmes. They went above and beyond to clear Ali's readiness for the fight.
