megazwatcher It's a steel plate, so I guess it would take enough force to bend/break steel. Maybe check with the manufacture if your looking for those exact numbers. I think it's intended to make the door more secure than before, but it's probably not 100% break in proof. But it's better than no protection, that's why I travel with it. Thanks for watching.
polly chu Hi, I can't find the measurement on their website; but I estimate it's about a 1/16 inch steel plate. It's definitely solid and good quality though. Thanks for watching!
When I traveled to China I noticed the doorknob slats are of a different size compared to our standard in the States. I don’t believe this work work in that case?
Jesse Soto hi, yes it definitely depends on the style of door. And yes, doors I’ve seen in China typically have a different locking mechanism. So this is best for a more standard American (or western style) door. It can’t work on every single door. Thanks for watching!
@@JacobysJourneys We use the same type of door latching mechanisms in Australia, as America. In fact, this product was developed here in Australia. True Blue! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Hey thanks so much, that was fast! No, I've never been questioned about it at all. It's just a small piece of flat metal, so as of now, none of the airlines I've flown on have ever gave it a second look. I'm guessing it's not considered a threat or dangerous. Thanks for sharing it!
@@JacobysJourneys thanks for your reply i appreciate it. I was looking for alternative locks that can be applied for when one leaves the house or room.

hey thanks that was a good one. I've looked and looked at locks but I've never seen that one before thank you💕🌿
Jude Thanks, it’s a great option for travel!
Does this work for door that has lock on lest side ?
My concern is how quickly can it be removed in an emergency
Rayford Hickman Hi, yeah it’s no problem to remove quickly. Just pull that pin out and throw the door open. Thanks for watching.
hello, I have a door to the room in reverse, how to use it?
Then it seems it may not work for that specific application.
Hello, what happens if the door opens outwards?
Smiggles Miggles Hi, yeah this is designed to work if the door opens inward. Thanks for watching!
Exactly my thought.. I have been watching a couple of these travel locks.. and they all seem to be for doors opening inwards..
I am living in Ontario, Canada ..how can I have that lock please?
Hong Nguyen Hi, so I have a link to the lock for sale on Amazon in the video description. Thanks for watching!
how strong is it? what does it take to breach it?

how thick is the plate in mm or inches?

wocko1 hi is it also working for deadbolt door?
Hey Jacoby, I posted this vid on /onebag on Reddit and a question someone had was did you have any issues with airlines bringing this with you?

so this can only be applied when the user is inside the room. Not very useful for travel in my opinion.
Well yeah, because you are in the room when you lock the door.. to keep people out when you’re inside.

Good for rusting. No quality at all
Mine hasn’t rusted, after all these years.
Dude if you can kick it open why bother using it
I think it's better than nothing at all.
