The only 2 things I wasn't comfortable with was no power button and no high mid range and bass controls on stereo channels. But otherwise, price wise and quality is why I picked this one up. Served me well for years and I'm still using it. I kept the box too, because it makes it very easy to transport when you're playing live, and you don't have to worry about controls getting bumped into things on the way there.

I have this mixer. The phantom power is too noisy to use - the online reviews confirm that this is a common problem. The same thing seems to be happening with the right channel, which I've been using as the monitor channel.

Peaple this is a budget product made to compete in a range. Every one of the one's ive seen has the same features if you want more option well get a higher product in the lineup like profx o somthing like that its 200+ but this for the price is excelent for that. there is always more but for a higher price.

Great video! I have been interested in this mixer for a while, just bought this and it arrived yesterday. I am wondering though, if I would like to use the FX send output, is there a way to use this with an external FX device and route it back into a return spare channel without using the internal FX of the Mackie? From what I see, any time the FX send is used, ultimately the internal FX will have to be mixed with it, or am I missing a workaround? Please advise!

It's a really nice mixer, I own it, but one thing that is a deal breaker for me, is that the MAIN MIX knob level is tied to the the CR (control room)/PHONES knob ... Meaning that, for example, you can't mute the main outs while quietly listening to the mix with headphones or monitors. I think this feature is available in the, albeit pricier, ProFX series.

    • @davidbergewaytogo

For the record, I tried a ProFX12v2 after using this Mix12FX, but in the end I decided to splurge on a Zoom Livetrak L-12 : awesome device, that one solved all my monitoring problems... 5 different headphone mixes, woohoo.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me . I have a boss rc 30 loop station running into this mixing board .. on the RC 30 there's 2 ( 1/4) outputs.. one is the right out and one is left mono out.. I have the right output going into xlr slot 1 , and I have left mono out going into the 1/4 inch line in on slot 2 . The problem I'm having is there's no seperation between the guitar and vocals no matter how I hook into the mixer . The only thing I can think of is that the problem is the boss doesn't have a dedicated mic out / instrument out line ? If we put the 1/4 line into slot 5/6 we get a little bit of seperation but still not full control over the guitar seperate.

Hiya , I have the mackie 12 . I use a fishman sa220 powered pa . I have Two channels on the fisman. I plug the guitar and mic direct into the Pa . I went to day and plugged a second mic and my beat Buddy drum kit into my mackie mixer and used a guitar cable to connect the mixer ( left main out ) to the Pa aux input 1/4 jack . I then get hissing sound through the speakers . Is it the connecting cable I used . Currently don’t have any other cable it was the only jack to jack i have . But what type of cable is best to connect the mixer to the Pa . Could somthing else cause the hiss . When I’m not connecting the mixer all sound is ok . HELP

    Hi expert island,
Thanks for the nice review. I bought this unit a while back. I really hoped that I could love this unit, but right from the start, the mixer was severly heating up at the right upper corner and the same goes for the adapter that it comes with. The adapter even started making weird noises. At this point I decided to not hook it up anymore, because I'm afraid to damage my other gear. I understand that this is a budget mixer, but I didn't expect anything like this. I looked up some reviews on the mixer and I see there are several other people with the same issues. Did the model that you reviewed show any signs of heating up at all? Thanks and best wishes!

I hooked up the subwoofer the way they said, it did not have any volume to speak of.
