Dude! Stop with the "If you don't like it" insecurities! You're brilliant, man. Every minute of this video was enjoyable and you just helped me decide on a gear list when income tax return comes in. This is exactly the kind of playing around with sound that I absolutely love. Subscribed.
Thanks for focusing on bass synth! It's surprisingly hard to find on RUclips. Most synth + pedal demos use time-based effects with lead and pad patches. Some synth + pedal demos never even touch lower octave keys! I appreciate you!
My "Bass" Big Muff is pretty damn quiet. Although I noticed in the video The Muff had the volume & fuzz knob at max, so that's probably why it was so noisey
Enjoyed this, I'd like to see it again with different boxes :D Going stereo near the end of the chain would also be nice.. How about: EHX Super Pulsar / Alexander Syntax Error / Earthquaker Interstellar Orbiter / Empress Reverb
Earthquaker Devices make some great kit, but they might offer keyboardists more if they had stereo inputs & outputs. The digitech gear that you sell such as nautila (chorus / flanger), obscura (great for simulating tape wobble) & polara stereo reverb might be a good start for another video as they are stereo pedals. Earthquaker's afterneath is still on my wishlist in spite of being mono.
ive searched and watched many videos of people using guitar pedals on keyboards but haven't seen this one, probably due to it being more of a synth than a regular keyboard. but very nice. I only have 2 pedals at the moment, a rainbow machine and a regular delay. I've recreated a few interesting effects.
Just bought a Keeley Caverns and put in an Ebay bid on a Data Corrupter from watching this video. Another month where the kids won't eat, I hope you are pleased with yourself Duxbury, you monster!
Hey Andertons! Whoever edits these videos, I would like to suggest that you put subtitles for us whenever someone in the background talks and it isn't clearly audible. Cheers!
I've got to get some pedals! I use "vintage " samplers like eps and sp1200 and have been wanting to add some type of effects to the equation. My whole thing is only using hardware gear and these old machines didn't have anything for effects beyond analog filters for the most part. Ensoniq had some nice ones but I use multiple machines for different samples that make up the track. It will be cool having pedals inline and be able to quickly trigger efx for individual samples on the fly.
Generally you can’t go wrong with Chorus, Phasers and Flangers set a long sweep time and enjoy; it’s a kind of classic combo. If you want a slightly more modern sound I would whole heartedly recommend an Eventide H9.
Please guys, just stop talking and do the demos for us. This is the real deal. DEMO SOUNDS. But keep the good work and productions that you do. Just stop talking please. ;)
I recently got a minibrute 2s and had a little big muff and it sounds great with it and I’m not getting any of the background noise his getting here, if you turn the tone to the left it beefs up the low end with some distortion especially nice with drum like sounds
the Boomstar is expensive; what would be the cheapest oscillation source with multiple waveforms; and one multi filter, and one multi waveform LFO; and even just one ADSR unit that money can buy?
Hi is there any chance that you could show where these pedals are connected to. What inputs and outputs from the pedal to the back of your Synthesizer. I ask this being a novice and just getting started.
Is it possible to connect guitar pedals with digital pianos, but without using an amp and external monitors? I would like to you use my headphones or the internal speakers instead. But don't know if this works since I would need to loop the signal through the pedal and than back into the keyboard.
Is it ok to plug a synth straight into an effects pedal and that pedal straight into my audio interface or should I put a DI box in that chain somewhere? What is best practice? I have several synths/ several effects pedals/ several DI boxes/ a few audio interfaces.
That was a great selection of pedals to demo except for the Big Muff. I really like both the Keely and the Rainbow Machine. I have a Black Arts Toneworks Pharoah Supreme for my keyboard fuzz needs (I didn't get it for keys initially. I got it for its amazing fuzz tones)because it is dead silent when used with a quiet power supply. Most old school fuzz/dist are pretty noisy but it doesn't matter as much for guitar. I wouldn't use the Big Muff due to the noise and that noise will carry through the rest of the signal chain. A noise gate can't stop that while you are playing delicate passages. I wonder what an ARP Odyssey with the white/pink noise generator with the resonance and ring modulator would sound like through the 2 earthquaker pedals.
I’m totally new to synths and I am trying to connect a flashback 2 pedal to my Minilogue xd, I cant figure out how. Do I need to use an interface to connect it to my studio monitors? If anyone can help me out I’d really appreciate it!
A bit late here and you've probably already figured it out, but you will likely need an interface, mixer, or headphone preamp. Take the 1/4" output of your XD into the 1/4" input of the Flashback 2, then feed the pedal out into your interface/mixer/headphone pre. If you have a mixer with FX sends, you could also run it: XD > Mixer > FX Send > Flashback > FX Return
I'd like more of these guitar pedal videos for keyboards / synths. Like as many as possible

Love you.
THANK YOU!!
Actually no it rambles thru the entire thing. Unbearable

That's exactly right. When you turn on a Big Muff you hear all kinds of noise. Humming, moaning, screaming.
They're not kidding about the size of that muff, are they? That thing's scarily big.
that's what she said
My "Bass" Big Muff is pretty damn quiet.

