    I appreciate your tutorials. They're great and I'm grateful. However, I hear the verse differently. I hear open E, open G, Open B, then A sharp 3rd fret G string. Maybe it's just my ear. ❤

    Bradford, an alternative you might consider to play both of those guitar riffs on the "interlude" would be to use a looper pedal or one on the Helix. Just loop that lower riff first then play the high riff over it. You could ever loop an octave higher on the first riff, more closely matching the original recording, then play the high riff. Because all those parts repeat it would probably sound musically close to what I agree are separately recorded guitar tracks.

    • @bmitchellmusic
      @bmitchellmusic 4 года назад +1

      Maybe for you and me. But I’m sure 90% of people would find that unnecessarily difficult and just plain unnecessary 😂

  • @aaronmurray4236

    I like to play the “office theme” lol - in a higher octave and do both parts it’s a lot easier. The early live videos of bethel doing the song the riff is on that higher octave ( G string on the 12th fret to 9, then 12 D string to 9 and 12 A string 10- relative to the capo... I hope that makes sense)

    • @renoutlaw8371
      @renoutlaw8371 4 года назад +2

      The actual recording has both octaves in there. I personally play the higher one and use a POG sound to add the low octave.

    • @aaronmurray4236
      @aaronmurray4236 4 года назад +1

      Ren Outlaw yes that’s perfect lol. I was just thinking for like a one guitar set like most churches have I think the higher octave is more effective, but that’s just me lol

    My favorite way to play a D chord is sliding a C up like that. And, add the open low E, you’ve got an Emin9. I recently did an instrumental jam of When I Think About the Lord in D, where I used that form of the Emin9. Great sound. Great stuff from you, as usual.

      My church switches keys on me last minute sometimes too. You have to scramble to transpose it, but it’s just not the same as playing it in the proper key. Good luck with it mate

    Question...if you only have 1 guitar player, would you play just the rhythm part for the chorus to make it sound more full? Does it sound lacking if the guitar plays the lead part with nothing to back it up?

    • @erikhartley2494

      I would either do that or if I have the option, use an octave pedal, it will still have that guitar melody, but sound a lot bigger

    • @bmitchellmusic
      @bmitchellmusic 4 года назад +1

      Up to you! Sometimes the mix/band/set kinda lends itself to playing those leads and not having the rhythm isn’t a huge deal!

    • @sydrem2011
      @sydrem2011 4 года назад

      @@bmitchellmusic thx! Maybe I'll try having the bass a little more prominent so it'll still sound punchy and I could play the lead line. Great video btw!
