Something I’ve learned from many attempts to get vehicles: keys can be on the ground around it, in the glove box, on nearby zombies, or in nearby houses. The one that surprised me was the glove box. Plenty of times, a car will have an unlocked door or two and you can check the glove box.
Same. Started playing again yesterday. I’m at the cameo house just outside rosewood waiting for heli and eventually I’ll go to a safe house I modded in but I think it’s a good place to heal from the 3 days it took me to escape rosewood

I’ve got a good safe house, weapons tools food etc for a while, just hoping I can make a new character snd get my way there again asap. Was on a looting run and was uncareful walking through a door and got ambushed by like 8 zombies I didnt expect.
@@carpetstick ah the old random horde ending lol. If you’re interested, I downloaded the “more traits mod” and they have a “super immune” trait which doesn’t allow you to turn into a zed. I know that’s a MASSIVE change but I balance it out with more zombies and knowing I can still die super quickly from the confidence it gives you. I’m gonna have my mom try the game as completely vanilla and then I may do a only slightly quality of life mods version myself when I inevitably die from either my old age mod or a zombie

28:38 for anyone struggling a tip: press V and open the menu and you can select refuel from pump on there. This way you dont have to click or struggle with the menu. its way faster and easier this way. V near cars is your friend...
The McCoy lumber yard's warehouses are also safe places for claustrophobic characters to sleep, there's a small number of houses with large enough living rooms for a claustrophobic character to sleep (at least based on AmbiguousAmphibian's experiences with Worm Man)

I think you can safely live in the open barn where you parked your cars when you're claustrophobic! Also if you don't have a watering can look out for buckets, paint buckets or the big cooking pots and leave them outside to catch rain. Would be real fun to see these two guys again in action soon! I usually take park ranger with a ton of negative stuff and I make sure to take cats eyes, outdoorsman, low thirst and hunger, gardener and angler and then I just walk around looking for bugs and go fishing and start a farm :) I have not figured out trapping yet but hopefully soon so I can be a crazy mountain man in the Appalachian zombie apocalypse

By the time I'm done wandering the woods, he has cleared out an entire city block and reinforced it with walls and crates and had floating paths across the city lololol then I run up like, I CAUGHT A FISH! Lolol it's good times. Sometimes we play hide and seek together where we start in different towns and I hide, he gets a car and drives around honking until I can hear him and I have to let him know I can hear him. Then it's hide and seek to the death. Fun fact, you can just park a car on top of another player and leave em there lolol there's nothing they can do about it.
I feel like Kevin always put the "Timer" thing on the ovens / microwave to max, just to hope that it will burn for a joke. I don't think he realize that it only gives a "ting" sound, like an egg-timer, and doesn't make the oven turns off at all... Well, this game is complicated so he just take it for granted I guess.

44:15 you can look in different directions while driving, its really useful for kiting the zeds. Also a useful strat is to move through whole neighborhoods first moving all food in fridge into the freezer, and loose food. Then you LOOK but dont fully loot, only taking the absolute essentials, and moving anything else worth having into the fridge before leaving each using trash bags.
Didja know, you can drag stuff from a container you're looting into a container you're wearing without opening the container you're wearing? Just drag it to the icon of the bag in question. Also, shift+mousewheel on either inventory list will switch which container/inventory/floor you are looking at much faster. Also also, a car seat has a max capacity of 20, but has a special rule to allow any one object of any size, specifically to allow moving a generator. Also also also, I'd play on a PVE server that you and Max establish... Might even join a Patreon to get access...

hope you guys don't mind if I leave some tips for the books: magazines unlock crafting recipes, skill books give an xp boost depending on the level of the skill you have, up to a 3x boost to xp gain if you read the whole book volume 1 boosts xp gain for levels 1 and 2, once you're past level 2 the boost is lost and reading volume 1 again does noting then you have to read volume 2, which boosts xp gain for levels 3, 4 and 5 iirc, then volume 3 once you're past level 5, and so on reading books doesn't actually grant you xp gain, it only boosts the rate at which you gain xp while doing activities related to the skill
When you are looking for the keys for vehicles there is a possibility you can find them on the ground near them. like at 10:28 - 10:33 you can see a key on the walkway possible for the Taxi in the driveway. Hope this helps someone or even Kevin
Crosswords only alleviate boredom, but not unhappiness. For that, you'll actually want something like full books or sweets while using the crosswords and word search magazines for boredom management between tasks.

Sometimes the key will even be IN the lock of a random door of the car
