In the MPC Key 61, you have the option of filtering the bad notes out so they are muted or having the MPC Key 61 snap the bad notes to the nearest good note (duplicates notes). I think this sealed the deal for me. I have no memory for chords, even stickers on the keys don’t help. I like to make noise on my keyboards, so maybe this will help me sound better. Thanks for your videos, very well done.
Best explanation of scale mode I’ve ever seen
Does scale mode also work on the midi out port? (5 pin or USB)
good lessons
thx!!!
The sound is good. Do keyboard have function transposition, high or low??
HUH ! Amazing ! I like it.. Sometimes It would be nice to have a " Bad Note Insurance Marker " Backing you up.. Nothing worse than hitting a sour note during a " Soaking " or Harp and Bowl Night... Thanks !
Thanks for this explanation! Now is there any way to program the drumpad to follow chord progressions, instead of playing what comes stock?
On the MPCX you can select individual pads whether it be the kicks or high hat doesn’t matter any sound or sample and assign a scale or a route note so that it is in key or scale so yeah I’m pretty sure this has the same workflow and you can do the same thing. It’s very quick and easy. You just hit edit sample and it’s right there at the middle bottom of the screen and you can select what you want for each individual sound and sample.
Are these function in a Novation Impulse? Or should i look at my many software instruments (XLN, Logic Pro, and such)?
Are these functions on a Nord stage 3 👀 asking for a friend. Lol
Can I transpose in snap scale?
Can this be done with the software with out the controller & if so how?
Silly Question? Doe it only record the midi data relative to the scale mode chosen?
Great Video Series on the MPC Key 61 as well ❤
That’s a good question! I’d have to test it out and see.
Does this work for The Mpc x in standalone mode
Is it possible to lock the selected scale to just the white keys? It's a feature that the Scaler 2 VST allows you to do, but it would be awesome if it was available in a standalone setting. It seems that it's awfully close to being possible, so maybe it's buried further down the menus of 'Keyboard Control'.
This seems like a reasonable feature. I don't own an MPC, but maybe you can use a combination of transpose and scale mode?
You would pick a scale that only includes the major keys.
Hi! How did upbeat on it?
Man your Fire on that keyboard... thanks for the tips that it seems know one else teaches... thanks!
Can you do this in mpc live 2
Will this settings follow specific project, or are they global?
Specific to each individual track or assigned samples being used in that particular track.

Best tips for learning piano outside of paying for private lessons?
In one way this is cool, but in another way it actually makes the keys more difficult to learn. Hearing the wrong notes is how you know you're pressing the wrong key, so if you remove that possibility, you prevent yourself from acquiring the muscle memory you get from playing the keys.
"It's like cheating!" yeah, I would say so. 🤣
Will this play in monophonic mode? I want to replace my Sub Phatty, but I need monophonic to for my playing style.
Yes it will
Oh yeah. Until I get lessons.
