Underrated? According to whom? She was highly regarded and rated very highly in the music business and also by the public. I really don't think she was ever underrated. Maybe it was you who underrated her and now you've realised?
Randy Crawford you either get it or you don’t no one can sing like that. She is unique. She builds and belts! It hits me all of her songs are relatable to someone’s life. I hope younger people find her. Maybe when they see Jackie Brown

Randy is a shining star in the most literal sense. She is not from this world - she comes from another galaxy. Although I have heard her so often, I am moved to tears and melting away. London didn't deserve her, but my Mum was there then and thanks to her I still love Randy as I did as a small boy in those days in the hope that she would be my girlfriend when I grew up. Over forty years later, Randy remains in my heart as she was back then, and I love her quality still.

I watched her Manila concert Dec. 25, 1988..instead i stayed at home for Christmas celebration of our Family i decided to watch her concert it's bcoz it is once in a lifetime and i'm happy bcoz i heard her voice live it's Christmas that night she sung a short lyrics of Have Youself A Merry Little Christmas. 😊 i shout loud when she started to sing One Hello, People Alone and Oneday I Fly Away unforgetable experienced.
Randy has been my fave since I was a kid. Saw her live (sadly) only once with Joe Sample... was amazing. Her vocal is so distinctive and effortless. Tender Falls The Rain is my fave song of hers by far... as a previous post mentioned, she also wrote it. Beautiful. Been searching for a live version for years. One Day I'll Fly Away is also such an amazing song.. so perfectly produced as well (also by Joe Sample). Tonnes of other great songs too. Many thanks for posting this. Many thanks to Randy for being the best.

Randy Crawford (born February 18, 1952) is an American jazz and R&B singer. She has been more successful in Europe than in the United States. Despite her American nationality, she won Best British Female Solo Artist in recognition of her popularity in the UK at the 1982 Brit Awards. Sadly Randy was set to perform "The Farewell South Africa" tour in Cape Town and Pretoria in October 2018 but it was cancelled due to her suffering a stroke. This would have been Crawford's final performance prior to retiring.
In, I think , it was sometime in 1983 , Randy came to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia to perform at a Dinner 🥣🥗🍝 Show, at tge Shangri-la 🏨 Hotel. She rendered most of the songs she sang here. But, she was seated on a hugh stool almost the entire show. The Hotel Ballroom stage was not big enough for Randy to prance. But, she still did for at least a couple of song. She was fabulous and got tremendous applause from the Dinner crowd. My wife and I attended with our General Manager and fellow Managers of Singapore Airlines. We enjoyed the Randy's Show needless to say. We loved the song " Raining In Georgia" best of all. I have one of her CDs and listen to it, now and then, to " relive " her memorable performance. 🌺🥀🌹💐🌷🌻🌸
Yes indeed. I cannot think of a single female soul singer that could match this performance. Only the great Minnie Riperton could possibly come close. Randy is in a class of her own ❤
I saw her in 1981 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane - she had a residency there that year. She did play a number of gigs in London that year though so might have been another theatre
I did see her live in the 1980s but am sure it was at the South Bank Festival Hall. I remember one guy going on state and giving Randy a kiss. Oh I loved those 80s concerts and her voice, artistry, stage presence all magic.
I fell in love with this woman's voice when I was 13,couldn't get enough,and still today now I'm in my 40's.She still has that soft sensual voice, as always.I will slways love ,Randy Crawford ❤❤❤