Also, Eventide H9 + decent synth = inspiration.
Jack invents a new piece of kit..... The Pedal joist!
Why do I love this guy?
Your half-moronic half-genius sense of humour is actually brilliant! Great video mate. Sounds get awesome in the second half.
i have a DX7... and i used some pedals.. and now it sounds like a montage 😂
Thank you so much for this video. Keep up the presentations on this channel , Jack. You are my favourite by far. Lets see more synths!!!!
Less talk more rock my friend.
23:51 is comedy gold
This guy is the funniest gear reviewer I've ever watched please have him on more

Ooooh! Empress reverb, nice.
hey @Wagoo, these demos are fun - reminds me to get out my Rainbow Machine again :-)

Mmmm data corrupter is my favorite pedal of all the ones I own. It's just so freakin' fun!
Jack is a legend! managed to pickup a broken big muff years ago for like 1 pound 50 p and fixed it, what a bargain!
ADHD + gear = awesome
theres 2 ways to interpret that sentence lol
Is this AD is only High Definition?
Best data corrupter demo yet
I love how honest these seem. Keep it up!
“read a book, jack”
these are my favorite videos on youtube
It's awesome that when you think you're awesome you Dap yourself up.
Thanks for putting this together! One of the UK keyboard magazines recently published a guide for pedals on synths for more info.

Looking for some pedals. Thanks for this video!
The "feeling pretty comfortable with it" bit, aah I can't stop laughing!! 😂😂😂
This man needs more attention
Robinson Crusoe, Did he mean Heath Robinson? Love Jack, completely off the cuff and why each video is interesting. :)
A happy kid playing with his toys. What more can you ask for?
nice stands
A little late the the game! When running a synth into pedals, what cables are you using? 1/4” TS (guitar) cables or 1/4” (line) cables?
My Knifonium is basically one giant guitar pedal with a keybed.

It sounds like old videogames... Do more
Could you do this again with phaser flanger reverb and delay
I think that's the V1 Rainbow Machine. The LEDs are above the switches in v2.
Great vid yo
More pedals dude please
Peace love from Bristol England
cool sound
Any Guitar Pedal recommendations for digital piano? i'm about to buy a digital piano but i want to have more unique expression.
any relation to Craig?
4075... so you're using the ARP boomstar. they also do oberheim, moog & yamaha CS80s
data corrupter? me likes!!!!
16:43 I mean that's how any compression effect should sound at full overdrive lol
Had my turtle beaches up way to high for that 6:45 ish sound RIP my eardrums

Nice comment about Jack. Also try the ms70cdr.

woah something cool actually happens on youtube sometimes .lol
Dude got lost..."Keyboard Corner" ???? With not a keyboard to be found...its ALL guitar stuff!!!
Hey Jack (Its a synonym for devil , isn it?) U are so damd fun , i canot hold my belly anymor , thx :) Best from berlin
I thought you had a set of occasional tables there too but they are stools - aren't they?
Wow, the data corrupter was cool. Might sound like sh-- on a guitar, but on the synth was wicked.
opwave79 sounds best on guitar
Doesn’t Andertons sell a reamp box? I guess frying a pedal with line level is no big deal.
I use a Nord Electro 4d with Hughes&Kettner Rotosphere, a Roland Space Echo, a Digitech Polara and a Digitech Obscura.
How much maintenance do you have with the Space Echo? Worth 1,5k?

came here after my kid a experience
How are you going from line to guitar level ? I see no reamp box.
16:59 there is probably a really good autotune song hiding in this video!
Can you explain how to do this but use a synth in a computer daw and record it back in. What kind of gear needed to hook it up?

HOW CAN I CONNECT MY MIDI KEYBOARD CONTROLLER TO MY FX PEDALS?
The only way you can do that is to connect the midi keyboard into a synth with a midi input and connect the synth's output to the pedals
I could just watch videos of Jack reading marketing bullshit :)
We all can read.
