ABD did not "fall" from grace! He RETIRED! Let's be honest, the way he threw his body around on the field both during his years as wicketkeeper, and later as a fielder, was phenomenal, but would most definitely have a lasting effect. His batting too, was massively energetic and just different! He was the most versatile and innovative batsman ever! He simply realised his body would not take much more abuse and retired. THERE WAS NO FALL FROM GRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I resent that implication.
No doubt he is/was the most versatile player Cricket has ever seen. He sacrificed too much for the game and I as a cricket fan admire him not just for his game but the kind of passion he had for everything during his tenure.
