    Exactly. I never bathed my cats either. I'd wish I would ever manage to be continuously as clean as they are 😅

      I would never do that to them either, they clean themselves perfectly well I bet your cats smell great, i know mine do, I don't even clip their nails, the scratch post does that and they bite their own nails to keep them in perfect condition

      @@fiibossYou do have to clip the nails. That's very important if they are indoor cats.

    The only water my cat will deal with is what he’s drinking

    🤣 my cat loves baths. I’ve been bathing him since he was a kitten and it’s our bonding time. We always get so many compliments on how beautiful his fur is and how good he smells 😍 he doesn’t like when Daddy bathes him though 😂

    We once adopted a cat that once had his tongue cut. It never healed together, so one side of his tongue had a horizontal flap. He was unable to drink without making a mess on himself. He couldn't properly groom himself and he had medium length fur. Because of this we had to bathe him about once a month.

    I was wondering if I did something wrong, because I’ve never bathed my 15yr old indoor only Tuxedo. She would have fuc&ked me up if I ever tried.

    I use a pet wipe on my two every now and then, like when they get into something messy or the rare
    "poopy butt" from eating something they shouldn't have because I left something out. The wipes also give their fur a nice sheen.

    Generally speaking, cats are pretty much 'self cleaning'. I've had cats that have never needed a bath. But sometimes some kitties get into trouble and need help. It can happen. Between you and your vet, you should be able to figure this out.

    There are places they have more problems reaching. I have noticed my cats grooming each other in those places.

    I trim our cats claws when the animal becomes entangled in the pile of our carpets; or when the claw is growing-back on the pad of the foot.

    I was a dog and cat groomer. Some did not getting bathed, there were some that liked baths and others had be sent to a Vet to be sedated to be groomed at the vets. I had a Persian mix for a long time,she loved getting groomed,loved getting a bath, better than my dogs did

      Use a spot on flea worm and tick treatment

    • @CarolPenegar
      @CarolPenegar 13 дней назад

      @@carolynsaxton768 when the kittens came to me they were covered head to toe in 3 different types of fleas and cat lice, the older 2 were not as badly covered as I got them away from mum in a couple of days as mum couldn't cope with feeding them as she was 0-1 on the weight scale after 2 good baths and then a spot-on treatment and a flea collar they were fine. The 2 smaller ones that after bring them back to life, went back with Mum as they were only 1 1/2 weeks old, but after more cats being dumped at the house, even though separated from them the mum cats became covered in fleas and lice and passed them onto the babies the vet gave me some soap to wash them in which kept the infection under control but didn't get rid of them! At 8 weeks I took the little kittens and began intensive bathing of them to remove the fleas and lice when 12 weeks put spot-on on and flea collars and then began to mix them with the older kittens who I found out were the little kittens half aunties. After a couple of months I noticed that they were all scratching a lot, the fleas had come back this time through I have tried 9 different types of shampoo, 8 different spot-on, 2 different pills and 6 different types of collars and nothing is working even the vet thinks that with what I have tried, even the injection for fleas won't work so tell me what you think about bathing cats now!!! Got to wait till they are 1 year and 1 month before the vet can give them some stronger stuff!!! Mean while baths are the only way to control the fleas on them as nothing works these days!!! Can't wait till they are cats and I can uses the proper flea treatment that we used to use at rescue centres and then once and for all I will wash those nasties right out of their hair!!!!

    How about "never" ?

  • @Pedsonc01
    @Pedsonc01 10 дней назад

    In door cats: bathe when they absolutely need help cleaning themselves: cleaning poop, piss, vomit or blood of felled wild animals.
    Out door cats: bathe when the animal is injured and can't clean itself. I recommend using spray-on shampoo and wipe-away the spoil using a clean warm moist cloth.
